1. HJ seems REALLY good this year, I wonder who they'll have to beat up on in the 3rd round since Cleveland most likely won't be there. ;D
 2. LOL Should be fun, go panthers.
 3.
Better be lucky Brownwood isn't in the mix.
Because they lost to Monahans.
 4. After coming in contact with both teams, WOS talks WAY more than Coldspring. Maybe because I saw WOS @ 7 on 7 and it was a close game, and I saw CS in a real game that they already knew they would win.
 5.
This is a stupid post! Both kids had great senior years. Leave it at that!
I believe he is acknowledging that Cody Green was a great Quarterback, and using that to compare Andres to him to show people how great of a Quarterback Herrera is, and to further magnify the success of Andres.
 6.
After getting beat 49-10 I removed the "T" from Dayton thus you have DAYON 8).You can now use that "T" to explain how you played like Terrible or laid a Turd!
You mean the same way BH played against Ozen? In the FIRST ROUND, against a 4 seed, AT HOME!!!??? HAHAHA, thats a "nuff said" right there. No further comments needed. BH < Dayton. Always has been and always will.
I like your prediction. I only see one problem with it. Everything I have read says they don't even kick extra points. I have no idea if they do or they don't but if what Im reading is true how do they get 7?
If you want to see how much common opponents mean nothing, go look at Liberty and Cleveland. On paper Liberty should have won 40-0. They beat Shepherd, and Splendora a lot worse than cleveland did. The scored 13 on Coldspring. They scored 20 to Cleveland's 3 on Huffman but in the head to head match up Cleveland found a way to win. Common opponents mean NOTHING, especially when you guys have the same records against them I could see if WOS was losing to those teams, but no they were winning maybe not by as much as CS but they got the job done.
 8. Liberty and Hardin had a big fight in 7 on 7 @ Hardin, it was just a practice game and it was more than just a small pushing and shoving fight, but from what I heard nothing was done about it. When the punishment is left in the coaches hands I doubt Ozen will run their seniors that are done with football now, and I doubt LaMarque takes the time to run their team in the middle of the playoffs. And you can bet LaMarque won't do any sort of suspension, but neither would any other team in the 4th round.
 9.

I agree with you. I believe all the stat and player talk is due to none of us having a clue to who has the edge. Seems to me this is probably one of the most even matchups in Texas. All the talk is for us fans to hqve something to do untill Friday. If you noticed, all the threads before this one when no one knew if this game would even happen, was a lot of smack and trash. This one is way different. Different in the fact that now the game is here, both teams fans, respect each others team. This is a toss up. I do believe this could be the state championship. I know were all excited for this game and win or lose, you know the kids will give it their all. This is why I love HS football.
Good post!  +2
The winner of Gilmer vs Argyle should win the state championship.
 10.
Once again, it's our friends from Coldspring. So good to have the tremendous year in and year out talent at the Corral, but the X-factor is Coach Thompson.  When you have two talented teams like this at this round in the playoffs, it is always a war.  To have a general in place like Coach T is a blessing that not every school has.  I feel good about this game.
If the x-factor is coaching, no one has anything on Barbay. That man can coach some football. WOS IMO is just better this year. Both defenses are great, and both offenses have struggled, both are capable of the big play but right now in the playoffs WOS has seemed to figure it out on offense.
 11. The way things have been going I would Say WOS 12 CS 7. But the fact that WOS in playoff form let Cleveland score 14 and it was close early on, and then CS in district easily dominated them with no competition from the Indians, kind of makes me think otherwise. I think each team will only score once or twice, unless Sherm can get break a few open (which he is perfectly capable to), but so is Lindsey and Renfro. Whichever team turns the ball over the least should win.
 12. I want to see WOS play Coldspring.
 13. Innocent until proven guilty. End of story. The school board doesn't decide if these boys assualted anyone, the criminal justice system does, and until they are proven guilty by a jury of their peers they should continue to play football.
 14.

