Bad situation, but I don’t see how the officers can be charged here. Wrong house and they shoot a guy with his hands up? Yeah, of course. Break down the wrong door and get shot at by someone who thinks they’re breaking in? Sure. But the victim here did not act in a sane, reasonable way, and it led to his being tragically but justifiably shot IMO. being at the wrong door shouldn’t mean an officer has to get shot when someone comes out pointing a gun in their face. I live off the main road a ways, and when someone knocks at night I answer with a gun if I don’t know who it is. That said, I don’t bust out the front door and jump into a shooting stance pointing it at whoever is there without knowing who it is. It could be the police, it could be someone at the wrong house, or it could be a 12-year-old looking for their dog. All of those have happened out here, but I’ve yet to have a robber knock on my front door. When the police knocked at night I looked out the window and saw the patrol unit and put the pistol in a drawer before I answered the door. All this guy had to do was crack the door and look outside, or just looked through the window right next to the door. The porch light was on, and these guys weren’t hiding around the corner.

Brutal way to lose. Soft lofted free kick from probably 40 yds out, right to the keeper’s hands. He mishandled it, it popped off the crossbar, and a forward came running in and knocked the goalie, and defender, and the ball across the line. Was a clear foul IMO, but the goalie had no business dropping the ball to begin with

They played so well! Probably a fair result, but lumberton also did enough to get to the shootout.

Stephenville keeper just made a massive one handed diving stop on a Lumberton breakaway with a minute left in the half. Stephenville leads 1-0 at the half.

Skill-wise, these two teams seem pretty even, but Stephenville is WAAAAY faster, which is not something I expected to say. They're more physical as well, but that's an area where our region always struggles when they get to state and face Austin and Dallas teams.

The playoffs are always kinda fascinating to me in soccer. It usually doesn't bode well for our region, but it's always interesting to see how some of these teams match against the major hotbeds of dallas and austin. Also, I wish I knew more about Wylie East. Last season they went 17-6-1, finished 3rd in their district, and lost their opening round 5A playoff game. This year they moved up to 6A, and somehow they're 28-0 and have only given up 5 goals all season. That defies all logic.

about to go back to back. Celina lost their second game of the season LAST year 2-1 to a 6A playoff school. Since then they've gone 55-0-1. The scariest thing to me is that last year they allowed 21 goals on the season on their way to a state championship, and this year they've allowed 7.

I like the boys’ odds better than the girls. Both are underdogs, despite the girls having a higher ranking. That said, they’ve both made it this far for a reason. Would love to see them keep going.
