Devin made a very good ball player. I think he played at San Jac after he graduated. Not sure if Daniel played anywhere but he definitely could have.

After extensive research the last time Hardin beat Kountze was on 12/20/2007 in Hardin by a score of 60-58. Devin Bray did play in that game as did Daniel Marsh.

I don't think Devon missed but 1 season when he was in California. I do know he played for the Lions in 07-08. I don't remember him being at Hardin the night the Lions lost over there but I could be wrong. I do remember Roman Walker was there and played a heckuva game.

I know Bray wasn't on the club that lost to Hardin so I'm thinking that was in 06-07. I'm pretty sure Devon was back and playing in Kountze in 07-08. I ha kids that graduated in 08 that played against him .

May have to look at the Archives for the year may have 06/07 . I think Bray was back from California in 08.

They still had a pretty good club, I believe they had Roman Walker and Devin Bray but I can't remember for sure. If I'm not mistaken they won the district or shared the title, not bad for a down year

Yes sir it was 2008, I think Daniel Marsh was the kids name from Hardin that was a really good ballplayer that year. Beat them in Hardin.

These type games have to give coaches ulcers. When you beat a team convincingly on a neutral court by 23 and then play them again in the middle of a district schedule it's just hard to get the same motivation out of kids. Couple that with Jasper's shooting percentage on the night and you get the upset. It should be a confidence boost for Jasper but the Hawks will bounce back and be fine.

This one is a surprise. I wonder if Huffman was st full strength ?

I have seen all the above teams this year except Memorial but without seeing the clubs in the other areas of the region its tough to make an educated guess. From what I've seen Silsbee would have to have the best odds.The 2A road will be a coin flip every night once the playoffs start. Looking at the other clubs and going back over the years when they had state qualifying clubs it's going to be tough .I wish them all the best but its going to be tough.

EC and Kountze are probably 1 and 2 and a pretty good bit better than everyone else. Buna should be the favorite for 3rd when they play to potential, they had one stretch before Christmas where they lost 6 or 7 in a row. When the get it together they aren't bad.

I've seen both these clubs and I gotta give EC the nod. Kountze as always has to score off turnovers and I don't see them turning EC over much. I'll say EC 70 Kountze 60.

I gotta give EC the nod to take the district title this year. Kountze will definitely be in the mix but I don't think they have the depth to beat the Bucs. Buna seperates from the pack for 3rd and 4th is coin flip.

Hardin Jefferson vs Huffman Friday should be a really good ball game. Huffman is a tough group at home and the matchups are like looking in a mirror.

I did see some savage dunk attempts off the back iron Friday by the kids from Shepherd.
