If it’s open “ The Farmhouse “ at the foot of the causeway on Hwy 190 in Onalaska has good food. It’s the same family I believe that operates the Farmhouse in Huntsville. It’s about 15 miles from Trinity but you may want to put it on your list. -
That’s my point. When I look at Warrens schedule this year they have been wildly inconsistent. That’s not a knock on Anahuac, they seem to be consistent. I think Anahuac beat Warren by 7 earlier in the year at Anahuac. I would expect Warren to win that rematch at home. That being said a team won’t win many scoring 38 points at home. If Anahuac keeps playing the way they’re are playing they could very well get the last playoff spot in this district.

Kountze Lion Basketball is Back!!

I gotta agree with aTmfan06. I-saw a lot of those Kountze clubs during those days and to say they couldn’t put a team together over the last 30 years that could have beaten the Tigers the last 4 years is a stretch. That would be fun drawing up hypothetical matchups and even getting to pick who was drawing up X’s and O’s. In addition to Hall and Hancock the club that had Busby, Powell and Haynes was pretty darn good. -

I’m not looking at a stat sheet but I know the Bears were shooting in the double bonus around the 4:00 minute mark in the first half. The foul count was 14-4 I believe at the half. That will keep games close. -
Further evidence of the Jekyll and Hyde identity of Warren this year. They play Kountze to 4 points and then lose by 1 to Anahuac 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

They ain’t that far back 😂 -
I heard Buna had lost their post player a week or so ago that had really hurt them.

This seems to be who the Tigers are this season. If ya got 2 players hit 30 each that’s pretty good stuff. They scored 75, that will win you a lot of ballgames.

I hear they have a very good young group in junior high as well. I think it’s the 7th grade group. -
Dallardsville Big Sandy 99 Brookeland 42/FINAL

Actually saw a good coach in Brookeland a few years ago told he was not going to be brought back BEFORE a 2nd round playoff game. This was around 2012 or 2013. I think the Superintendent is the AD, that’s what’s happened to Brookeland. -

I was looking at Tarkington’s record yesterday because I was surprised at them being undefeated in district. I think it’s more of the rest of the district being down than the Longhorns being much improved. Huffman will be dangerous in the playoffs because they won’t beat themselves. They will shoot it very well and not turn it over , if they get you in a possession game they are scary.

Just one final thought from Friday nights game that tells me all I needed to know about what type of job Coach Mitchell is doing with the Lumberton program. I attend ALOT of high school basketball games and have over the past 50 years but I was struck by the number of people in the crowd that had no ties to Lumberton or Silsbee basketball. Folks that came because they were curious as to how far the Lumberton program has come. Sometimes relevance is the biggest compliment a Coach can receive and from the looks of the crowd Friday night it looks like Coach Mitchell has made the Raiders relevant again. I can’t wait to see what the second half of the district season holds for all the members of this district.

I’m sure we’d have to factor in a let down by the Hawks after a very tough loss on the road at Silsbee the game before.

Normally there is more than one date set aside for college visits. I know nothing about this young man or which college he chose to visit and I have no right to pass judgment on the individual so everything I say is just a matter of personal opinion. If no school is missed what’s the difference in leaving at 8pm instead of 4pm? I know these dates are posted ahead of time and I certainly don’t blame a young athlete for taking the trip but it sure makes it tough on a small school team playing without them.
-
I understand how they work, I just question the timing.
-
I think they still have to travel to EC in the second round though and that's a tough place to win.
-
Hudson has some impressive wins this year.

What type college visit would someone go on during the season?? Not real good timing.
