BC will be fine. Don't gauge your season by the results of this game.

Look here fellas' we forgot Bubba Smith, and Wade Phillips who were born in Orange. I don't know if they played for any of the Orange schools though. Maybe someone may have stories about these two amazing people.
Wade's first coaching job was at Stark.

Ernie Ladd played for Wallace High, which was later integrated with either West Orange or Stark.

You're still Bridge City!

I guess we will see that vaunted BC passing game now, right? They CAN pass, they say. Gonna have to now.
This ain't middle school any more, is it?

These guys are awful

Bridge City losing a three year starter will surely have an affect on the outcome.
I disagree. The outcome is likely an L with or without him.

I see a problem going into this game that probably few have thought about. I predict that the referees in this game will dictate the outcome more than any other game in recent memory. I am sure they have a directive from higher up's to take control of the game and call penalties for every little infraction. I do not think they will let the kids play the game like normal. WOS will more than likely be the team under their microscope. That is not even close to being fair. WOS has done nothing wrong but will be watched closely because they will be assuming there will be retaliation. I hope I am wrong.
And don't cheer too loud on the WOS side. Lord knows the BCPD will find a reason to escort you out... and I'm not being facetious.

Maybe this will add some spice to a series that has been pretty lackluster besides a half handful of relatively close games. If BC can't move the ball through the air, the WOS starters will be out by halftime.

42 - 21 WOS. If anyone knows how to play the 'Stangs, it's Dwayne Dubois. I think BC will keep it a little closer than everyone thinks they will. Slot-T gives WOS fits because it nullifies a little speed on defense but BC's defense won't be able to control Jack Dallas and co. I liken it to Vidor's scrimmage with the Ponies. Still, just a bump in the road to state.
When has he showed he knows how to attack us? When has the Slot-T given us fits? We saw it, what, 7 times last year? I see it quite opposite!

I think they'll score. Probably early.

I have a lot of respect for BC and these seniors. A couple of things with this post, tho... There is a BIG difference between passing when you want to and passing when you HAVE no choice. I have heard a million times, "just because we don't doesn't mean we can't", If you aren't throwing during game speed (which it appears you don't) it will not be there consistently when you have to have it. You don't have to believe, you will see.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention the 7th grade, LOL.
Remember where you heard the "just because you don't pass" argument last?
Dubois's HJ teams.
It always goes back to middle school with BC. Our guys have grown a bit since then.

I'd like to address some things. The "WOS you're next" is a tradition thing. It's done every week no matter who we're playing. And don't think we can't throw the ball. Just cause we haven't opened it up much does not mean we can't. Just means we haven't had too. And obviously some of y'all don't remember the last times these 2 classes have met in the past. We were one of the only teams to beat them back in middle school. Don't expect a blowout because it's not gonna happen
Ah, the old "remember middle school" argument. That is as much a part of the BC tradition as "this is the year."
WO-S has scored 10 points more in the last six meetings than BC has scored in all 24.

According to the Orange Leader, BC has fumbled 8 times (2 lost) already. That along with only 3 pass attempts is surprising. Considering you are going up against the best D you will see this year, you would think you would work on the pass game a bit when you have the game in the bag... Unless you don't want to expose a weakness.
I'm not suggesting BC can't win. Upsets happen every week. But for a team with no success against WO-S with a coach with no success against WO-S, to see the Mustangs in the same light as North Forest ("WO-S, you're next!") is just dumb.

It shouldn't even be a question if BC is going to score. They have scored 50+ both weeks. They will score. Now how many is the question. WOS always murders teams that run the slot t. But I can promise you Dubois will have his squad ready for this one.
Dubois vs WO-S:
2014: L 21-42
2013: L 6-42

HAHAHA...
I forgot about "BOJO!"

Is this "finally the year" for BC against WO-S again? It rolls around every four years or so. I think BC will compete and likely score, but they will have to be balanced and utilize the passing game successfully to keep it close. Slick and tricky running might get some points early, but it won't be there late.
-
It couldn't have been more than 20 points combined through their 7th and 8th grade years. It might even be single digits.

BC should never consider a promising season doomed because of a loss to WO-S. A lot of BC folks thought again that this was "the year" because of Dubois and middle school history, but it's not going to happen.
