Why would I want the Rangers to give him a 5 year deal, when he won't make it the duration of the contract?  This guy is older than you would like to see a guy get a deal like that, and his body is even older given his substance abuse issues.... Everyone is down on the Rangers because Napoli, Young and Hamilton are gone, but if you think logically about it, Napoli did not contribute much in 2012, he was streaky but inconsistent, and Young was nothing to write home about either.... I love Michael Young, but it was time for him to go.... Hamilton's production will be tough to replace, no doubt about it.... But I'm excited that guys like Murphy and Gentry will get a chance to be out there more often.... Those guys both hit .300 and Gentry is tough to slow down on the base paths....
I completely agree as far as a 5-year deal goes. Personally, I would not sign anyone to a 5-year deal.

The Rangers did right letting him go, I just wish he would have left the division.  My poor Astros are in for it the next few years./////
You would think they figured it out w/ their Pujols deal.

 6.
This should be a very fun district to watch this year. I believe there will be top level pitching match ups every tuesday and friday. It wouldn't suprise me if any of the top 5 teams were to win the district or get left out of the post season all together. With that being said here is my humble opinion at this time. 1. Nederland- When Duplaint is right he's the best all round player in the district. Without him the bulldogs are good enough to win the district, with him they are the hands down favorites. 2. PNG- Legit #1. If they can fill a few holes on defense left by graduation they will give Ned all they want. 3. Livingston- Lantrip, is the real deal and they showed last year they have enough to go with him to compete with the top teams in the district. Now a year older and a year better. 4. Vidor- Yet another top tier starter, in Smith. I hear Fochee (sp) is looking like a 1a. Add that to returning almost thier entire lineup and the sky is the limit. This might actually be a bit low, but pretty tough list. 5. LCM-The bears return some nice arms but will miss the bats that graduated last year more than people think. Graduated 6or7 hitters. 6. Lumberton- New coach, who I believe will instill the disapline needed for long term success for the raiders, but it might take a year or two. However, I am predicting a big step in the right direction and they will play spoiler for at least one of the top 5. 7. Ozen- Very good #1 starter, they seem to always play the spoiler role, but can't quit crack the top 4. I don't see them having the depth to change that this year. 8. Central-Sorry, don't know much about them. Wow, I gained more respect for the district as a whole just typing that. Can't wait for Spring.
ESPN2...check your personal messages.  Thanks.
 7.
Hope I'm wrong on order Eagle but being realistic
Hard district to predict this year..should be a good one. I'm still looking for pitching...
 8.
1.BH - Have pitching and David Denny 2.Kingwood Park - Always good 3.Dayton - Very young last year, returning all starters except 1. Still Jr's or Soph at 7 starting positions 4.Crosby - Pitcher Tyler Davenport (SR. Texas State)and Hunter Hearn (Newcomer of year) will lead. This should be a tough district within itself. Don't see any team running off with it. Don't know much about teams not listed above so just a guess. Will beat up on each other.
I like the looks of that. Doesn't BH always have pitching ?  ;)
I haven't heard, but I would be suprised if he does. It's just not worth taking the risk IMO.
What grade is BH back QB in?
blake gigout and he will be a senior next year. After watching 4 bh games including elgin I actually think given the reps he is a better allternative.
I wouldn't take that chance either....did he not play in the playoff games?
He did play in both games.
I would be surprised if Denny gives up football.....especially being a QB.  Texas and Auggie Garrido have both said in the past that they do not have a problem with signees playing football and/or other sports. Most schools, including the Horns, will still honor the scholarship if it's not a career ending injury. Just my two cents.
 15. I got a guy in Baytown that can do it.
 16.
For the past few years Thanksgiving has been pretty sweet.  Eat some turkey, watch some football, go to sleep, wake up after Thanksgiving and meet your friends that you haven't seen for a year at the Broncos playoff game.  This one and done stuff has seriously impacted my social schedule.  To top it off, I keep checking the message board out of habit only to be reminded that it's basketball season in Dayton.  Oh well, happy turkey day everyone.  Gobble, gobble.
I feel your pain...Good stuff, Dude. Happy T-day back at ya.

I attended alot of games these past 2 years
why would you be suprised have you heard some other schools he is interested in.
Dont know of any other schools hes looking at although no doubt he will go somewhere. He's an outstanding young man and a heck of an "all around athlete", just have a hard time believing hes UT material. Not trying to downgrade the kid, like I said hes a great kid and athlete.
He did verbally commit to UT.  He has visited several D1 schools in Texas this fall.  He had a fantastic summer including being selected All-American at Perfect Game World Wood Bat National Tournament.  There were well over 100 teams there and his team finished in the top 4.  He can swing it!
And there you have it.. Thanks, Extreme for clearing that up for some. Kid can play.
 20. I would be very surprised if Denny did not play football next year. He's a high school starting varsity QB. (lot of "fringe" benefits with that)  ;)
