I disagree with you about this. You need to play your starters and tune up for Dayton. You don't need to go into the playoffs with a loss. I'm hoping the Pirates play with heart and get something to build on for next year.

And yes, I care plenty.  I have a son playing in this program right now, and we aren't interested in participation medals.  However, regardless of how his high school career turns out or how many playoff wins he experiences I know he has experienced a program that will have a very positive impact on his life.  Your profile has you in Katy, so I'm not sure how invested you are in Vidor anymore.  For some of us it's more that chirping on a message board.

Congrats to lumberton and there 1st year head coach on a complete turnaround! No excuses here, sometimes a little new blood and a hungry coach can make things happen... Kids must believe in him and his system! Awesome job Raiders!

Remind me again...first years coach against coach with 17 years as head coach...something is not right here.  Smaller enrollment.  Amazing what new blood can do to a program.  Stats and records do not lie.

The only thing I know for sure, is that me and my gang will be there (oh, and that my Packers will be 7-0 Sunday). lol  I am done with predictions at this point.....

If I remember correctly, back in 2001 Lumberton could've clinched their first playoff spot. It was the last week of the season. Vidor won that one 28-21. Very chippy game I covered.

Yeah, but we had 6 huge  passing yards last Thursday night. Prettiest play I've ever seen. Liltex and WOSgrad had to hold on to me to keep me from jumping out of the stands.

We have always parked in front of the school so there was never an issue.  Most visitors also park across the street, in front of the school.  There is a grass area used for parking directly across from the visiting entrance, but those are for folks who paid for a parking pass way before the season even started.

You know what's funny: a few years ago Ozen NEEDED a big win from Vidor in order to make the playoffs. Vidor didn't need the win as they already clinched a spot. But Vidor DID IT for those Panther kids. They thanked and embraced each other after the game, and even during the playoffs. Furthermore, the two teams shared workouts at each other's schools and the teams grew bonds. Racial barriers seemed broken....That was just a few years ago and Ozen is just as black as Central. My point is why in the hell do WE EACH keep going back in time. Now I understand why I took a break from "messysports.com"

This is my favorite week in the whole year  (and I don't have much of a life). Its funny when the boss knows you wont be to work on Friday cause you consider it a holiday

For some reason they have chosen not to play any games on Saturday at Stallworth this year.  More than likely it is driven by financial reasons.
Personally, Saturday is for college football. I despise Saturday high school games. Just feels wrong.
Look on the bright side, you will only have to cross that bridge next season if REL is left in your district (which I highly doubt).

Nice, a winning touchdown pass to end a clutch scoring drive.  Sounds like it was  an exciting 4th qtr.
