Wow! All the haters on "select /travel ball"...say what you want about it , but college after college will tell you they don't come and scout high school games because there season is going at that time! Unless your a freak throwing a 100 plus ! Being on travel team with coaches with great connections to colleges and playing in the right tournament's such as Perfect Game in Georgia or Jupiter Florida is crawling with scouts, saw it with my own eyes .  My son has already been scouted by Arkansas and has several other D1 school interested as a freshman last year due to playing in those key tournaments. I don't care what anyone says you dont get that opportunity in high school baseball ! But if your satisfied with high school ball and know your kid is not going anywhere to play after high school .  Then yes save your money and time and play locally! Good times!!!!

i wish people would stop calling it select. it stopped being select decades ago and became tournament teams. you no longer have to be select to play select. you just have to have momma and daddy pay for you to be on the team. 
 

You don't have to have facilities like Carthage or the woodlands but you do need nice upgrades jasper PNG silsbee Sabine pass evadale woodville all are new or fairly new facilities and do benefit from kids transferring from neighboring schools   And kids going to live with grandparents for this reason.schools like Newton and WOS have been immune but jasper could change newtons winning tradition kids will look around and want to leave for greener pastures  LCM could do the same to WOS. Remember the term if you build it they will come.

Ok I'm sorry woodville won't run the score up to much class. So they will pull their starters in the 3rd and keep it close.

Buna is the epitome of Tough. They may not win but Teague will know they were in a battle. This may knock Teague out of a battle next week. The Toll of this game may be to great to overcome.  

I don't have any problems talking trash and will add my 2 cents in here...Woodville WOULD have beaten Newton this year. I've seen them both play and Woodville was much more disciplined on both sides of the ball. And if you buy into that whole common opponents thing, Newton beat us (Kirbyville) by 27, Woodville beat us by 32. Plus Newton beat Corrigan-Camden 43-8. Woodville thrashed them 51-0. Eagleswoodville#1, you gotta throw that political correctness out the window sometimes and back your boys. Yall got it together and would have given Newton a loss this yr. All these Newton folk can only talk and believe me, they're secretly glad yall weren't on their schedule.

Orange field fans will tell you they thought they were prepared for woodville because they hung with kirbyville they still were not ready for the speed woodville has. Woodville has 6 backs with after burners and they stay fresh  come watch you will be impressed

Normally you are correct . The difference is the new coach is running his program to fit the athletes not making the kids fit his program kids are playing the positions they should be

They were glad it was a scrimmage and happy it was cut short because of lightning. multiple concussions. they were to fast and strong, said kids from crockett needed to be tested for roids . scored at will.

as usual someone always misses the point. It takes everyone to have a successful athletic program. why let 1 person be a hard a and ruin something that many parents and kids have worked for since they were 4 yrs old. yes there are some that have spent more time money and energy in their children than others, they should have more say so than little johnnys parents that have done nothing. are you a giver  or a Taker. These parents have given more than their fair share. The coaches would have nothing if not for the encouragement of the parents  and for their children to work for something and be the best.

Coach Wilroy will be missed, 3 state appearances 1 championship multiple trips into the regional round. These will be hard shoes to fill. Good man will not have a hard time finding a job.  

This is a shame to. There are athletes in this county. There needs to be a culture change, it has to start at the top. Just cruise the halls of Tyler county schools. we have both size and speed the kids are willing but no one really puts forth an effort to show the kids how to be successful. It has to start with the parents and go all the way to the administration and coaches. Kids actually transfer out to find someone who will teach them. Lufkin Corrigan  benefit from these kids.   Those programs all have starters on their rosters from Tyler county. 1 Pro athlete actually lived his whole life in Tyler county and finally went to Corrigan to get quality coaching.

Their gene pool usually moves 10mins to the north.
