Lord those Kountze clubs with Powell and Busby still give me nightmares LOL. How old is this young man and who will he play for in Beaumont ??

They also have Zane Zbranek coming back who got a lot of playing time this year and can really shoot the ball . The young man that suffered the season ending football injury should be a huge addition in the paint . Throw in a freshman group that went 18-0 and a JV group that went 18-4 and I think by next seasons tip off they will be pretty good.

The Tigers should be commended for having a great season and representing region 3 very well in San Antonio. I didn't realize they were losing 4 seniors. They will be very good again next year but it's hard to see them losing 4 off a 10 man rotation and getting better. All that being said they should be the early favorite in the region.

Pressing , trapping defenses will win you a lot ballgames until you run up against a club with really good ball handling guards . If that is your only avenue to score , off turnovers , then you are dead in the water. In a possession type ball game there is no substitute for teams that know how to screen and move, spread the the floor and shoot !

We throw great around way to much these days. They were very deep and very good.

Syracuse is another club that has done pretty well with a matchup zone, I guess Jim doesn't know much about the game either.

Oldschool2 I know you know a lot about the game but if you choose to play man against a team that has 10 players better than your best one you are in big trouble which is easily the case against most teams in Silsbee's district. There is a HUGE difference in knowing how to play man and having the personell to do it effectively. A matchup zone can cover up some weaknesses.

That's a catch 22. The Tigers played a tough non district schedule and saw some good man defenses but that was 3 months ago. Most clubs in their district and in their region had to play zone or get run out of the gym.When you get to the state championship you play what got you there but you have to hit the shots.

It's been a lot of fun watching Coach Fosters club the past several seasons. The have always handled themselves with character and class. Congrats on a fine season to both the Wildcats and there fans, who are also some of the best in Southeast Texas.

Congrats to the Bucs but you gotta tip your cap to Coach Whitmire. After losing a ton to graduation the Cougars were a really good club this year. Great season by both clubs !!

I think It was the 71 team that had the player who went on to play football for the Detroit lions. I believe it was Hunter. They were very good.

Scored 6 or 8 in limited time. Great for the Hawks to be getting him back.

I agree with AAW, the young guy that coaches the JV does a great job. Coach Harley has done a tremendous job of keeping LCM competitive but the program won't miss a beat with Coach Jeffcoat.

That's a great shot and a really neat deal for the kid to be named MVP and have his team win a district championship. I know he was a really good player and well liked on his old team. I gotta ask however, what did he gain for himself? Has he signed a full D1 offer somewhere ? Just curious.

LOL I didn't say they won the state championship . I said they beat the press using this method. Two very good teams that season !!

I saw Tramaine Thomas, Preston Guillory and Vince McDonald beat a very good Kountze team a few years back with The type game plan Moss Hill speaks of. Of course you don't get three like that everyday
