1.
These are great points ,coming form fokes that have never been in a collage or Pro. lockerroom at halftime when your behind. Coach K and Knight have a way to get the point across using a few very choise word at the right time. But a guess its all personal. But if your son is getting ready to head to a collage program, they had better get ready for the real world. Its not all rosses and candy. And if they not ready to hear profanity directed toward them they might wont to check into playing at a church leauge on weekends.
True you have no idea how many or what type locker rooms the people voiceing these opions have been in, but several have sat in college locker rooms and some have sons who are currently involved in college programs.I can also guarantee you that some that are really good players do actually play in church leagues on weekends. To insinuate that you have to cuss or berate your players to be successful is insane. There are several ways to lead people in any profession or sport but the very best ones are usually those who display the most character.
2. I like DC's game and he is probably the best local player this year but he is going to really have to develope his outside game to get many minutes at a mid major. That being said he has the potential to develope that part of his game.

You can get the kids attention without the use of profanity. All the really well respected coaches need to get a players attention is a stern look and a whistle. As far as the real world example goes, just sit in on any board meeting at a well run company and the last thing you'll hear is a bunch of profanity. They won't even cuss when they tell ya to hit the bricks  ;D
We are not talking about a board room with a bunch of suits and ties, We're talking about sports locker rooms. Just go in a locker room in the NFL or MBA and see what is going on. I would say that the Dallas Cowboys are a well run company along with the LA Lakers.. There two different worlds and what works in one does not work in the other. But like I asked What age kids are you talking about?? Little Dribblers and Jr High..  NO  .. High school?? It all depends on the coach..
The quickest way to get anyone to QUIT taking you serious is to spout a bunch of profanity laced garbage. The really good leaders in ANY proffesion will have people leaing in to listen when they talk.

5. These two groups need to set down and hash out their differences ,elect a qualified board and put all this mess behind them. One thing is evident and that is this split is hurting both chapters but more importantly is hurting the game.Come on guys there are far too many good officials around here to put folks on the floor who aren't ready to call varsity games.
6. This thread should be a tribute to the job Coach English has done. Can they win state? Answer No.Will they play as well as they possibly can? Answer Yes. Will the club they play be better prepared? Answer No. One thing for sure ,the program is headed in the right direction or we wouldn't be having this topic discussed.Congrats Dogs on a great season !!!!
7.
Wow thats a shocker.
This shouldn't surprise anyone.I had EC winning by 6 at EC.Kountze still has a little better club and I think will win the seeding game but it will be close.I've seen the Bucs several times this year and have been impressed every time I've seen them.
8. Linn will have to be rusty but I'm glad to see him back. When he went down at HJ I thought he was done for the year. Was the leg broken? It sure looked like it.
9.
IMO if their big hole is at the point they will be in big trouble.
Not where you wanna be weak going in to the playoffs.
10. You will see a lot of teams at the drum that play a patient ball control type game and it seems that most of them come from the north end of the region. The one thing they all have in common is discipline and they win.Ponder,Peaster,Argyle are just a few that come to mind. They always make you beat them and never beat themselves.
11. That stuff is goin around AAW hope you get well quick.I completely lost my voice for a week earlier this month, happiest I ever saw my wife.
12. I think Kountze has a little better club and on a neutral floor I would give them an edge but EC wins this one by 6. EC-66 Kountze-60
13. Come on folks if this is getting under your skin you gotta get a new hobby.Take it for what it is and that's just a light hearted jab between guys who don't know each other. If I had to finish the statement it would be ,Stevenash is "entitled to his opinion" No one else has to agree with it.
14. I'll take Goodrich by 6 at home but I wouldn't bet on the fight ,that's almost a sure thing  ;D
15. I have seen them called a violation if contact is not made. It's a completely different call once contact is made and intent is ALWAYS an interpretation.
16. You are right on CATMAN.The district doesn't even compare with what it has been over the last 4 or 5 years.Evadale is a well coached club,Coach Williams gets everything they have to offer. They have the same problems that all small schools have and that's some holes that will create matchup nightmares once the playoffs start.I think great is an overstatement to say the least.
17.

When they are at full strength I still would pick them as the best 1-a school locally.I knew they would miss Daniel's scoring but I think the miss his leadership the most.
Whsalum Spurger has a tough road ahead of them. They have got to play Redhorse and Goodrich on the road they could have 4 L when dist is over.It a tough dist. this year.
I know that's right CATMAN ,you just can't hardly beat Leggett and Goodrich at home.Do they just have 1 district loss so far ???
18. When they are at full strength I still would pick them as the best 1-a school locally.I knew they would miss Daniel's scoring but I think the miss his leadership the most.
19. Any club would miss Travis, he's a great coach.I'll be glad to see him return to the bench where he belongs.
20. Homecoming????? That's almost unfair to have a 3-a school that doesn't play football.
21. I gotta start paying closer attention LOL.
22. This will really hurt Spurgers chances at the district crown, Goodrich is alway tough to beat at their place. Is Spurger healthy or do they miss Blankenship this bad? I looked for them to really be strong this year.
23. Folks the sky isn't falling, you're dealing with 15-16 and 17 year old kids coming off a HUGE game last week. Both HJ and Silsbee will get back to normal. It's impossible for any coaching staff to keep these kids focused 24/7.Look on the bright side, the Tigers played a sub par game and still WON by 7.
24. When did we start a basketball pick em,I haven't seen that  :(
25.
Have heard comments about how other new coaches have turned things around in programs. Warren has gone from doormat to competitive in district (although not on the level of EC or Hardin) Just sayin
The girls program at Warren has been decent for the past few years however not on the same level as their softball or volleyball programs. If you look at their record they are about where they have been for the last 2 or 3 years. The young lady that coaches them may well turn in to a good varsity coach but it's way to early in her career to put a stamp on her credentials. To say she has turned the program around from a doormat is inaccurate. The lady that coached the club last year has a state title on her resume and knew how to really teach the game. There are a lot of seniors on this club so this should be one of their better clubs in recent years.I hope they do develope and wish them well.
