  1. To all 4 22-5A play-off teams -

They say your the underdog !  They say you don't stand much of a chance of winning. They say they are a better district than you! They say they will sweep 22-5A again this year. They say 22-5A is a weak district. Well let them SAY all they want and think what they will. It's time to strap up and see, go into your game KNOWING within yourself that you will not be pushed around, dominated, or bullied. If they happen to win make dang sure they KNOW they had to earned the win and you did not GIVE them anything. If you happen to win make dang sure they KNOW YOU earned the win and they did not give you anything. In the end know you left it all on the field with no regrets. Play hard, play strong and take what is yours if you want it!

Here's to hoping all players are safe and no one gets hurt, on all 8 teams.

It all starts tonight with Central vs C.E.K. Go JAGS !!!!!!!

Go 22-5A all the 22-5A fans are behind you !

  2. Will you show New Caney respect should they win? Have to say we respect Nederland. You don't make the playoffs for years and win district championships without having a good program. Having said that, no one has been able to hold the New Caney offense down this year. We will score at least 6 touchdowns. Will Nederland be able to match NC in a high scoring game? You will have to have a balanced offense to do that.

Don't think they will score 6. No disrespect to NC, just don't see it happening. But if they happen to win, yes you will see Nederland fans show what respect New Caney has EARNED nothing more nothing less. And I would support the rest of their play off run.Same as most Ned fans did last year for Crosby.

  3. I think the jist of the whole thing is that Ned fans always claim improvement after their bi-district losses, which is logical. The problem with that improvement is that even on a bad night you don't lose to a bad team late in the season. Crosby probably hasn't improved anymore than anybody else, but we were better to start with.

Crosby's opening game in Nederland they gave up 278 yards and 18 points, after ten game they give up 284 yards and 18 points. On offense in the opening game Crosby gained 491 yards and scored 35 points, after ten games they average 468ypg and 40ppg. Crosby has just been solid from wire to wire.

New Caney has also improved since their loss to King early in district play. They finished the season as the best offense in 21-5A and the second best defense. Not to mention they have the extra week to prepare.

If you think about what you wrote, your saying Crosby is what they were. Top form from the beginning. Which is awesome. My honest question is , will that be enough to get you past 3 rounds. You averaged what you got against a team you don't expect to see in the second round, Will Crosby have what it takes to go further than last year. Would love to see it as much as I would love to see my Dogs go. Don't know if its gonna happen!

  4. Crosby won their first two games of the season by a combined 51 points over two 5A playoff teams, I would say that was playoff level. It probably took a few weeks to get the offense back clicking after Grace went down but the defense has been legit from start to finish. New Caney played Crosby close because New Caney is also legit, which you will soon find out.

I guess you're technically right though, Crosby had 0 losses to start the season and still has 0 now. You can't improve on that.

Well there you go, a simple answer !

  5. My opinion of the subject between 21 and 22 5a is that the season record shows that multiple teams in 21-5a can beat the probable district champion in 22-5a which shows the depth of our district. PNG is probably not going to beat Dayton mainly because Dayton is extremely battle tested at this point with games versus Crosby, New Caney, and C.E. King and they played all those teams tough. Lumberton has 0 chance of beating Crosby. and C.E. King is going to beat that random school from Beaumont.

    So 3-0

    and a Toss-up game with Nederland/NC

Just a note for Nederland fans that say you are "much better since week one" of course you are so is Crosby, so is New Caney, So is Dayton that is how High School works the kids get sharper on offense and tougher on Defense. So don't go believing you are the only ones getting better, Crosby with Tre in the backfield is scary. we now have a true 3 headed monster which makes us very dangerous and our defense is making big plays in big games at big times, so good luck this weekend and next but don't spout this "we are better now" line because its so brutally obvious that it need not be said.

How can Crosby be any better at this point in the season , when it was GREATLY proclaimed at the start of the season that they were already performing at play-off level?   I mean I'm just asking !  Crosby fans are the ones who proclaimed it, so tell me again how that works.

  6. you got nothing to explain to Big Ned Nation...it is them who are walking around 10 foot tall and bulletproof. Last week BIG NED walked with this same swagger into the game with GCM and got BEAT...B-E-A-T... Lumberton has done nothing but show up to fight a battle each week...when they won the did it with class and when they lost, I did not see a bunch of excuses. Nederland is a very good program and it deserves respect but it would get even more respect if it's fan were a bit more humble. So once again, Nederland Bulldogs, show up with that same strut from last week and you might be looking at second place. Lumberton folks this team has fought to get to this point and done it thru hard work and commitment...explain nothing to these folks. Yarbrough, Rhodes, Boykin, Thomas, Boutwell....y'all have fun Friday night, leave it all on the field and win or loose you will hold your head up! God Bless guys

No one knows better than the boys that they got beat last week. They will come into this game focused,  They have worked their backside off this week. Just a side note:  you directing comments like that towards the boys, umm  no,  One of those boys is mine ( I'm sure you can figure out which one )  and I can guarantee you he walks with NO such swagger.  So cool your jets . What I think, what you think, its all meaningless, what those young men on both teams think about each other is what counts, and I would say that both teams respect the ability of the other team and what that team is capable of doing .

  7.  Lets just make this clear so we can move past all the dumb comments and actually talk about the game.... Lumberton is not seeking anyone's respect. We are trying support our guys and hope to build upon this success.. If you don't wanna support what we have going then that's fine, it's your decision. But it will not stop what we have going. At the same time, we are not disrespecting any program that has earned their spot.. Saying that we can beat a team is just being hopeful that we can and will... No, we do not have the legacy that PNG and Nederland has. I applaud y'all for what you have done in the past, and this year. I will be rooting for those teams along with Central in the playoffs.. We are not comparing our program to yalls based off of one year, if anything we in Lumberton would like to get to yalls level one day. But that has to start now.... So no disrespect towards any program. It's our goal to be able to compete year after year with the great programs we have in this district..... I feel we have a chance to win tomorrow, but not because Nederland is a bad team cause obviously that's not the case, but because it's high school football. I'm supporting my team and know that anything can happen on any Friday night... And although I think Vidor doesn't have a chance against PNG, I'm rooting for them to win only because it would make things more interesting for the championship race if we win too. But my gut is picking PNG and hoping that will catapult them into a deep playoff run!!! Good luck to all

    :)

Very well said !  Congrats to Lumberton on this years success, and here's to hoping it's the start of a new direction for the kids in Lumberton.

  8. misguided comments, nothing to em

    Not so much

Let me clarify before "someone" makes a bigger deal out of this than what it is !

Last years team WAS built around the Talents of Sage, one heck of an athlete. This years team has an o line thast compliments the QB and Krautz. And a defense that has improved by leaps and bounds. Don't know why misguided people always think someone else's comments are always a slam on someone.

    Good grief !

  9. New Caney is probably three times as good offensively as the KP team Ned lost to last year. They can run the ball, their running back has almost 1100 rushing yards and their qb has rushed for over 650 yards. He has also thrown for over 2000 yards. Their #1 receiver has over 1100 yards already and the #2 has about 650 also.

Dayton is probably going to finish 4th in the district and put 55 on Ned. PNG doesn't have the players New Caney has on offense. They don't need schemes to get open, and if you think Morse is good wait until you see Ware.  New Caney will give Ned all type of personnel problems.

No disrespect to anyone but this Bulldog team is not the Nederland Sage dogs of last year. This is a TEAM and everything done good or bad is done as a TEAM. Last year is just that last year.  Also not the same team Crosby played weeks ago.
