1. Congratulations to all these young men!
 2. Thanks for the update...I guess my son was too busy playing to let me know  ;D
 3. Jordan is an all around good kid. I've had the pleasure of working with him and his parents for the last couple years on the AAU circuit. He is definitely one that puts in the work and improves every time he steps foot on the floor.
 4.
Man.  Brook is not good and the coaching is.........very average.  That's as nice as i can be.  Hope this isn't bashing.
My sentiments about Ozen....
 5.
not thugs? yea all kids just go around and take stuff from stores. come on dont drink the ozen kool-aid . kick them off the team for good , teach them a lesson , hard yes but they might just learn something from this
Instead of ranting and raving on this forum, why don't you mix up the kool aid and go to Ozen and help make a difference? I have a child at Ozen that's on the football team, the basketball team and also track team and he is far from being a thug.
 6.
You do know the assistant coach tried to pay for what they stole and cover it up....
I must have missed that in the article....how would you know that unless you were directly involved? Were you the assistant coach?
 7. Any updates on Central vs WOS?
 8.
All 3 Bmt schools lost today. Memorial lost to LCM! I witnessed  alot of local unhappy fans and coach bashing.
Hope you weren't sitting by me because I was doing some coach bashing but I did it quietly lol....I just don't see how you had a team that was taking care of business without the football players but as soon as football season is over with you scrub the ones that have worked hard for you and the football players are back on the court full-time. I'm not taking anything away from the football players but give them more than 2 days to adjust. I think our football players did well on the court but a wise coach knows to not have all of them on the court at the same time at this point. IMO
 9. In the 2 games that I have actually seen Silsbee play, one of the things that worries me is fouls. Today Thomas and Holmes left in the 3rd qtr because of foul trouble. I'm not sure that Silsbee has the bench just yet, I may be wrong....
 10.

I heard that Kountze got a point guard from Ozen or somewhere, Harpers (freshmans) brother...Will he be able to play Varsity...
When did this happen? If he's a Harper FROM Ozen that it would have to be Darrion Harper who was a WR on Ozen's Varsity football team. He has Kountze ties. I think they're cousins though. Don't know the validity of the rumor.
To my understanding Darrion Harper who was a WR for Ozen has transferred to Kountze, his father is a coach there now. I've had the pleasure of watching Darrion play along with my son from elementary, to middle school, to high school and also AAU. He definitely will be missed.
 11. Montana, Jakobi and several others are probably sitting back laughing at all of this and thinking that we are crazy. We can debate this til they graduate next year. I look forward to seeing just what they have in store for us all next year. It was a great season and I'm so ready for the next one!
 12. Now Enjun the reason I think Quirante is the MVP of the district is you have to ask yourself this question. Could Jakobi do what Quirante did and vice versa. IMO anything Jones did Quirante could do if he was in his position. I mean q had 1000+ yards rushing (that's only 400 behind Jones) and still passed for almost 400 AND lead the team in tackles AND had one interception AND punted 4 times this year. Now ask yourself this. Could Jakobi Jones do all that? . .. ... .... ..... .... ... .. . And that is why i think Quirante deserved the MVP title.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda - who's to say that Jones couldn't have done that had he been put in the position to have to? You can't and I definitely can't and I won't try to. Trust me I'm not knocking Quirante because he is one among many. HONESTLY I don't have to ask myself that question because I wasn't in the position to vote. Now if you want, we can start a poll on here for MVP that way our votes and opinions will count. Not sure that that vote will have any impact on whoever wins because it's just our opinions and we won't put a small 2x1 picture in the Beaumont Enterprise.
Your a lil late man. Already did that lol. Montana is still leading the votes.
I'm sure I voted for him as well but I don't think that my vote helps him sleep better at night nor does it change the remarkable season he had and neither does what the Beaumont Enterprise posts is all I'm saying....Every young man that made that list and even some that didn't are very deserving....next year maybe it should just be a list of names then we can put them where we see fit lol...Great job guys in the best district there ever was!
 13. Why can't we see how many coaches voted for MVP, OVP, and DVP like we can towards the bottom for other positions? Furthermore why can't they tell us which coaches voted for whom so we can give those ^&*%$^ a piece of our mind along with our opinions that don't think the same way we do? Don't they know our opinions should be counted too?

