  1. I'm not from Silsbee why would I need an excuse ?
  2. Yates makes their FT's and can really get hot from behind the arc. Tigers played a late game last night and lost their legs today. It happens but great run by the Tigers, the pipeline isn't near as full going forward but they still got the General.
  3. They gotta Sophomore that can fill it up from behind the arc, not sure what his number is.
  4. Gotta beat the best at this stage of the season. Go Lady Hawks.
  5. Huffman won't beat themselves. The difference in this game will be the Tigers ability to play above the rim. You just can't game plan for that. I look for the Tigers to advance to regional tournament but I don't see the blow outs like they have been registering.
  6. Huffman doesn't have a big inside presence. Silsbee can play above the rim but they don't like to slow it down .
  7. Huffman will be very fundamentally sound and very well coached. They can shoot lights out. Size will be their downfall .
  8. 79-69 final. Good job Hawks
  9. Heckuva 1st half. No one in serious foul trouble. Tempo will be the key.
  10. HJ 16 Yates 15 end of 1st
  11. Guard play wasn't the biggest factor last year on Silsbee beating Yates. The Yates big man spending over half the game on the bench in foul trouble and fouling out early in the 4th was the biggest factor in last years regional final. The Hawks are gritty and have played Silsbee twice, Pt Arthur Memorial, Lufkin, WB, and several more ranked clubs. I look for them to show up and play well.
  12. I know for a stretch Big Sandy was short a couple of players. If they got those kids back you can't look at records and previous matchups. The guy on the end of the bench at Big Sandy is as good as they get in high school hoops. Coaching is extremely important but you still gotta have the pieces on the floor, no better example of that than this years Kountze and Anahuac squads. Two great coaches with a shortage of players this year.
  13. Kicking back the recliner, this might get interesting Lol
  14. The Yates matchup should be a lot of fun to watch. Yates loves to shoot the long ball which can be a blessing or a curse. HJ is certainly battle tested. Playoff basketball, gotta love it!!
  15. The last 7.7 seconds Woodville had two fouls to give to put Buna in the bonus . They would have had to foul immediately on the inbound and then hoped for a missed free throw but it would have at least been an option. In the coaches defense he was calling for his team to do this but some of them were frustrated it appeared and didn't respond. My only question would have been use of timeouts. Overall it was a good ballgame to watch.
  16. He's a solid player but let's not get carried away. Bush is definitely in the top 3 conversation along with Adams and McCain.
  17. I've seen a lot of basketball games where the 5 best athletes didn't win the game. In the Lumberton vs WOS matchup Lumberton had to control the tempo to win which they did. If the game had been a fast paced one I would have liked WOS chances. From what I saw this year if you put both these clubs through an athletic combine the Mustangs I think would score the highest. That's JMO, that and a dollar would buy you a cup of coffee.
  18. What time do they tip?
  19. This will be a great game. Shelbyville has a really good club. The key to this game is depth. Advantage EC and I think they win by 10. I wish it was closer
  20. HJ subbed 5 in 5 out at the 4 minute mark each quarter. It looked like it could have been whatever they wanted it to be.
