I remember some really good teams around 2006-2008. I think the kids names were Marsh, Nolan and maybe Hunter?? Not sure , it's been awhile. There were 6 teams in the district that could play.I wouldn't be surprised to see Hardin win at home, like I said I haven't seen them this year.

Hardin isn't beating EC, OF or Buna. I think AAW is trying to make the point that the last playoff spot is going to be between Hardin, Kountze and Warren and a little tougher schedule may prepare Hardin to beat those two teams a little more. The last playoff spot in this district will come down to matchups and foul trouble. I don't know anything about Hardins lineup so I have no idea how they will match up. I have seen Kountze and Warren and neither has much depth or post presence. Warren did have a left handed kid that had a decent stroke. They lost their PG to foul trouble in the game that I saw them and didn't handle pressure without him.

The top three spots in this district are pretty clear. EC, OF , and Buna. The last playoff spot is a toss up I believe. A good argument against to many playoff spots. Kountze could very well get the last one.

Warren lost 2 games in this tournament by 2 points. The game last night against Woodville was a heart breaker.

What's happens all the time?

I've been around high school basketball for a long time and I've never seen teams not show up for a tournament. This is twice this has happened this year. The other was Cleveland in the HJ tournament. Gotta be some soul searching done in those two places!

Haven't seen OF yet this year but looks like they just need to learn to finish. Gotta either be depth or conditioning.

I think 2 of their losses were to Coldsprings and Broaddus. Both pretty decent ball clubs

And West Sabine and Spurger. Standings show them to be 5-3.

I don't know anything about Warren or Hardins guards but that will be the key to the 4th spot. Kountze is not the normal Kountze but they still pressure the basketball. For Warren or Hardin to make the playoffs they will have to handle that pressure. I haven't seen either play , Warren beat West Sabine and Hemphill and played Broaddus pretty close. They lost Big to Coldsprings in the championship of an early season tournament. I don't think Hardin has played anyone yet to let them know how good they are. It's hard to go against Kountze considering their past.

So you are saying EC is the 6th best team in that district? No sir EC is the clear favorite in this district and I think will be in the regional tournament. Orangefield has a post presence that I think could give Buna matchup problems so I like them second. Buna will get in and could easily be second but I like them in third. I've watched Kountze and they are no where near what they normally are but they will get better pressuring the basketball and I honestly don't know anything about Warren and Hardins guards. After last night it looks like Anahuac and Kirbyville round out the bottom two spots.

LCM cut into the lead late. Ballgame wasn't close for most of the night. LCM has a nice player that can fill it up

Huffman is pretty small this year

Coach Sutherland, Coach Davis and Coach Joubert all do a lot of things in their system that started with Coach Breithupt. They have all won a lot of games over the years with a great defensive scheme. All are excellent coaches , you don't have to do anything but look at their records wherever they go to prove that out.

Devin played for San Jacinto for a couple of years not sure where else . I think the best players to come out of Kountze were the Hancock brothers, Freddie Haynes , Powell and Busby. Trey Peters was another great one. Not sure how many Joub coached.

I've watched their JV for the last several years and there just wasn't much in the pipeline. They are playing pretty much the same schedule they always do so there record will be down. In the end they will compete fo a playoff spot in what could be one of Duanes best coaching jobs. If we're gonna list past players don't leave Cam Powell off, guy could flat out play.