IMO it should've gone to Chase Bertand or Montana Quirante. Those were the leading scorers in the district. Jayce wasn't even in the top 5.
but he was one of the most feared if not most feared player in the district...and had the most recieving yards by a long shot...was double and triple covered this year and still had a 1000 yards recieving...i think they got that one right
Enjun you set that up!
lol im up for debate..i like to hear ppls opinions about players...ill go ahead and say i dont think quirante should of gotten MVP..hes a great player but not the MVP of the district..im in favor of jones as the MVP
Now you are just stirring up the pot lol.....I give credit where credit is due and all of these young men are worthy. People look at Quirante because he played both sides of the ball and I can't argue with that. Jones took care of the rushing yards and led the district and I'm sure that's where his votes came from. Mind you, these votes were posted BEFORE playoffs. Neither of these kids' accomplishments were gone unnoticed nor were they in vain. I'd just hate for any of them to get on here and read some of the comments and feel slighted in anyway. That's why all my comments are positive and I keep my personal opinions that everyone may not agree with to myself. A great job to each and every individual represented!
 16. But the Bench clearing DID happen during the game!
I don't condone what happened on neither side and I am disappointed that Ozen's great season will be remembered because of the unfortunate incident. I knew that something was inevitable to happen besides 4 quarters of football even before the game started. While the players were warming up and stretching, one of Lamarque's players came across the 50 to where Ozen was and "taunted" them, he had to be restrained back to Lamarque's side by his coaches. But because this was pregame, nothing can be done about that either. The handshake should not have taken place after the game.
 17.
Might want to include Ozen in YMBL winner brackets, they will be right in the thick of things.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't do that! We like being the "underdog", just ask the football team.  :D
 18.

Oh, and Dove came by the broadcast table after the game showing off his Hamshire-Fannett stadium seat!!! Dove, you got to get with the program, you're a Panther now!
Yep Aggie, I gotta get use to my new surroundings (again).
Don't worry we, Panthers, are easy to get along with and are great company contrary to popular belief...great to have you and your family aboard. From what I've heard and what I saw during the JV game last night, the DOVES are a welcomed addition.
 19.
I think that each coach should hold these kids accountable. During a basketball game (playoff game) were I went to school our school player got into a fight with a guy on the losing team. Coach Gaston benched the palyer and we lost out of the playoffs by 4 points. Small school politics could not budge him on his punishments. These kids now days are not allowed to be punished for there bad actions. I adopted a child and as part of the adoption I had to sign a waiver saying I would never use corpal punisment of any kind or have the child removed from my home. If my child were one of the players he would have a parent suspension and alot worse period. So as we set here and lay blame on these kids lets also blame these people at school, at home, and in our goverment who allow this crap to go on. Prime example is the people from Lamarque calling for no suspension of there football players for the playoffs. Thats saying its ok when your in the playoffs to act out. Parents from both schools need to step up and hold these kids accountable. Lamarque and Ozen stand up and hold your kids accountable dont wait on the UIL and skate by.
Trust me, mine was taken care of Saturday night and still is upset with me today but he will get over it and learn from it. I have taught him to never be the instigator but I've also taught him to defend himself when all else fails. He was hit by not 1 but 2 of Lamarque's players and felt that after turning the 1st cheek, he had ran out of cheeks to turn and in the heat of the moment he reacted. Well he will have alot of idle time to think about his actions and what he could have done differently.
 20.
Shoulda woulda coulda Tigers won fair and square! Ozen shot almost more free throws that they scored points. Crazy!
Yeah you right - shoulda woulda coulda......Not taking anything away from Silsbee BUT when your returning football players spend most of the time on the court with maybe 4 hours of basketball practice you see these things. Trust me Ozen will get it together.
 21.
Who wins?
Yours went down early in the game and of course I was looking for you and of course I fussed at him....tell him he has those ankle braces before the game for a reason - PUT THEM ON so he doesn't have to leave the game to do so.

Should be a great game.
I expect Green, Jones and a couple of other football players to play for Ozen, but not much. Silsbee will try to run these guys and just don't see them quite ready for a full game particularly after just playing Saturday in a very physical football game versus LaMarque.
Don't think Ozen's football boys are "basketball" ready so I don't think they will make much of a difference IMO
Actually, I saw two of the Ozen players from football who looked like they never lost a step. Jakobi (sp?) Jones and the maybe the other was named Williams, not sure. He had a nice game.
Kourtney Williams.... We (Ozen) missed too many free throws.
 23.

Quirante is a great player, but how can the Defensive MVP not come from the district's best defense?  That doesn't make any sense to me.  Corbin Carr was the most dominant defensive player that I saw all season.
Got no problem with that if you make Montana MVP. How are you a leader on both sides of the ball and not MVP? Totally agree with you. Seems to me the voting wasn't done according to the stats or the obvious for that matter. I have no idea what these individuals based the voting on but they didn't get it right. Period.
Exactly!  They did not get it right.  Period.  If a player dominates on both sides of the ball, they are the MVP.  Period.  The voting is biased and wrong.  If the coaches voted, they voted wrong.
Again these are your opinions just as well as the coaches had their opinions. Continuing to go on and on about it won't change the coaches opinions nor will it change the outcome. GET OVER IT! I'm sure none of these kids are so concerned about it as the adults are. I could honestly see if there was a full ride scholarship or something to that affect tagged along with the nominations but all it is is a picture in the newspaper and something else for the adults to argue about. All of these kids had a great season and I don't think that it takes a coach's vote to tell them that. Some people on this site go to sleep bitter, wake up bitter and be bitter all day long. I won't slight any kid because of my opinion. Congratulations again to the kids on a job well done.
 24. I would like to say that we lost to the team that won state but not in this case - Let's go Manvel!!!!!!!!
 25. Great job Malamo! Hate to see you go! Good luck to you!
