Two very consistent programs and the games have been a joy to watch over the years.  The overall records might not match up quite the same but from a rivalry and fan's standpoint I believe it's certainly comparable to Silsbee vs Lincoln.
We tend to eat our own in this area, particularly on this message board, but there is really entertaining basketball in and around the Golden Triangle.

Nice pot stirring, No look.  You may also now be accused of believing that you think the HJ program is the almighty.( But at least you didn't commit the mortal sin of mentioning past state titles.  Its hard to accept that we are going to lose 8 straight games to the Tigers but as AAW said, it is what it is. 

Little need for anyone from HJ to comment. There are enough Silsbee people keeping the threads going. HJ has nothing to lose, they aren't the top ranked team in the state and are not expected win. Just hope it is a good game and there are no injuries.

This is Sickening, I don't have a problem with Protests, but they need to be peaceful. Profiling is Real America, as a Black Man I've faced this too many times to count. It doesn't give me the right to assume every Officer will treat me the same as the Last. I've had a talk with my 4 boys, 2 of them who will be18 in a few months. If an authority figure gives you a Command, say yes Sir/Ma'am & follow directions. The scales of Justice can be unfair and many times unbalanced, but so is Life. Give yourself every opportunity to have another chance, a rebuttal. Nobody speaks from the Grave. My sympathies to the young man's Family and to the Officer. This Ignorance must Cease. Our Leaders in the Black Community must not be so quick to React to an already Intense situation. I'm not implying that's what has happened, but we must learn from the past or we are subjected to repeating History. I Love All Races, but I still have issues with many Injustices towards Black people, but yet again that doesn't give me the Right to Disrespect the Authority in Control. These are rules that were handed down to me & I pass on to my Children. I was Taught to treat people the way I wanted to be treated, Race & Gender doesn't matter. We must face the fact that there is good & bad everywhere and let's not kid ourselves to think that we haven't had a Racist moment/episode in our lives. That doesn't make you a Racist, just means you didn't use your better judgement. We all make mistakes. but repeated errors in judgement aren't mistakes. The label Racist is harsh, it's thrown around hastily, some deserving & some aren't.  I'm not here to place Blame or be Judgemental, although I've jumped to conclusions on this forum before without knowing the Facts.  May God continue to show us Grace & Mercy.

The mayor of the town is a black man. I saw an interview with him earlier and he seemed to think the officer was justified in the shooting. Hopefully, people will listen to him and behave!

The young man that was with the deceased victim at the time of the shooting will certainly be a credible witness, wont he? Sort of like those who said Mr. Brown had his hands up?

I guess if an officer has a gun drawn on him, he needs to call time out, activate the camera on his uniform (if he has one) and then go back the the gunfight.... after he swings his arm in a big circle signalling roll the clock. 

Sad thing is that no amount of evidence will prove the police not guilty to some.

Good people don't need laws to act responsibly, bad people will always find ways around or loopholes in the laws.

BigGirl, I was also in the band and band president my Senior year(also 4th chair in the All-State Band). I started working at 14 washing ambulances for Holmes EMS in Port Arthur. At 16, I was a dispatcher for them, at 18, I completed and received my EMT. I'm pretty sure I was the only High School Senior to have an EMT Certification. I did all of that while going to HIgh School and being very active in the band. At 19, I was on my own. 

As for the incident itself... If a man nearly a foot taller than me that outweighs me by 180 lbs strikes me twice in the face, I'm going to pull my gun out to try and get him to stop. If he goes for my gun I'm going to shoot him. If this happens, he walks off, and then for whatever reason starts coming at me again, I'm going to start shooting again, and not stop until he is no longer coming at me. It's not that hard to figure out. If Darren Wilson was just a regular citizen, this would never have been newsworthy. And if brown was a regular citizen, rather than a proven criminal just minutes removed from a crime featuring the same type of aggressive behavior that Officer Wilson claimed he displayed, I'd lend a lot more credence to the possibility that this was a needless killing of someone who wasn't doing anything wrong.

Should the St. Louis Rams players be disiplined for their protest yesterday? The St Louis police aren't happy. Is the NFL the place to make political statements? Why is this any different than the celebration or taunting that draws fines from the league?

I definitely did not have near the information that you did. But I trust the fact that a grand jury reviewed over 70 hours of evidence and testimony and in the process they caught a few people testimony not matching the physical evidence that they could not convict him on anything. Then it must have been cut and dry...I truly felt the vast majority didn't care anything about the evidence.

What an embarrassment to all Americans! It is like watching Somalia or Iraq civil war only it is happening in our own country. And why are we in the street stealing bottles of liquor and candy bars? Because 1 person was shot while attacking another person. Not because the government rolled over 50 college students with tanks, or rounded up people on the middle of the night and then mass executed them and dumped them in a pit. Nope a thug was shot by a police officer, after robbing a store and pushing down the little clerk who tried to stop him, then charging and attacking the police officer when he confronted him for jay walking, robbery, or something else. So for this we burn down businesses, destroy people's lives, and look like complete fools to the entire world. Then we try to tell other countries don't kill and eat a whale, because you should be civilized like us! The leaders of the black community that have stirred this up or even didn't try to stop it should be embarrased. Everyone wants to be equal and have equal rights, then starting acting like you are not from a third world country and are part of a civilized society and maybe people will see you as equal.

I liked the DA saying how many people came forward with information and once they were shown the actual physical evidence they changed their stories. Then most said that they did not actually see the shooting but heard about it. That did not stop them from coming in to claim that they were witnesses. 
 
It sounds like there should have been indictments for perjury. 

I am of the opinion that the police should make it very clear upon announcing the no-bill that, the feds (Eric Holder and company) found that there isn't enough evidence to indict. If the following riots / protest take place, and persons or property are damaged, we will take all mean necessary to protect the innocent. Be it shoot you, tazer you, etc....and IF you are in the presence, participating or not, we are to assume you are part of the disturbance. You will be dealt with in the same manner as the violators....whine, cry, belly ache, cry discrimination etc if you so choose, but people will NOT be allowed to harm others, or others property...PERIOD! 
 
This announcement should be made nationally, and will apply in any city, county, or state....
