1. This is becoming a lost art in the high school game.I have watched a ton of games this season and I have never seen so many kids with such poor form. You see them standing with their feet sideways, taking their eye off the rim and even putting a loop in the release. This used to be taught for hours in practice but it seems like it's completely overlooked in todays game. This time of year it's the difference between winning and losing.
2. Scoring can be misleading,if a get gets 10 or 12 against weak clubs or when the game is decided they mean absolutely nothing. On the other hand if he averages 20 and starts you know he's seeing the other clubs best.FYI-With the current state of our public school finances I wouldn't make any moves for athletic purposes. It's not only illegal it may change before you get checked in.
3. I hope I'm wrong but I 'm not sure either club will be in the regional tournament.I haven't pulled up a playoff bracket but you usually start seeing some pretty good clubs after the first round of the playoffs that can really exploit weaknesses.True that has been my point all year with the Rebels, you can sub one big man (I don't think it makes any difference which one ) and you always have fresh legs on the boards.#32 and #43 seem to play with alot of controlled emotion so I would probably  start those 2.The shooting guard has a chance to really become a good player but he will have to learn to creat his own shot next year.BS is gonna be a pretty good club as they mature in the next few years.CATMAN are there any more McKinney's in Dallardsville :)
4. I didn't say who had been coming off the bench True.I said from watching their personnel the line up tonight is as good as they can put on the floor.#32 is physical and sets an early tone in the paint along with #43.When you start this line up #21 can come in for either guy whether they are winded or in foul trouble. You don't notice it until the 4th quarter but when the Rebs do this you won't see them bending over and grabbing their shorts and trying to catch a breath.
5. I thought the Rebels personell tonight is as good as they can put on the floor. When they start #32 and #43 and let #21 sub they stay fresh and it shows late in the ball games. When they play inside out #3 can be a factor. The biggest concern they will have in the playoffs will be teams pressuring the ball and they will see that early and often.Good luck Coach Williams in the playoffs.
6. Big Sandy's only issue is youth. The introduction's said 1 freshman,3 sophomores and a senior.Congrats to the Rebels on the district title but don't get on the Wildcats to hard ,they will get harder and harder to beat over the next couple of seasons.
7. Where are these 2 lakes ? I've fished down in the Neches for years but never knew the names of the lakes down around I-10 other than Lake Bayou and 10 mile.
8. I got to see Evadale a couple of times last year and they were solid. They should win this district without much trouble.
9. Evadale should be favored at home but I don't think it will be by a lot.The Rebels are pretty much playing to their strengths now and thats about all they can do.If they control the boards and don't turn the ball over against the press they win,if they turn it over it's a toss up.
10. It's not unusual fo the basketball only schools to have an advantage early in the season. That is usually gone before christmas, after that the clubs are pretty much even as far as preparation goes.
11. Spurger wins ?????Now I'm confused !!!!
12. True, It's not that I haven't given the Rebs credit.I have said many times they have a good club.I have seen them play several times and have offered an objective opinion.I saw them play Cayuga, a good 1-a school and get beaten pretty soundly.I saw them get beaten badly against HJ and lose a game to Kountze that a good senior led club should have won. They beat a Spurger club that was without their best player and a young Goodrich club at home.So to answer your question "If they beat Leggett will I give them the credit they deserve?"The answer is yes I will give them the credit they deserve, will that make them a better playoff team? You tell me, evidently I don't know much about the game, but I will wish them well in the playoffs.
13. Warren ,Hardin ,Deweyville and Anahuac split .Hardin beat Kountze and EC.Warren played EC within 4 at EC.There were some very good teams in the district that year and they beat each other up on a regular basis.
14. I agree 100% east texas bb.Probably not a good idea to compare anyone in the college arena to a high school coach. They are completely different worlds.
15. How many times did Woden beat em when he was there ??
16. It would be completely different issues here anyway between high school and college. The college game is alot closer to a business than most people realize.Buddy Ryan was a great football coach but do I agree with his use of the profanity laced tirades, nope. That doesn't make any less of a coach but it also doesn't make him any more of one either.
17. Woodville may be missing the 600 win coach more than they thought they would. What is their record now?
18. Come on True it was a win over Sabine Pass, following a loss to Hull Daisetta.Evadale has a playoff team this year but I don't see them making huge strides in the playoffs. They won't see many teams like Sabine Pass or Hull Daisetta in the playoffs.Just curious, have you ever been to a game in Leggett? If not you're in for an experience.Don't be surprised if the coach is buying popcorn for the officials.
19. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. If you continually bring on JUCO players cohesiveness is a problem. In todays D-1 world everyone is talented, the difference usually is on the bench.I like Roc but it's time for a change.
20. Even the number with 2 teams making the playoffs so there won't be a layoff or make it mandatory for the district champs to have a warm up game against another district champ in a different classification.A lot of districts have a champion that isn't real strong so 4 clubs would make a joke out of the playoffs.
21. Anahuac had Larry Rivon and Mayes that year.Every club in the district that year was capable of beating each other
22.

I can tell some of you had never been to Leggett,it's an experience to say the least.
Redhorse has been this way for @ least for 25 years.-Whsalum
I know CATMAN that was my point, anyone that hasn"t been over there is in for a rude awakening.
23. When you graduate 6 starters from 1-a club there is definitely going to be some rebuilding. The first things the Rebs will see is defenses geared to taking away Murphy from the perimeter. If he spends a ton of time this summer working on creating his own shot he can be successful. The defense you described is one of the oldest in the game, has lots of names but most call it a box in one. When played correctly it can defend the middle very well if the offensive club doesn't have anyone else that can shoot the mid to long range jumper. The Rebels should be congratulated for their win but don't read more in to it than it was.It was a win against a club who couldn't match up with them.
24. Is Colby any kin to Robert Price ? Robert was a great player back in the 70"s for the Lions. He was an old friend of mine, I haven't heard from in years.
25. Just a couple of points, a high school pitcher who throws straight fastballs better have an excellent defense and anyone who is picking the Warren kids last doesn't know the kids. These kids are young but have played baseball year round since they were in elementary school. They will make the playoffs this year in 24aa.
