  1. Yeah, but with La Marque being down in Galveston Co., they wanted to make sure flooding had subsided. And both schools have an OPEN week next week, so they figured that they could be extra cautious.
  2. According to a tweet I just read from Jorge Ramos at the Enterprise, the # of confirmed cases at Nederland High (both staff and student) is 19. He was unable to find out how many were in the athletic program.
  3. Their quarterback is pretty accurate but you can get pressure on him. For all of the accolades, I wasn't terribly impressed with their running back, danced a little more than I liked. On defense, they can definitely be had in the running game.
  4. Not surprised. If it was like it was when I went several years ago, they only have bleachers on one side of their stadium and there weren't too many on that side.
  5. Galveston Ball at Angleton has been pushed back to Saturday at 1 in Angleton
  6. So far, Beta is just affecting the Houston area as far as postponements but a couple of the SETXsports "umbrella" have been pushed back to Saturday: Friendswood at Humble Summer Creek pushed from Thursday to Saturday at 1 at Turner Dayton at Montgomery Lake Creek pushed from Thursday to Saturday at 2 in Montgomery
  7. No funds were exchanged. I just merely got them mixed up.
  8. They had their season opener (Crosby) taken away due to 6A/5A being delayed but picked up a season opener. Their original 2nd game was against a TAPPS school which was lost for the same reason and did not pick another game. They had picked up LC-M but the Bears canceled due to damages from Laura. Last week was their original open week. That leads to only one game being played so far.
  9. It has been. An article just came out updating the rankings. It is revised up at the top of the thread.
  10. 6A #1 - North Shore #10 - Atascocita 5A, DII #9 - Barbers Hill #10 - Crosby 4A, DII #1 - Carthage #3 - West Orange-Stark #5 - Jasper #10 - Center 2A, DI #5 - Joaquin #9 - Timpson 1A, DII #3 - Calvert
  11. The game will be broadcast on Texan Live and they will have audio there this week.

  13. And it is obvious that you sure do hate him. Yeah, I do like Chris Babin. More than that I respect the man and what he has done for just about every program he has coached for.
  14. I'm just tryin' to make sure I can get there this week!
  15. Then I caught myself and read it again. It wasn't a compliment of Coach Faircloth but rather a backhanded slap at Coach Morgan. I knew something was up.
  16. I haven't heard yet, but I would say it is more than probable

  18. <Shaking head and rubbing eyes> Did my eyes deceive me? Did you just pay Coach Faircloth a compliment? I guess anything is possible in 2020.
  19. With folks like you, can you blame him for looking elsewhere? I mean this is a guy who is a Lumberton grad, came back to be an OC (twice) and to be a head coach and this is how he gets treated? And this was before he even set foot on campus.
  20. It is correct: LUMBERTON RAIDERS (7-4, 3-2) Aug. 30 - at Jasper, ccl Sept. 6 - at Kirbyville, 52-7 Sept. 13 - Houston Furr, 34-13 Sept. 20 - Tomball Concordia Lutheran, ccl Sept. 21 - Evadale, 54-6 Sept. 27 - Silsbee, 12-24 Oct. 4 - OPEN Oct. 11 - at Huffman Hargrave, 18-35* Oct. 18 - at Livingston, 21-9* Oct. 25 - Bridge City, 29-0* Nov. 1 - at Splendora, 7-14* Nov. 8 - Little Cypress-Mauriceville, 24-20 (OT)* Nov. 14 - Houston Wheatley, 34-17** Nov. 22 - Carthage, 17-55**
  21. It was 2007 and 2008. Do you happen to know who the OC on those 2 teams was?
  22. I can't say that it is never the coaches. But it isn't in Lumberton. This is a coach that has put Lumberton in the area round the last 2 years in a row. That has never been done before, EVER. I simply can not fathom what Chris Babin is going to have to do to win over the support of some folks in Lumberton.
  23. Imagine having a night where you throw for 388 yd and 4 TDs, rush for 109 yd and 2 more TDs and it still be the worse night of your young life. That happened to Jakory Strandley of Shelbyville last night. You see, Jakory's father was in poor health, so poor that Jakory missed practice on Thursday to be with his family. Although Coach David Benbow told him he didn't have to play, Jakory told Coach Benbow that the last thing that his dad told him was to go play, which he did, leading Shelbyville to a 54-27 win over Groveton. He learned after the game that his dad had passed away during it. Please join us at SETXsports.com in sending prayers of comfort to Jakory and his family, as well as all of the Dragons staff and players.
