1. Chad Brannon big guy didn't play in liberty he got in a few games not many he's well over 6ft 200 lbs should be a monster in 1a compared to HD and their opponents, good kid.
 2.
Looks like I stand corrected. My apologies are in order. I take back my previous comments. Since it was brought up though, I would like to add my disappointment to the enviroment created by the fan base in Cleveland or the lack thereof. For a program with such a winning tradition, i would expect a lot more. I love the student participation you see at Coldspring, Shepherd, and Huffman. They haven't reached the status of Hardin Jefferson's student body but they are working in it.
Correct. I have fam in Sour Lake and 22-3A basketball fan bases can't compete with theirs. And I was at the Liberty @ Shepherd game and Shepherd had maybe 20 students and 15 adults it was a very weak home crowd, so I'm not exactly sure why you love the student participation, however CS and Huffman do have great participation along with Liberty and Cleveland but not so much Shepherd.
 3. TE/FB Jake Vaught and D1 commit Ryan Melton from Liberty will be playing.
 4.
HAHAHA That was worth checking the board for. Game definitely played in Shepherd. It can be a tough place to play, but so can every away game in that district. The liberty "pit", the Falcons nest with the unruly student section, and lets not forget the "barn" in coldspring. The only major disappointment is the newer cleveland gym. Its just not the same as the "gah-den" was.
Liberty had their gym pretty loud the first part of the season, but after the loss to Huffman the turnout has been low, but Liberty hasn't been at home in 3 weeks so we will see next Tuesday what happens. They really need a win against Splendora friday to strengthen their chances at a playoff spot. Although Huffman seems not very good losing to teams that Liberty beats, it's definitely becoming a rivalry and they bring every thing they got when playing Liberty. The first game was close, I'm predicting Liberty will take it in Huffman next time to clarify who's the better team.
 5.
Cleveland will have to find away to limit their turnovers and CS fast break points and layups if they plan on being competitive in the next matchup in Cleveland.... They didn't/don't seem capable of keeping CS guards (especially Sykes) from driving the lane time after time and getting easy looks at the basket.... Would like to go watch the rematch in Cleveland, however, after seeing a CS player get jumped by Cleveland fans in the parking lot I'm not sure I feel like having to deal with the same type of crap in Cleveland...I have no idea why anyone feels the need to fight before, during, or after a highschool athletic event... There ought to be some type of extra punishment for anyone prosecuted and convicted of assault and battery at any type of school event that is held on a campus (kind of like the extra trouble one gets in if arrested with drugs inside a school zone)....
Every year Cleveland fans get crazy when H.J knocks them out of the playoffs. Liberty never competes with them, but this will be the year they may have a shot and it could get ugly. Same goes for Huffman, they have the same time of fan base that really gets into it, CS, Huffman, Liberty, and Cleveland are the only schools in our district where the crowd becomes a factory, but apparently Cleveland likes to take it to the next level. This wouldn't be the first time, a few years back there was a fight in Baytown when H.J knocked them out a Cleveland guard hopped into the stands in the 4th quarter, and after the game it escalated in the parking lot.
 6. Haha! Nice try but a last minute schedule Chang put the game in Shepherd, I was there trust me im pretty sure I wasn't in my hometown liberty plays away in splendora Friday but also played away Tuesday in shepherd
 7. Liberty wins 72-52. At least that's what the scoreboard showed, early on it was 15-11 shepherd was up and liberty made a shot and they gave two points to shepherd, libertys assistant coach informed the table and the fans was stopped but the official book was wrong along with the scoreboard so shepherd got the 2 and liberty did not so the score should have been 74-50

