I know Sterling has issues, and it was a scrimmage, but BH picked them apart. No kickoff or punt return, but offense was impressive.  OL held their own ag against a bigger Sterling front. Vidor and BH have something to prove in this game. I just wouldn't put all my eggs in a basket on returning starters. It will be a good matchup. Now, let's geaux! Lol

What I think Liltex is saying by using weak is the fact that 4 teams get in.  Not the facility stuff BH has going on, everyone likes that stuff because you need one to do it so other schools will upgrade theirs.

No you wait.  YOU sere the one talking about being such "powerhouse" because Crosby had won 40 games in recent history, not me.  And when a PN-G guys posts video of a 1999 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP game, YOU were the one who made the crack about the players of that game approaching.  Then when it was noted that, by me, that the last (and for that matter ONLY) time Crosby even made a State Championship game occurred was some 39 years before. YOU counter with "Oh that is a different time!" and that Crosby's best players were playing for the all black school implying that if they had merged that history might have been different.  When I point out CONCRETE examples that Crosby wasn't the only community that labored under those conditions, YOU want to tell me that I am talking out of my both sides of my mouth.
And now it "well, the media says we bad, so we bad" and then you retreat in your usual diatribe about SETX teams getting bounced by Houston and Centex teams as if Crosby is somehow different.  Here are the facts, that for all of the wins you have piled up over the likes of the Galena Parks and Porter have not gain Crosby a thing.  During this time where you have hailed as the "powerhouse" days of Crosby, the Cougars have won ZERO state titles.....heck, they haven't even played for one!  Another fact, in the MOST RECENT season, the teams history that you wish to dismiss as "irrelevent" reached THE SAME round of playoffs that Crosby did.  Another fact, while you try to distance yourself from the "SETX" schools, you have been bounced just as hard by the Houston and Centex teams in the playoffs as the "weak" SETX teams.
And what title predictions, Dave Campell's doesn't even have you getting to the State Championship game, much less winning the title.  But go ahead and print out the predictions, and the preseason accolades because if this season ends like most for the Cougars, that will be all you have to clutch to.

I get what you are saying and history doesn't get you a free pass.  On Thursday of next week, every team in this state will be 0-0 and what happened 20 years ago, 2 years ago or even last year won't mean squat.  Which, I might add is a good thing because last year, the Port Neches-Groves Indians got just as close to the Class 5A, Division II state championship as the Crosby Cougars.
So what do you gain, by poo-pooing PN-G's storied past?  Dismissing it doesn't give Crosby a leg up this year and it doesn't change Crosby's history, either. Sure, if Drew and Crosby High had integrated, the Cougars may have made a few more championship games.  But there are several in our coverage area that can make that claim.  If Wallace High (who earned back to back PVIL titles in the 1950s) had merged with Orange High and West Orange High much sooner, I'd lay pretty good odds that WO-S would have a couple of more titles under their belt.  What could have stopped that from occurring is if Port Arthur High (later Thomas Jefferson who had some success on its own), Lincoln High (who also garnered a few PVIL championships) and Port Acres High (later Stephen F. Austin) would have merged before the 1990s, which would have greatly increased Memorial's chances of title success.  And neither of those probably would have occurred if the South Park ISD had not waited until being ordered by a federal judge in 1981 to merge Forest Park High with Hebert High, who had made the PVIL its personal playground, thus giving West Brook a pretty good shot at more titles.
This year, Crosby has an excellent team led by a great coach with as, you and others have demonstrated, a very enthusiastic fan base.  And yes, Crosby has a better than average chance of playing deep into December.  But Crosby folks should know this better than anyone, the number of wins in the past few years will get you the same as PN-G's past titles will, nada.

