I think I would have listed 10 or 12 teams for WOS before Newton. I respect Newton, but it's not a rivalry. We don't really have a proper rival these days. I dont know if we ever have.

I'm going with my neighbor of 6 miles, Liberty Panthers. I don't know how many panthers it's gonna take to beat WOS but I know how many they are gonna use. The talk stops in two weeks, somebody needs to stop all the hype, and that's gonna be the 2016 Liberty Panthers. Shut'm up and shut'm down Panthers.
Certainly you are entitled to your opinion. I do, however, think that when adversity strikes in two weeks (and it will) the Panthers will realize that they are not lined up against Shepherd or Coldspring - two teams that they beat by a combined six points. And if that gets in their heads (and it will), it's over. I give the Panthers props for going 8-0 so far. But all undefeated records are not equal.
Any team that is still undefeated at this point in the season stands a chance. It is NOT, however, even money. The Panthers will have to have a balanced attack, speed at every position on D, and tons of composure.

Im not affiliated with the Liberty Panthers, I played for the Panthers. That is a team i will Always want to look forward to being the best, but i am against not giving a team that has faced a bunch of diversity this season and has just sharpened their tools for 3 years. WOS should go out and do what they wanna do statistically and definitiely what you guys expect but upsets happen and the guys on this team are ready to play, they are. I wish yall wouldve waited to make this thread yall shoot down teams weekly now the athletes that get on here and view this are wanting to prove yall wrong. The way yall look at the outcome of the game, means a pointless forum was posted. What was the point if yall know WOS is going to do the same thing they did to every other team?
Son, your mother and I think you're on drugs.

Lamarque at anahuac. Never thought I'd see the day.

I saw the interview and honestly thought I had found the wrong one because I didn't hear any boasting. I was a bit taken aback that they weren't sporting the top hats and canes that they usually do. Very uncharacteristically unclassy.

How was that chippy? I was trying to add a little levity. Yeesh.

You are no different then then the guy that asked for an HJ spokesman to tell him "what kind of team do you have"...I sense a lot of arrogance in this thread from some of the WOS faithful. Not enough to cause the type of karma that would allow you boys to actually lose a district game, but the type to blow a lead like y'all did vs Gilmer two years ago in Dallas. Thank goodness we all know you aren't a true reflection of the WOS program. One thing HJ has is class, win or lose, you will get plenty of it.
I have actually seen HJ this year, and i can vouch for their classiness. In fact, even though "classing up" the uniforms was a nice touch, I think they are hding them back on the field. The tuxedos restrict flexibility, especially when throwing the ball and tackling. Also, it seems like an inordinate amount of time is wasted with "equipment time outs" while players search for monocles between plays. Maybe only players who need glasses should be required to wear them?
In some ways, it does improve sportsmanship, but it also dulls some of the aggressiveness that is NECESSARY. Yes, telling your opponent, "That was a dandy run, friend," is sportsman like and even quaint and endearing. But requiring your players to say "Many pardons" every time they slip through the line or break a tackle quenches that competitive fire.
I don't mind being required to wear a jacket to the concession stand, but I don't like being called "riff raff" when I order a link and popcorn. I don't carry enough cash for caviar or escargot, and wine and cheese are hard to enjoy in the stands. I also have to protest the parking being valet only - especially when the man at the podium tells the valet to park my truck "in the nearest body of water."
I enjoyed HJ's halftime show, but I felt bad for the kid marching with the cello and the nine kids who had to carry the piano and the pianist all over a muddy field. I hope the girl who fell off of the piano is OK. That was scary. There were sequins everywhere.
The chandelier over the field is beautiful, but the rigging holding it up is bound to cost a fortune.
And "Puttin' on the Ritz" is a weird choice for a fight song.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't it your defense that gave up the long runs to give good field position from the beginning? You wouldn't have been pinned that deep.
So you say the defense wasn't scored on... So was the offense scored on? Which is it?
Keep I'm mind I'm not being sarcastic, be you and I are discussing a serious question...
How could the defense have been scored on if they weren't on the field?

As was repeatedly said last week, Dubois runs a one dimensional offense. You can claim to be able to throw the ball, but when the time comes that you NEED to, you can't. It was the same at HJ, whose fans said the SAME thing - "We can pass. We just haven't had to." Those teams fared no better. He will win you some games, but the ceiling is low. Think Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Actually, no one voted them #1, because they had zero first place votes. Someone voted us #7 (the hatchet head), which caused us to drop. Bellville just benefitted. I forget who they voted #1. Gilmer?

Nah. He had good little runs throughout the game.

Despite the woodshed beating, BC has more hope for the future of the program (except against WO-S) than LC-M. Low expectations + a coach who is clearly coasting = a long road back to respectability. And once Crouch retires, he leaves behind a very unattractive job.