I hear he is held in high esteem by many members of the community. He will definitely be a candidate.
Why would Coach Slack leave his alma mater H-D to go to Hardin? Money? More kids? H-D had no JV last season.
All of the above.  Facilities, talent pool, etc. etc...... Hardin has become a better job than HD.  Nostalgia is a great thing, but when you compare the two....in 2011 and beyond....Hardin is the clear cut better job.  Besides, Slack is starting to get the reputation as a guy who still has his job due to the fact that he is a HD graduate and his parents own the restaurant across the street.  He has had no success.  As a matter of fact, he has underachieved.  Some of the teams he has had should've done lots more than they did.  His first few years, they had enough talent to go several rounds deep in 1A, and they couldn't even get out of the first round.  Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why Hardin would want him, but that is the rumor.  Take it for what it's worth.
Very good points made in your post. I do agree Hardin has way better facilities hands down. Hardin's turf field is awesome. I agree Coach Slack may want to reach out and prove people wrong regarding favor to him in H-D. For the record I feel Coach Slack has done a decent job, not a great job. I do not agree that Hardin has a better talent pool than H-D. H-D has the ability to bring in athletes not just from H-D, but from Raywood, Devers and Ames. Many great athletes have come from those surrounding towns. Problem is now our Coaches don't go after players like they use to. I remember my H-D Coaches going to the homes of kids back in the day, talking with the parents and incouraging kids to play. Not these days. H-D failed to field a JV football team for the first time last season. H-D may need some new faces and new energy. The genes and tradition are still in our community. I pray our Coaches, parents and kids can come together and get these kids off the playstations and on the fields. Go Bobcats!
Ames is locked by Liberty. Aside from Braxton who would have saw limited time on Liberty's junior varsity this season, any of the kids from Ames that can play go to Liberty.

But that wasnt my point I was just wondering why yall had a tough time stopping bh. Daytons defense was very young and not up to par this year but you were talking up the ozen defense so I figured I would ask.

Yeah but BH beat Dayton lol. And that Ozen defense had a game ending interception
LOL, have you seen what is left in Hardin? Nothing, I dont blame Haynes for leaving and whoever they hire, well I feel sorry for them, Hardin isn't that much better than HD they won 18-6 in their scrimmage this year and i'm from neither town, their about the same as far as talent goes.
 11.
As I said earlier in the thread.  The voters volunteer their time to look at schedules and other threads to make their rankings.  A 3A team beating two 2A teams is not reason for a team to be voted in the rankings.
But a 3A team losing to the same 2A team should be reason for Splendora not to be ranked, like i said liberty hasnt done anything special and dont deserve a ranking but neither does splendora
 12. And i'm not saying Liberty has done anything special to be ranked, I'm just saying based on the fact that Goodrich and Big Sandy are both ranked 5th and 6th in your 2A/1a/privates poll and Liberty beat both teams, and Splendora was defeated by 1 of those teams, it just makes since to either un rank Splendora or rank Liberty.
 13.
Rankings are done by 9 guys who volunteer their time to do the rankings.  We are not perfect, we do the best we can with the knowledge that we get, and from the scores that we are given.
Fair enough.
 14. And they barely squeezed by an 0-7 (or something like that) 2A Warren team who also lost to Big Sandy, a team that Liberty handled well.
 15. Confused as to why Splendora is ranked so high? Their strength of schedule is not very strong at all and they lost to Big Sandy 39-47 and Liberty beat Big Sandy 60-51 and IMO it was one of those games that could have gotten a lot worse, especially if Liberty played better, and had the 4 players that they were missing.
 16. Who do yall have for the top 3? Liberty grabbed 2 fairly easy victories over Coldpsring and Cleveland, and they return last years 22-3A distict MVP in Laura Kerr, so I'm taking them at number one once again. Liberty Huffman IDK and IDC
 17. Liberty won by over 10. Once again I forgot the score, I'll be sure and get the scores next time, but it was defintely an easy victory for the Panthers.
 18.
The coach @ Liberty has got to coach the boys and girls. When the boys play u can hear him outside the gym.He a very nice coach and a great man.
Great guy, nice man, and when it comes to coaching he doesn't mess around. His first year in liberty he Took the girls from 2 seasons ago who were 1-30 something to a district title and 2 rounds deep last year. Let's hope he can work some magic with the boys they have some size and looked pretty good so far.
 19. Does anyone know where I can find previous playoff brackets. UIL only list the 2010-2011 and I wanted to know where to find the 2008-2009, 2009-2010 brackets particularly for 3A.
