  1. La Porte vs Lake Creek LC won Game 1: 5-2. La Porte won Game 2: 1-0. Game 3 tomorrow at 1:00 pm at CE King.
  2. Interesting reads. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] Thoughts?
  3. Here is a link for all. It’s actually a Snopes investigation link. Matches the numerous other NBC exclusive interview stories I’ve read previously. This story was originally an NBC exclusive. Others have picked it up from there as was said they wanted to do to raise awareness. As it’s been picked up, it’s morphed somewhat. Especially on social media. [Hidden Content]
  4. You need to provide a link. The original story from February—of which there were many links—didn’t have this added. As the parents, congressional members & their legal counsel have stated, they would do whatever it took to raise awareness to try to get her back for treatment. This appears to be part of that exercise. By the way, are you talking about the same child even? The girl with cancer from Texas was 10 I believe. You may be getting your stories mixed up.
  5. Sad part is—besides the child having cancer—is if they hadn’t illegally entered the country, been ordered to immediately leave years ago for some reason, and just applied for a travel visa for their daughter’s medical treatment, they probably would have received it with little issue.
  6. The parents didn’t want that & had no one set up to care for her. I wouldn’t want to leave her in CPS custody either. This is another anchor baby situation. Really, she shouldn’t have been born here in the first place. Sounds harsh. But, that was the start of the problem.
  7. Again, this is an incorrect summary. You’ve done this repeatedly now. The Authorities didn’t ‘remove’ the girl and her siblings. The parents didn’t want to be separated & had no power of attorney or legal paperwork for anyone they knew to keep their children while they seek a humanitarian waiver. (Which I would think they’ll get. But, I don’t know if it those are only for the treatment time, or what.) I would think there should be a way to have some flexibility in certain circumstances. But, this is another issue where the parents were both illegally here & ignored an immediate removal order from long past. They had their hearing before their daughter was even diagnosed, were ordered to leave, and chose not to follow those directions.
  8. I don’t remember hearing this type of outcry when the Obama Administration created Operation Janus and stripped people of their naturalization status and deported them.
  9. The anchor baby situation has been an issue for a very long time. It really needs to be addressed. Issue is, it would take an Amendment the way things are currently.
  10. Huge win for Trump as world's second biggest carmaker relocates manufacturing to US [Hidden Content]
  11. Low form of wit.

  13. The other side of the story. [Hidden Content] It should be noted that Sen. Cassidy is an MD. He’s also always seemed fairly responsible, reasonable and caring from what I’ve read.
  14. From what I understand, no one’s illegal. Just misplaced. 😁
  15. Watched the entire presser/Q&A live. Not sure what you’re talking about. As far as Canada, you may want to keep up with current events. Not everything is as rosy as first appears. [Hidden Content]
  16. Out of baseball coverage area matchup . But, for those interested, this is what I’m seeing. R17 Lake Creek Vs. W20 La Porte Game 1: Thursday, May 8 @ CE King, 7:00 Game 2: Friday, May 9 @ CE King, 7:00 Game 3: Saturday, May 10 @ CE King, 1:00 (if necessary)
  17. Could be a double meaning. The jury’s still out.
  18. Definitely different than most HS stadiums I’ve seen/attended. They’re going to have a bunch of food trucks, give away commemorative rally towels to the first 4,000, and other stuff. Making a big shindig out of the opening. NE Entrance by Bulldog Centre.
  19. Trump is Rodney Daingerfield to the Democrat’s Judge Smails & Bushwood Country Club members.
  20. Spring Game is May 14 @ 6:00 p.m. First time to have spectators, etc. in the stands. Basically, a ‘Grand Opening.’ Admission is free and open to all.
  21. La Porte 8 Baytown Sterling 4 LP wins series 2-1
  22. La Porte 5 Baytown Sterling 1 LP leads 1-0
  23. Not the same article I was reading about nationwide injunctions. But, if you go to the summary it provides the numbers. Doesn’t include the current Trump Administration numbers like I found in the other article. But, shows from start of 20th century through first Trump. [Hidden Content]
  24. Phillips 66 is also closing & Chevron is relocating HQ to H-Town. Bakersfield has been pretty much down since before I retired. It’s a shell of itself. Strictly small player biodiesel now I believe. Just watch. The Anacortes refinery will be next. Washington State can’t be outdone by Cali. LOL Going to be interesting now that the House has passed the bill to negate Cali’s ability to ban gas vehicles. They’ll be in worse shape than Florida that has to ship everything in via truck or ship.
  25. I’d prefer we go back to the ‘old way’ of requiring a three judge panel at the District Court level to impose a national injunction or vacatur verdict, and use the immigration judge system as was intended. Our Federal Court system isn’t set up to handle thousands of habeas corpus cases for illegal immigrants, and you can rest assured the word is already out to try & flood the system to slow down/halt the immigration crackdown. Congress needs to act to reinstate the old policy that was around until the late ‘70’s/80’s timeframe, and Roberts needs to get his folks in line. The judge shopping needs to stop, as it’s been shown the Judicial Branch can’t seem to regulate itself. Congress can easily revert to the old policy and restore a little sanity/legitimacy. I was reading where the Obama Administration had 6 nationwide injunctions. The Biden Administration had 14 policies stopped with a nationwide injunction. Almost all were handled by judges put in place by Republican Administrations (Other than rulings on student loans & the No Evictions effort that was tried & shot down by SCOTUS). Trump has had 59 national injunctions so far (far more than any other POTUS in history), and 92% were District Court judges appointed by Democratic Administrations. I’d have to find the source again. It was a legal review commission in cooperation with Congressional interest. Congress seems to know it’s a problem. May 15 could be interesting. For those that argue the other guy wasn’t/isn’t following the law, it’s interesting to note that both the Biden & Trump Administrations are ignoring Federal Law passed by Congress to ban TikTok. Selective enforcement isn’t owned by one Party or the other. The Judiciary is quickly losing what credibility it had. When it loses it all, we’ll REALLY have a crisis. I’m no fan of EO’s anyway. So, I’m biased in that regard.
