  1. If these statistics are correct, West Orange Stark has outscored every team on the list by 36 points  and has allowed  26 fewer points than any team on the list:

It looks like Liberty is trying to let their Qb throw the ball more, 2 interceptions when Liberty has been in scoring position. Bad play calling when your back is against the wall you have to go with what you know. No way on earth i dont give it to that monster in the back field. Also, if Liberty goes into the spread against WOS i would be very dissapointed. Ive seen a couple teams play them that way on film and well, yall know what happen. Gotta really go out there and punch them in the mouth.

If they don't throw the ball more than a few times, they have zero chance. Who have you watched run the spread against us? Curious. Who have you seen "punch them in the mouth" with success? Kennedale is the only team to score on our D, and it was 36-0 when they finally did.

The only reason WOS came up is because you west orange starkians made a post for wos Vs. LIBERTY a week in Advance. Nevertheless, people are saying WOS is going to beat Liberty, I am going to defend that. People are saying Hj will beat Liberty , I am goinng to defend that.

The thread was started because it is our next game. We are off this week.

Wos is having a GREAT year of HS football , and so far I would say liberty is having a good year for highschool football as well , how is what we've done just "good for liberty " any team would like to be in our position right now , underfeated and top 10 in Texas ... how is that not good in general ...

Liberty is not state ranked. State rankings are determined by the AP poll. Liberty has not received any votes in that poll. I know they are ranked on DCTF.

Yes, most schools would call earning an 8-0 record a very good year. They have a ton to be proud of. Two teams from a district being ranked in the top 10 is pretty common. You see it every year - sometimes even three teams. Our district pales in comparison to D2 7-4A with Gilmer, Atlanta and Gladewater or D1 9-4A with Carthage, Kilgore and Henderson.

Guys, this is a football message board. Please don't wear your heart on your sleeve or expect people to go out of their way to avoid wording things wrong. Be proud regardless whether you are ranked or respected.

The fact that the defending state champion West Orange-Stark Mustangs and the Liberty Panthers are in the same district and both ranked top 10 in the state of Texas now according to DCTF rankings for 4ADII. From what I have understood Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine and rankings are a really respectable poll/magazine when it comes to Texas sports across the state, but there wasn't a lot of buzz on here about two SETX teams in the SAME district cracking that poll, and from what I'm seeing from past rankings its actually rare that ANY schools from SETX make it into DCTF's rankings, so I just thought this would be more of a topic of conversation since this is setxsports.com lol  ... and ill admit liberty is never this good so I wanna enjoy our time in the spotlight and have you all come on here and congratulate us on how good we are doin lmao nah not really but I do think this deserves some recognition.

In response to the original topic, I think most people check the official AP poll if anything. I don't know that I have ever checked DCTF's rankings. In fact, I only really look at that poll to see how the top teams fared that week.

Congrats on a great year so far. I don't mean to sell your team short by predicting a very convincing win. While this might be the best Liberty team in a long time, this - so far (knock on wood) - is also the best WO-S team in a very long time, and we are talking about a team that made it to the state finals the last two years and has gone at least four rounds deep for several years before that.

I just pray that none of the Mustangs are reading their own forum topics and press clips.

  6. I found two details shocking. First, this wasn't like Suh stepping over the O-lineman and "accidentally" stepping on him. This kid was several feet (if not yards) away from the scene of the crime and had to walk over with the sole purpose of hurting his opponent, who was defenseless. Second, his attack did not seem like a choice made hastily in the heat of battle. It was so calculatedly quiet and subtle that the refs just feet away didn'teven notice.

I am all for giving the kid options. A harsher punishment - an extended suspension or even removal from the team - or a less severe (but still tough) penalty in exchange for a public show of contrition - maybe an open letter or statement of apology and some form of community service. A show of humility. Let him choose.

Franks wasnt near 230?? I will have an exact weight as soon as possible. No that isnt my argument , Hj dont have the Athletes to beat Liberty, you can use the defensive mechanism anything you want to, feel free to do so, in fact i want you to. But Hj wont win this game

And how are your statements in this thread different from those of the WO-S fans in the WO-S/Liberty thread?

I am pretty confident that your game this week will be a good bit closer than your game next week.

And WOS played MUCH tougher opposition to earn those numbers.

It's nice to see Liberty having a good year for Liberty.... the only problem is that WOS is having a GREAT year for high school football...

Fans of just about every team WO-S has played came into the week rolling their eyes at the "Mustangs are on a different level" talk and then started the following week trying to convince whomever was next on our schedule of that very same sentiment.

Libert 's offense is going to make WOS play. This is a team with a lot of size. Not at TE and O line like Hj 's class of '15. The Rbs are huge and fast and strong and bruising. Wos has some size, but we shall see Im going to wad some nice predictions and say Lib 21-20

I'm sure the defense plans to play. Liberty has its work cut out too. Some comparisons:

Liberty has allowed 117 points through eight games. WO-S has allowed 23. That's a 94-point advantage for WO-S.

Liberty has scored 278 points. WO-S has scored 418. That's a 140-point advantage for the Mustangs.

Liberty won its three closest games by a combined 12 points. WO-S won its three closest games by a combined 111 points.

For some reason, this thread reminds me of a quote:
