  1. The folks who make predictions have a hard time, because you can truly throw the records out in most cases when these two face off, including this year.  Last year, Nederland was by far the better football team, and probably should've won by the 14 being predicted by the experts.  But this game rarely plays out how you think and normally comes down to the 4th quarter.  Good luck boys, make a memory.

I’d still like to see him get a chance, but my hunch is Texas decided he wasn’t really going to work at QB, or they might have tried harder to get him back in the QB room. But he could certainly QB against Nederland. The question is how will Nederland handle losing 4 in a row?

How many TD passes or passing yards did RJ have in his MCM career?  The dude straight ran the football down Nederland's throat for 3 straight years... so I think UT got it right.  The kid will be playing on Sunday's in a couple of years.

    Perfect answer!  Thanks!

Barrow always adjusts to his personnel.  Last year they had a big athletic full back, so they ran more 3 wr sets with the fullback.  This year is anybody's guess how it lands, as it doesn't look like they are still figuring out the backfield situation.

Woodberry got singled up all day by one of Crosby’s corners and got his. Our corner made the plays that were needed though, including a crucial one late.

Crosby pretty much played Marshall straight up. Crosby started to shade and help over the top some in the second half before he got ejected but it wasn’t anything outside the normal coverage you would play on a kid that needs extra attention. They may not be the highest rated players but the best two high school receivers I’ve seen Crosby in the field with is Jalen Preston from Manvel and AJ Dugat from Dayton. Marshall is significantly better than those two and he’s just a junior.

I mentioned all that to say there’s no question Earle is going to get his. However, I like how Crosby matches up the rest of the way outside. I think Crosby’s offense is going to have decent success against Aledo’s defense. The biggest question for Crosby is going to be how well we contain Demarco Roberts? We do a good job there and Crosby’s chances to come home with a ring greatly increase.

I think Preston is/was as good as the Marshall kid, but like you said, Marshall isn't done yet.

Really not a statement that oru defense couldn't shut them down but you're going into the game thinking this might be a shoot out with Crosby. If Nederland was going to beat FBM it was gonna be a game like PNG had with them 21-14. I hope Crosby plays great defense if they do they should win this game.

Crosby will handle the FBM running game, then it's just containing the big play to Marshall, he's a handful.

Analogy is dead on, I’ll slow it down for you.

    1. Nederland needed to play ball control because they were not going to win in a shootout

    2. The thought process is Crosby will have to win in a shootout(I’m guessing the thought process is because that particular Coug fan doesn’t think Crosby will be able to shut down FBM like Huntsville may have)

    3. Then you get on here calling people lunk head.  Do better, if you agree with someone’s opinion fine.  If he fires back then we know how the 409 good ole boy stuff works.

Nederland did try to play ball control, and got manhandled on the line of scrimmage.  When they had a chance for a big play early, didn't convert what looked to be a TD pass, special teams had an early mishap, Ned got off to a bad start and never was able to swing any momentum.  Crosby should be able to fire some early shots and be in the game to win it.

The last time I remember Nederland having a defense Bulldog fans were high on they came to Crosby and give up 56, lost by 21. Gave up less than 10ppg in district play that year. That's irrelevant now but I would point out that in order for Crosby to score 55 on this version of Nederland they only have to be 20 points better than BH who we've already beaten by 27. I don't think Crosby will get 55 either but it's not because of your defensive stops, it's because Nederland will play at a slow pace to try to keep the ball away from Crosby's offense.

Maybe that's why he said he doesn't see 55... maybe he's seen Nederland play and has an idea of how they'll gameplan?

This one isn't going to be close. Nederlands one trick pony offense is about to get blasted. BH had their wake up call early against Crosby and seems to have cleaned up that O-line a bit. Unless yall got a D1 nose tackle that will eat BH's center alive all game like Crosby's did then this ones a sure thing no doubt 100% Eagle win.

    Eagles 42 - 14 Nederland and that's a cold hard lock.

Tell me about this one trick pony... when I see them play, they have two or three stallions.