Hint, nobody likes Crosby because they good, nobody likes BH because they are snooty  (not really, but I guess some might be), PNG don't like Nederland and vice versa (Mid County thing) , Nobody likes Vidor because they think everyone is a rival, nobody like Lumberton because they have a train horn and blew up the site for two years with L-Train, nobody likes PAM because Xbox is playing daddy ball and should be making deep playoff runs, nobody likes Ozen because they can't keep a coach, nobody likes Central because they struggle with mid county teams and have bad luck, nobody likes WOS because nobody seems be able to beat them in the viewing area, nobody likes Dayton because they have 22-5a's number even in down year's  and Coach Stewart was the Messiah,  nobody likes Livingston because they have annoying announcer, nobody likes Hardin Jefferson because they only care about basketball, nobody cares about Silsbee because they and Hardin Jefferson have a love hate relationship,  and finally, nobody likes each other because they're homers, and take pride in their teams and hardly ever admit when they're wrong. Lol

Cougar 14.2 has a fascination with BH for some reason. Every time BH is brought up, he chimes in with his professional insight. Nobody ever said we were going to beat everyone in district, nobody said we have the best talent in the district, nobody said any of the crap you delusional under performing Crosby people keep spewing. You're a good area team, but you aren't squat outside this area. That's TRUTH right there. We get on here to dicuss our school's, but you jack legs down every school ya'll can, especially BH and Dayton. Worry about ya'll and we'll worry about us. Been on here since 2008, Crosby people were hush, hush, put together a string of good seasons and now everybody sucks because they don't have a load D1 football players? Get out of here with that crap.
BTW, we've only been running a new system for 3 freaking weeks. We've literally went whole seasons with throwing the ball maybe 20 to 30 times. Now, we will be throwing that in a half of a game. It's going to take time.

At last night's meeting, the Crosby ISD Board of Trustees approved the construction of the final project of the 2013 bond.
The new Cougar Baseball / Softball Complex will be located behind the New CHS. It will consist of:
2 Baseball Fields (All artificial turf)
2 Softball Fields (All artificial turf)
Varsity Fields' Bleachers will be covered
The scheduled completion date is 2/1/17.

BH spring game moved to Tuesday 5/24 @ 7:30 due to BH baseball playoff game Wednesday night.

No I think you missed the real point and that is producing quality young men who can learned to be successful through discipline and hard work. Sports are only temporary and most programs will never become a powerhouse or even win a State Title. The programs that do usually have great parent, community support and dedicated/committed players who invest in their own futures. The coaches have invested time in their communities and have most times established good relations. Parents make sure their kids go to class, practice and offseason workouts. This usually is a good start to building a winning program but if anything we want young men with winning character who can contribute positively to their community. As the dust gathers on that coveted State Trophy in the end these young men's lives being successful will look even better! Now that's winning.

I have (FINALLY) completed the emailing out of SETXsports Questionnaires in the area coaches in preparation of getting the previews done, which will again start on July 1st.  In fact, I have already received some responses from coaches and appreciate it.
There have been some e-mails that have been bounced back to me and I will work to get them taken care of.

The part I like most is that nobody will go both ways.  In my opinion, makes for a better team in the long run...

Just a update for BH. I have attended almost all of the practices for BH since I have a son playing. These coaches have brought a different level of of excitement and a up tempo style practice and the kids have bought in 100%. No one is standing around picking their nose or scratching their butts everyone is envolved. BH has taken a different turn in the way they are practicing and it shows. One thing for sure is that a single kid on the field will play both ways. We are at least 2 deep at every position on both sides of the ball. From our inter squad scrimmages our 1st team D is a freaking beast. Our offense is pretty good as well. Our Seniors are being leaders and the sophomores are stepping up and turning heads. 

If you build it, they will come.
We can't just let everything rust and deteriorate. Stallworth was once the premiere facility in East Texas. We need to at least throw some paint on it and fix the parking lots.
 

Love the rivalry!!! Takes two good teams to have a real rivalry. 

I just paid this for my son on this deal. $200 to attend. Looks like a good program.  We'll see what it does for the kids.

I could care less what DFW or what Crosby does in the off season ,I was talking about BH's new clinic sponsored by "Under Armour" simple enoungh - obviously by your inference you have low comprehension skills. We seen what Riordan looks like when he has all the best D-1 mecca players on the field in the secound round.

If you care to re-read, I didn't brand any person a racist.   I discussed racist statements.  I feel bad that we live in a society where people saying "a person of color should get that job" is ok, but saying "a white person should get that job" is a racial atrocity.  Or saying "Blacks don't make good QBs" is racist, but saying "a team can't win unless they have black players" is justified.  The statements are the same. 
It might be rare to find an all-white team that wins on occasion, but it's not hard at all to find hundreds of diverse teams that lose all of the time.  That kinda invalidates the whole "you gotta have black athletes to win" argument.