No excuses.....out-coached! Bottom line....Good Luck Ozen!  You can beat La Marque...NO DOUBT!
You must be sniffing those highlighters again. LOL  ::) Just because your Cubs got beat fair and square doesnt mean Ozen will breeze past The La marque Cougars. Brenham is a very good team but also very overrated. La marque would have pulled off the win against them regardless. You can deny it all you want, but i guess we'll never know.  :P La marque vs Ozen will be an interesting game though, thats for sure. They have a great QB... But I doubt they will knock of this stellar team, JMO. If anyone can knock off La marque it will be Manvel.. Goodluck though, we all know anything can happen in the playoffs.
You might say without seeing Brenham and knowing that they lost to Ozen that they are overrated. This team has a lot of fire power very good players and I can see why they were hyped up like they were but poor coaching killed them. They lost by 4 and didn't capitalize on 4 red zone posessions that resulted in 0 points. They think they are too good to kick the field goal against a 4 seed. Ozen is very good. La Marque is very fast I think this will be a great game. Go Panthers
 15.
Prudomme wouldn't have helped that much.  He is a tremendous athlete, but I'm sure the quarterback with a FREAK'N NECKROLL couldn't throw the football more than 20 yds!
True. LOL. I was just trying to prove the point that they do have athletes @ H.J highschool, maybe just not on the football field, and the ones on the field don't have their heart's in it.
 16. I'm pulling for Dayton, but Manvel is fast! They have some athletes. They should be able to run fairly well on Dayton's defense. If Herrera can get his offense rolling, and not worry about what's happening to the Dayton defense they may be able to win a shootout considering Carranco is the best player ever.  ;D
 17.
Mmmm...looked like a good game.  Too bad that we won't see a rematch.
Because Ozen is going to beat La Marque? Or because Dayton is going to beat Manvel? Or both  ;)
 18. I'll be there!
 19.
It's one thing to air out your dirty laundry on SETX but for the BE to publish this article is rediculous!  Now every disgruntled parent will want their crap published in the public paper.  Some schools just have "slumps" in the talent pool from year to year while others seem to never run out.  There are several fans that feel this way about their current coaching staffs, but the truth is, some programs just don't have the "athletes" to compete!  Trust me, it is not the coaches fault. ps  The BE may need to get another editor in chief to monitor the garbage that is being printed.  I guess that is why it is refered to as the Beaumont Surprize  ;D
You have to be athletic to play basketball? So they do have athletes. Sean Prudhomme at Wide Receiver would be sick lol.

Gonna be a test to see which offense can score more points. Vidor is known for there defense and a smash mouth offense but hasn't produced numbers that the angleton team has. Angleton is known for there offense and a 3 star recruit running back that is the definition of LEGIT! but they have the worst, or close to it, defense in there division (gave up 36 points last game but scored 64). This, IMO, will be the game of the week. And i hope the upset of the year! GO PIRATES!!!!
I saw Vidor in non-district, and then again against Crosby. I was impressed. I'm rooting for Vidor all the way (unless they have to play Ozen, that's the only team i'll take over Vidor in 4A, maybe Dayton IDK.)
ozen and dayton are D2 so we wont face them in the playoffs.
That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure that's why I said unless they have to, but thanks for verifying that.

 22. Liberty fans will be their again.
 23. Games I saw 1st round: Vidor vs Crosby, Ozen vs Barbers Hill, Dayton vs PNG Games I saw 2nd round: Coldspring vs Bellville, Ozen vs Brenham, Dayton vs Magnolia west I was fortunate enough to see some really great games, only attended 2 games that got out of hand (Vidor vs Crosby) (Dayton vs Magnolia West) I'm hoping to keep this streak up and continue to see some really good games. Friday: Dayton vs Manvel Saturday: Ozen vs La Marque, then Katy vs La Porte. Any suggestions for this next week rather than the ones I chose?

Lol, do you not see how many division 1 recruits are on that team?

He rushed for 2000 yards as a junior in only 9 games. 2400, 49 touchdowns, and a 6A state title in Kansas his senior year. You guys are comparing the way Sproles plays against NFL defenses to the way Lindsey plays against 3A HS defenses. As far as where Darren Sproles was at this point in Lindsey's life the two are incomparable. Good luck to WOS, and Britton Lindsey, I would love to see the kid play at a division 1 school in college.
...and Britton has been an every down back in highschool as well... We are speculating about college, no one said that Sproles wasn't an every down back in highschool. He wasn't in college and he isn't in the NFL, either. Lindsay probably will not be either. The only reason the comparison was made is because they are both short in stature, but explosive. I think it's a fair comparison.
It is a very fair comparison. I was just saying when Sproles was in high school he was the type of guy you had 11 guys keying on him on ever play. 2000+ junior and senior year. Lindsey isn't on that level but he is a good player and I can see why you guys are comparing them.
