  1. When LP decides that there are no more goals, the FHS girls know that they areto work on posession, overlaps, etc. but to keep shooting -- only not on goal. Thus, you will see lots of shots through the football goal posts and wide of the frame Also, lots of crosses that never get reached by a FHS player. Anyone who actually puts a shot or cross on goal generally gets a seat on the bench. In general, its a bit less obvious than playing keep away.
  2. And, the GCM vs. FHS game was not close. Read the article in the Baytown Sun (GCM's local paper) if you do not believe me. They describe the "relentless Lady Mustang attack," note that GCM could manage "only one half-hearted shot on goal the entire match (on a free kick from 35 yards out)," and point out that GCM managed to get the ball across midfield only twice in the 2nd half. They also heap deserving praise on GCM's keeper for stopping so many shots, crosses, etc. So, if that's what you consider to be close, then I now understand why your teams....you know.
  3. Having seen both teams play, I think that Midway will be too fast, too skilled and too disciplined for Lumberton. I predict a 4-0 score.
  4. I was pulling for your girls. Congrats on a great season.
  5. Yes, congrats to the Lady Patriots. You have a great keeper.
  6. Krusty is watching!!! Haha. Good luck Lady Raiders!!!!!
  7. It won't be close. But, definitely congrats for an outstanding first year program.
  8. I'll be pulling for you as I've come to appreciate the Lady Indians, but my head still thinks it will be an uphill battle.
  9. Wow, I can't believe you jerks are bashing the mighty Lumberton girls. Don't you know you are not allowed to offer opinions that anyone might be better than the Lady Raiders. Get out of here! Oh, and BTW, you are completely right. But, that's besides the point!
  10. To Coach W. First, I prefer Krusty to Bozo. You are dating yourself with your reference. Second, if you had actually bothered to read my posts (what a novel idea), you would see that I have seen your girls play, and they are (IMO) relatively slow. Some are not, but as a team they are. You can disagree all you want, but my opinion is BASED UPON my personal observations. I won't bother rehashing the stout issue -- I'll just presume that you would agree with a previous poster's comments about those pesky double meaning words (I myself hate the triple meaning words). Third, I'm sorry, but if they are not playing D1 or Super 2, then they are not D1 or S2 level. It's really neat that you, their coach think they are, and you can offer whatever excuse you want. The bottom line is that they are D2 players -- really good D2 players, but D2 players nontheless. Fourth, once again if you had actually bothered to read my posts, you would see that I did not say that your girls themselves are classless. What they did was classless, but I agree that the coach is responsible for what his or her players do in terms of running up the score. That, in fact, is the tenor of my posts. Keep standing up for your girls. Just, do us all a favor and start to read.
  11. That a good win. Congrats and good luck vs Brenham!
  12. Actually, I never do that -- except when someone is dumb enough to predict a lopsided victory against a FHS team. Then I gloat -- a little bit. If the Brenham coach says that Lumberton gave his boys all they could handle, then I believe it! Congrats to Lumberton's boys squad for a great game, and a good season!
  13. I wasn't being ugly, and the truth is that the only people who are doing any bashing on here are the people who are directing stuff at me. My original post pointed out that there is no excuse for a 14-0 drubbing of any team. You agree with that. Yest, in response, I have thus far been called all kinds of names, falsely accused of saying the Lumberton girls are "thick" (which I did not do), and then blamed for the fact that the English language is difficult and notorious for its "double meaning" words. Please! My question about the level of club play amongst the Lumberton girls was in response to someone ( who tried to take me to task for suggesting that other teams might be faster) who posted touting the "select" soccer experience of the Lumberton girls. Select soccer is a vague term, and my experience is that player speed is greater among the higher levels of club play.
  14. k so like, you know, like I hardly know what to, you know, say. k?
  15. It means that there are all kinds of good players, but some are bigger, faster and better than others. As you go from Premier to D1 to S2 to D2, the differences are pretty apparent (that's not to say that any given player could not move up a level or even two). So am I right about the Lumberton girls being predominantly D2 and Super Blue?
  16. Actually, you don't need to listen to me. Why don't you go to the South Texas Soccer Portal website and see what the Cinco Ranch coach and others are saying about dear old Lumberton running up the score? But, of course, you are from L-Town so you don't need to listen to anyone else!
  17. Select??? What is it 1978? Do you mean Division 2 or Super Blue? Because I've watched them play, and that seems about right.
  18. And, shark retreats and hides when it is shown that he has said something wrong! Answer this Shark -- Is there any reason to run up a 14-0 score?
  19. I should probably add that Shark owes me an apology .... but I bet he does not offer it.
  20. The bottom line folks is that running up a 14-0 score is classless. Most teams that are any good have a rule to not obtain a double digit lead -- the one FHS win by a 10-0 score was, as I recall the result of an own goal when the score was 9-0 already. My personal view is that the FHS coach shoud shut it down after a 6 goal lead (except if we ever play Lumberton). And, there is a big difference between even 10-0 and 14-0. As for calling the Lumberton girls slow-footed and stout, I have watched them play and slow-footed is an entirely accurate description. I'm sorry if that hurts, but once (or if) you see teams from outside SE Texas, you will understand. And, stout actually means strong but arrogant -- which aptly descibes any team that would put up 14 goals against a weak sister like Central! As for those of you who jumped to the conclusion that I meant chubby or thick, I leave it to you to explain why you would assume such a thing, but don't you dare hang on me your aparently unspoken views about the fitness of the Lumberton players!
  21. Okay oldtimer, put down the Jack Daniels, and try to concentrate. One post is about girls and thet other is sbout boys. Think about it some and I'm sure the difference will come to you.
  22. BTW, the Brenham team returns all of its starters from last year's Regional Champions! Sorry bug, but that knock at the door is reality!
  23. Brenham will win by 4 or 5 to zip!!! Bye Bye Lumberton!!
  24. And, I stand by my statement that beating up Central by a 14-0 score is poor sportsmanship! As best as I can tell, your excuse is that Central beats the **** out of you teams in football and basketball, so you compensate by doing it in soccer. That's lame.
