  1. Crosby looks loaded up for another district title & deep playoff run. Myles at QB with the exp. coming back on offense should continue the cougars tradition of powerful high scoring offense. P.A. probably the only team with enough talent, depth & speed in district to challenge Crosby if the new starters step up on both sides of the ball. Baytown Sterling is the dark horse, could slip in & grab that 3rd or 4th playoff spot???
  2. 21-6A DCTF 2022 PRESEASON TEAM INFO WEST BROOK 2021: Overall Record- 5-5 \ 2-4 District Record Lettermen R/L 10/40 Starters Returning Offense- 4 Defense-3 Key Players WR/CB Jayvon Sorrell (6-2, 180, 4.6) DL Braxton Chambers (6-0, 285) LB John Hardin(6-0,190,4.8) OL Christian Spencer (5-10, 275) ATH Terrell Smith (5-9, 170, 4.4) WR Rae’G Dailey (5-9, 170, 4.5) DL Jabarous Broussard (6-0, 290) WR Jaylen Dartez (5-8, 160, 4.4) West Brook will look to retool on the fly in 2022 as just 10 lettermen return from a team that just missed out on the playoffs a year ago. Getting back to the postseason this year will be a challenge in a very challenging district. WR/CB Sorrell (407 yards, 2 TDs receiving) is back and will be a key weapon on offense, and he could be asked to contribute on the defensive side of the ball. There are two starters back on the offensive line in Spencer and Jordan, and they’ll be holding things down for a very young offense. ATH Smith (507 yards, 5 TDs rushing) is a dynamic playmaker who will line up at multiple spots. The defense is led by DL Chambers, a two-year starter on the defensive line, while LB Hardin is expected to play a much larger role for the defense. United Timberwolves 2021: Overall Record- 4-7 Bi-District Finalist \ 4-3 District Record Lettermen R/L 28/23 Starters Returning Offense-7 Defense- 5 Key Players QB Jonathan Martin (5-9, 170, 4.8), DL Christian Gladney (5-10, 260, 4.9) LB Brian Jackson (5-10, 220, 4.8) OL Weston Davis (6-5, 280), LB Anthony Hawkins (6-0, 220, 4.7) OL Trevanti Davis (6-4, 290) RB Athean Renfro (5-8, 225, 4.8) WR Trelyn Porchia (6-4, 200, 4.7) ATH Gilbert Anderson III (5-8, 145, 4.6) Top Prospects OL/DL Jacob Green RB Garieus Coleman OL Antonio Lewis DB Cameron Mickles WR Jaylan Moore Beaumont United makes the move up from Class 5A Division I into one of the state’s toughest 6A districts and they’ll do it with a new head coach as Beaumont native Darrell Colbert arrives after turning things around at Houston Westbury. Colbert says QB Martin (692 yards, 5 TDs passing), “is poised for a great senior season,” and he’ll lead the Timberwolves attack. The offensive line is led by juniors Weston and Trevanti Davis, both of whom are FBS levelt talents in the trenches. The defense is led by disruptive junior DL Gladney (32 tackles, 7 TFL), “Gladney has a non-stop motor and plays sideline-to-sideline,” Colbert said. LB Hawkins is the leader of the defense and is also an FBS level recruit. Colbert says overall depth with the jump to Class 6A will be a big concern going into 2022. Summer Creek 2021: Overall Record-10-4 Regional Finalist / 3-3 District Record Lettermen R/L 26/33 Starters Returning Offense- 6 Defense-3 Key Players ATH Melvin Nichols (6-0, 190, 4.5 RB Lloyd Avant (5-11, 190, 4.5) DE Darien Riley (6-4, 215, 4.6) DB Paul Singleton (6-0, 180, 4.5) DB Darien Hargrove (5-10, 165, 4.5) WR Roriyon Richardson (6-1, 180, 4.5) DE Kyran Duhon (6-3, 220, 4.8) LB Jaylen Carter (5-11, 190, 4.7) OL Weldton Cassel (5-10, 300) Top prospects OL Viliami Salakielu, QB Jahrik Jones, OL Christian Crockett, DB Matai Tomas, DT Jeydon Coleman, DT Jaylen Mays, OL Alexander Vigil, TE Maxwell Huisin’tveld. After missing the playoffs in 2019 and 2020, the Bulldogs broke out with a huge season, got hot in the playoffs and advanced all the way to the regional finals. The offense expects to be potent once again with the return of ATH Nichols (677 yards, 13 TDs rushing; 39-504, 2 TDs receiving; 290 yards, 4 TDs passing) and tough-running RB Avant (1,794 yards, 27 TDs rushing). QB Jones (1,462 yards, 5 TDs passing) was a second-team all-district pick a year ago, as well. Defense is where Summer Creek has some questions as the Bulldogs only return three starters. DE Riley (30 tackles, 9 sacks) is a rangy, edge rusher who has big-time athleticism, and DBs Singleton (59 tackles) and Hargrove (5 INTs) return to lead what looks to be an improved secondary. C.E. King 2021: Overall Record-10-3 Regional Semifinalist / 4-2 District Record