I sympathize with the Central seniors after watching it happen to Nederland last year. Hate that for the players, hopefully the outcomes of the games tonight make this a moot point.

I'm not sure that bringing intense pressure is the right approach. I'd rather see him stay in that pocket and force him to beat us differently than he did last year.

If any Ned fans are looking for excuses for the upcoming loss Pakronos has a plethora of them I’m sure he’d be willing to share
That would be impressive if there were still some untapped.

Refs blew calls for both Ned and PAM, if not for a phantom fourth down face mask after Nederland stoned PAM late in the 3rd qtr, Ned wins. So Shut up about the calls in that game, they evened out.

So its classless to talk about Larry, but ok to talk about running Faircloth out of town, kinda double standard, but i expect that from the Ned Faithful
I have never, ever, ever talked or joked about running a high school coach out of town. I have even tempered the discussion. The high school coaches of our teams have a VERY difficult job, and I applaud all of them. Brandon faircloth is as class an act as they come, that's why Nederland fans don't call him uncle Faircloth, like we should according to SOME. Let's respect the men who give so much of their time for our boys to play!

The game it begins. Bulldogs ready to bite. Super Shug scores left, middle & right. Unsure what to do, to LN they do shout. But, his only response, "That's why l got out!" Why the game was over before it began, Thanks to
PNG INDIANS & SUPER SHUG MAN!
You're better than the lame LN comments. Always thought PNG was about Honor, Pride, Tradition... guess some of that is lip service. This is a great rivalry, respect It, talk some trash, talk about the ditch parking we'll all do, but the LN comments are as classless as they come

Maybe reading my post again will help...I said arguably the most balanced. Is that straight enough?
They'll find out, Nederland offense is balanced and tough as nails.

Some were all over LN jock for years, and years, and years, over how he outcoached his team... this has been hilarious to read, I wish I cared enough to go pull all the doomsday MCM posts because LN had and would find a way to win.

Too bad both teams can't win. I have so much respect for Nederland (despite a general hatred that lasts for seven days once a year). They'll be ready to make a game of it. I hope isn't a blow out (on either end). In the greatest rivalry in Texas (Who are we kidding, the greatest high school rivalry in the WORLD), I want to see a duel, not a massacre.
That being said, there seems to be a general assumption that Nederland's defense is better than PNG's. They do have the 13 points given up against Memorial on their resume, but other than that the defensive performances have been similar. At this point we have played the same district opponents, and both teams have given up 112 and 113 points, respectively (don't remember which one is which). If anything, the defenses are equal. Nederland also has yet to defend a true passing offense in this district (though one could argue that Nederland's offensive attack is the second most consistent, so PNG also has its hands full).
I have trouble accepting the idea that PNG's defense is objectively bad. We have played well in every game, stepping up respectably against Memorial, the second best team in the district. There are certainly better defenses out there, but when I look at scores across the state, a lot of really good teams give up comparable points. This defense has weaknesses, but they are consistent, they tend to tackle well, and they fly around. We are more than up to the task against Nederland. Now we just have to see how the ball bounces.
Wishing both teams the absolute best of luck. And I hope Nederland appreciates the honor of being defeated by PNG Jk, but seriously.
That's a hot take, well broken down, maybe not well received with the facts and all

there you go living in the past again. That is all the bulldog faithful are good for, we won 6 years in a row. Well after this Friday PNg will be 2-0 in the last two meetings. Gonna give yall a loss on your field just to add a lil insult to injury. Sorry last year or the 6 before it don't matter, all that matters is this week and the end result, a bulldog loss!
I thought it was pretty clever. I never take anything away from a team that beats us, that's what being a winner is all about.

I guess when the clock strikes o.oo and there is no time left, the dogs will be crying and the Indians will Be smiling.
Im sure there will be excuses, the Refs, the trick plays, Illegal holding calls that took away touchdowns. Shoulda woulda coulda, we have a 6 year streak but in the end that is all you will have to hold on to is a 6 year streak. yall keep living in the past, this is the present and there is a purple and white tribe coming to Invade Nederland Friday night. Lets go ahead and hear yalls excuses now. Lets see how colorful and creative the Bulldogs can be.We've won enough over the past 6-7 years to know that the better team wins. Unless we have a PNG receiver shove a DB to the ground and then immediately celebrate with his lineman downfield... then we'll have to discuss.

The Dogs ain't flinching, we're gonna talk all week about the dominant PNG offense, led by the future QB of Texas, it is awesome to get to play against a talent like RJ/LK in this game, but The Dogs and their coaching staff, Barrow and all the others who have been there for the 20 plus year dominance. They know this rivalry and will have Nederland ready. All this to say, we hope RJ/LK has to do more than handoff in the 2nd half. We'll be ready... I got special ditch parking for Stat, holler at me when you get outta the woods

Seems like he retired a year too late...
Look at his body of work, he wore PNG out, they know it. Johnson is on a trajectory to be a multi-generational great at PNG, so no shame in losing to the LK. Neumann dominated almost two and a half decades of this rivalry. Tip your cap and move the heck on.

Giving passes on comments for those around the lease fires. He is a LK, but LN oozes pride and class and you know It. Eventually somebody will bump into your turntable, your record is skipping.

Got to admit, I have been following this age group for years and knew the Dogs would be down at this point, but Barrows has done a good job at keeping them competitive. I have no doubt that they will come out strong. If our defense plays strong I don't think it will be close. I do believe our Defensive backs will be tested more in this game which is good considering the possibility of BH in the first round. Here's to hoping there are no injuries.
Down?? Dude, those kids are a few plays made from being undefeated, but whatever makes you feel good. You were pounding that drum before the year, so I guess you gotta stick with it.
Congrats Big Ned
