Depth is going to be an issue for the Lions this year. They need a few days off.

The Tigers are good but rankings in week 2 and $ 4 bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Early season rankings in high school basketball usually aren't close. Silsbee deserves to be where they are or up a notch. Wagner, I don't know anything about.

The big kid got in early foul trouble and #2 and #4 both fouled out. Shots weren't falling it got outta hand early in the 3rd. Huffman has a good ball club. They shot a heck of a % from behind the arc tonight.

Kountze looks like they may not have the speed to press this year. They got in foul trouble early and missed some really LONG 3's . They are playing right now on dead legs. The first time I've ever seen them drop back in a zone in the first half and I have been watching them a long time.

This tourney lay out makes it tough to go see multiple games, long breaks between them.

Just one more thought because I have never seen the young man play . Normally a player with D1 capabilities makes everyone around him much better. In a small school environment that usually translates in to wins. I wish this young man the best and hope he does sign a D1 offer, the assistance that will give him in getting his education is priceless.

I'm going to try and check out Kountze and Huffman this afternoon, if I make it over I'll update what I can.

Yes #4 Best player on team, IMO. He was the best player Kountze had, he was solid last year. The kid that surprised me was the big kid that played down low. Never saw him before and he did everything he was asked. He doesn't look polished by any stretch but really played smart when he got in foul trouble. Rebounded, took charges and scored when he was called on to do so.He is going to help them.

Not a lot of D1 prospects in Southeast Texas. No disrespect to any of the area players but it takes a really good baller to even get a D3 look. Some folks misunderstand a mailbox full of flyers for offers. There's a YUGE difference to quote Trump lol.

Kountze has a bigger kid playing the post that did a nice job for them last night I hadn't seen before. The long ball wasn't falling for them like it normally does and that hurt them but they will be solid again as usual. I didn't see many JV players that would be able to contribute on the varsity but Duane gets all the 7 on the varsity have to give.

Anthony Manning and James Brannon were two of the best I ever saw come out of Kountze. Always liked Roman Walkers game to.

First time I had seen this young man play and I was pleasantly surprised. Worked really hard on the boards and played pretty good defense. He looked like he was going to do pretty well.

If they won state, everybody they played once the playoffs started

The Hawks look like a club that is really having fun playing together. I'm sure there will be some growing pains as always with young teams but they have a ton of potential. Looked like a well balanced group 1-10 from what I saw. Defensively they looked pretty quick , they will be fun to watch.

Some kids really develop between their freshman and sophomore years. I would bet that any group that went undefeated as freshmen will be pretty darn good playing in the later time slot.

When you get beat 58-12 it runs a little deeper than not getting the plays in.

Let's not forget a lot of Phelps gold medals were in the relays . He is a great athlete no doubt but all of his gold's were not individual accomplishments . We will probably never see the likes of his accomplishments again.

The market is a tricky animal to say the least. Artificially low interest rates and the Feds decision not to raise them I believe are pushing the market to new highs. The catch 22 is the economy is so sluggish the feds are afraid to raise rates right now for fear of throwing us into another recession. The chickens will come home to roost when the rates are raised and the market will adjust downward. The upside to that is it will be a time to buy .
