  2. I left “The Battle of San Jacinto” last Friday around halftime. I was not feeling 100 % plus I felt in my football 🏈 spirit that my Trojans would lose bc no 2nd half adjustments where ever made. Another posT!!
I was asleep & awakened by text from friends & family. The text stated “Coldspring & Shepherd players got into a fight. Smh i have never know these 2 schools to get into a fight. Over a trophy or a hat.
smh idk but hope it stops soon. Or else I will watch from 59N podcast

Happened while shaking hands. Don't know how or why, but even WW parents on field instigating. Was chaos and embarrassing,  hate to say but completely out of control as far as discipline.  Should have just celebrated on sideline.

It is sad but even more sadder for 2 reasons. First parents getting involved is totally uncalled for & not classy at all. As adults we should be the voice of reason. Also an example of being a picture of the matra “Let cool heads prevail.” Second, these brawls, melees, fights are becoming way to common especially in schools size like Coldspring -Oakhurst, Woodville. This hits home bc now even Rural America is being invaded with violence.

What you two rocket surgeons don't realize is that coaches read these message boards and avoid places like Coldspring now because of the headaches people cause from there.

Also...how many kids have gone on to play collegiate sports over the past 10 years from Coldspring vs Shepherd?  No, you don't get to count the Dean kid since he left y'all.

Sir please stop it i am a college graduate we all know that. Please refrain from name calling it is so tactless & unnecessary. A registered nurse of 25 years. Who is about to have her masters. WE KNOW THE AREA WE LIVED THERE MOVED AWAY AND CAME BACK. SHEPHERD COACHES ALL GRADUATED FROM THERE. Shepherd was better coached & prepared.  I know football 🏈 my daddy taught me. End of debate it is game. I have lost 6 family members in 6 weeks. In the scheme of life it is not that big of deal to me. I am not getting mentally constipated with your rhetoric. I am finished commenting on the game. GREAT WIN SHEPHERD

    Refs and injuries.

Maybe Shepherd has better athletes than Coldspring does?  Coldspring, athletically, is nowhere near what the faithful think they are. Also, maybe, Coldspring is just ready to hit the gym.

We have athletes they are not being utilize properly. My best friends son is an state qualifier in track. Was placed on jv as junior & led the team in his junior year in receptions, reception yards, and yards after the catch. He also lead in rushing. Another young man lead the team in tackles & is sitting on the bench.

lastly all of shepherds coaches are Coldspring alumni. They applied for position even the head coach Miles Robinson. They were told who they could hire.

CS no where close to moving up.

your so right @89Falcon we will remain a big 3A. The only way we move up is if the traditional families there have a massive growth in family structure.

Shepherd is moving up bc of the influx of people on Highway 59. Their quality & rate of athletes remains 3a. Shepherd just happens to be in a good/bad location. The influx means more hopefully economic benefits but it will loses it hometime feeling

Man I remember Willis playing PNG at the Butch in 2010… that school and area has grown so much over the years…

Yes it has grown. The corridor of fm 1097 east is putting up 2 new subdivision. I am sure there will be another high school in the next few years. It is good & bad losing it is small hometown feeling but is bringing good economic resources to the area!! Good luck Wildcats