Lettermen R/L 22/41 Starters returning Offense- 2 Defense-4 Key Players DE Dylan Spencer (6-5, 255, 4.7) DB Will Hicks (6-2, 195, 4.5) DT Kimard Kimble (6-1, 300) DE Jo’Laison Landry (6-3, 240, 4.6) CB Lavonte Johnson (6-2, 170, 4.4) DT Zaylon Davis (6-3, 285) WR Vincent Jones (5-11, 175, 4.4) CB Joseph Prescott (6-0, 185, 4.4) LB Jeremie Tshiyoyi (6-0, 205, 4.7) Change is in the air at C.E. King as only six starters return from a regional semifinalist squad, and the Panthers have a new head coach as former DC George Young steps in to lead the way in what is a difficult district. The defense will be led by a loaded defensive line anchored by DE Spencer (64 tackles, 12 TFL, 9 sacks). DT Kimble (74 tackles, 18 TFL, 5 sacks) is a monster in the middle and DE Landry (42 tackles, 4 sacks) is outstanding on the other side. The secondary is also in good shape with the return of DB Hicks (82 tackles, 2 INTs) and CB Johnson (24 tackles). The offense has a lot of question marks, and how the Panthers new faces on that side of the ball progress will ultimately determine how the season will unfold. Atascocita Eagles 2021: Overall Record-11-3 Regional Finalist \ 5-1 District Record Lettermen R/L 30/17 Starters returning Offense- 6 Defense- 5 Key Players QB Zion Brown (6-0, 180, 4.6) DT Samu Taumanupepe (6-3, 385 DB Braylon Conley (6-1, 175, 4.5) LB Jadon Ducos (5-11, 210, 4.8 RB Jamari Green (6-1, 190, 4.5) RB Tory Blaylock (5-10, 185, 4.5) OL Nate Kibble (6-3, 305) Top Prospects DT Michael Musquiz, DT Landon Fontenot, OL Daniel Salley, LB Marquell Dorsey, DB Pharell Gordon, RB Justin Montgomery, DB Quest Simmons, DB DeAngelo Hayes. The Eagles advanced all the way to the regional finals and ended Allen’s long home winning streak a year ago, but two losses to eventual state champion North Shore derailed the Eagles hopes for a state title. AHS will again be a threat in Region III as the Eagles are loaded with talent. QB Brown (2,060 yards, 20 TDs passing; 687 yards, 9 TDs rushing) started the final eight games as a sophomore and got better each week. He has a pair of game-breakers in the backfield in junior RB Green and sophomore RB Blaylock - both are getting FBS attention and will operate behind junior OL Kibble, another high-end recruit. The Atascocita defense is led up front by massive DT Taumanupepe, who holds multiple FBS offers and moves incredibly well for a player his size. DB Conley picked off three passes a year ago and will lead an always talented Atascocita secondary. North Shore 2021: Overall Record-15-1 State Champion \ 6-0 District Record Lettermen R/L 26/41 Starters Returning Offense- 5 Defense- 3 Key Players WR David Amador (6-1, 170, 4.5), DB Jayven Anderson (6-1, 200, 4.5) DB Jacoby Davis (5-11, 170, 4.4) DE Jaylon Joseph (6-2, 220, 4.7) OL Omarion Dudley (5-9, 315 QB Kaleb Bailey (6-2, 205, 4.6) WR Christopher Barnes (5-8, 165, 4.4) LB Dillon Dixon (6-1, 220, 4.6) RB D’Andre Hardeman (5-9, 180, 4.5). Top Prospects DB Evan Jackson, DB Devin Sanchez, DB Tegan Bocard, DL Ray Nichols, OL Tyler Edwards, WR Terrence Guillory, TE Kaleb Thomas, OL Zachary Chavanne. The Mustangs won their third state title in four seasons and 2021’s title might be the most impressive of the four as they got it done behind freshman QB Bailey (924 yards, 12 TDs passing; 783 yards, 7 TDs rushing). Bailey returns to lead the offense and has a dynamic group of receivers led by Amador (52-1,006, 11 TDs receiving). Dudley is the anchor of an offensive line that brings back two starters. The defense has some holes to fill, especially in the front seven, but the North Shore secondary will be among the state’s best led by DBs Anderson (90 tackles, 5 INTs) and Davis (40 tackles, 3 INTs). The big questions aside from replacing defensive losses in the front seven, will be settling on a featured running back, where sophomore RB Hardeman may get the first look.
  3. Interesting, so it's all the coaches fault these players are quitting? Are coaches being too hard or mean? Are the players upset the coaches are holding people accountable, enforcing the rules when rules are broken & quitting? Are the players quitting football to focus 100% on their future MLB, PGA or MLS careers, nothing negative or coaches fault about that? The jury is still out on the png move to run good coaches out & replace with outsiders, it will be year 2 & after to get real results on that.
  4. Jeremy Abshier is a key asset to the coaching staff
