Orangefield loses some key players including their probably their second and third best players (although imo they return their best player and their second most talented player). The Thomas kid has the tools to be really special before it’s all said and done. So that being said, I would say OF should be competing for district once again. And Scales will continue on his path to be the best to lace ‘em up in Bobcat country.
Agree with this. I do think they take a small step back next year, but Scales’ senior year should be a regional tournament team.

Thanks for the info! I know they have some really good kids coming up too. And to be honest, in terms of skill and upside, after Scales, the Thomas kid appeared to me to have the highest ceiling. He looks like he could be a really good one over the next couple of years. Did a lot of things pretty well, especially for a sophomore. But they are definitely losing some key pieces. Forgot about Rawls. Wrinkle got most of the praise out of that group (and he definitely deserved it - he played really hard and was super gritty), but all 4 of those guys were indispensable in that run. Hopefully the young guys coming up will fill in those gaps. But as we discussed when he was hired, love that we have Whitmire and his staff developing those kids.
Absolutely. One of the best staffs in the area. I would guess both assistants will be head coaches in the next few years.

Thanks for the replies to my question guys, I was just curious. Hitchcock probably headed for a showdown with Kountze in the regional finals. Any opinions on that matchup?
I don’t see the zone pressure doing much to these guards. And if it’s a half court game, it won’t be close

How do you think this Hitchcock team would stack up against Silsbee's basketball team?
They don’t have a Harris, and although they hit 5 or 6 threes tonight on us I don’t think they’re a great shooting team. I’d say Silsbee by 20ish

They just have way too much firepower. One of their kids I know well is junior Elijah Sherwood. Really good kid. You could argue he’s the third best player on that team. He would also probably be the best wing in the history of Orangefield basketball. We would need to shoot the ball as well as we possibly could shoot it even be in the game. Still a great season for the Bobcats, record setting season in wins and record tying season in playoff wins. Future is very bright.
Agree with all of this. Never would have thought I’d see OF at this level of play consistently. Future is extremely bright for them.
congrats to Hitchcock. Extremely well coached to go along with the talent.

What happened to Kane?! Saw he just had to come out with an injury.
Honestly not sure. Very awkward looking non contact play.

This will be a good position for at least the next two years. Really good group about to be juniors.
Shocked by this move as well. Robertson was one of the top coaches in the area in my opinion.
