  15. Trinity Tigers 2022 INFO- The Tigers are hoping a drop down to Division II will help turn their football fortunes around in 2022. ATH- Kaden Barnes can do a little bit of everything and will be a key weapon in the offense, while TE/DE- Marshall Sizemore is a four-year starter and has a chance for a big senior season. ATH- Juju Clayborne makes up for his lack of size with big-time explosiveness and playmaking ability according to Coach Goodman. “We’ll be a lot stronger and more disciplined this season,” he said. 2021 Results- Overall Record- 0-8 / 0-6 District Record Lettermen R/L: 12/13 Returning Starters- Offense- 5 Defense- 5 Impact Players ATH- Kaden Barnes- 5-8, 150, 4.6 speed ATH- Juju Clayborne- 5-5, 130, 4.5 speed TE/DE- Marshall Sizemore- 6-0, 190, 4.8 speed WR/DB- Cole Hortman- 5-9, 150, 4.6 speed OL/DT- Garrett Craig- 5-8, 210 WR/DB- Chanston Holland- 6-1, 160, 4.8 speed RB/LB- Remi Lassman- 5-6, 155, 4.9 speed WR/DB- Chanston Holland- 6-1, 160, 4.8 speed
  16. Kirbyville 2022 INFO- Head coach Trey Allen will look to get the Wildcats back into the playoffs in his second season running the show, and he believes having a full offseason with his team combined with a veteran offense will result in major improvement. Experienced QB- Brayden Mahathay (655 yards, 5 TDs passing; 671 yards, 6 TDs rushing) is back to pilot the offense along with bruising tough running from RB- Taylan Alfred. The offensive line has big & strong veterans returning with Jarron Roden and Hunter O’Bannion back in the fold. LB- Bron Melvin (56 tackles) will anchor a young defensive unit, he has good size and speed to cause havoc for offenses from side line to side line. 2021 Results- Overall Record- 4-5 / 2-4 District Record Lettermen R/L- 12/22. 17. HOUSTON LAMAR 2021 Results- 8-3, District Champs, Bi-District Finalist / 6-0 District Record Lettermen R/L 19/41 Returning Starters Offense- 6 Defense- 6 2022 INFO- The Texans regained their spot as the top team in Houston ISD last year and with a strong nucleus returning, and Lamar should be labeled again as the favorite in 18-6A. QB- Kenneth Rosenthal (1,275 yards, 11 TDs passing; 404 yards, 7 TDs rushing) is a dual-threat signal caller and a great decision maker. RBs Jordan Reaves (170 yards, 3 TDs rushing) and Kelton Weathers (292 yards, 2 TDs rushing; 18-194, 1 TD receiving) should pace the ground attack, while WR- Tristen Brown (333 yards, 4 TDs receiving) is the key returning target in the passing game. LB- Carson Skotak (64 tackles, 9 TFL, 4 sacks) is an athletic playmaker who covers a lot of ground, while Coach Lindsey calls DT- Jarvis Butler (32 tackles, 12 TFL) a dominant interior lineman. 24. Magnolia West 2022 INFO The Mustangs have a couple of key questions on offense as they’ll be young & inexperienced at QB and on the offensive line, but they do return RB- Kai Aroca-Disdier (946 yards, 9 TDs rushing; 12-111, 1 TD receiving) and WR- Colton Adcox (47-608, 4 TDs receiving), both of these playmakers will be vital to the Mustangs’ success. Junior WR- Gus Jordan (14-229, 4 TDs receiving) impressed as a sophomore and could be a bigger player in the offense. The defense will be the teams strength bringing back experience at all three levels led by a solid duo of linebackers in Tyler Harsch (109 tackles, 10 TFL, 4 sacks) and Caylin Dygert (63 tackles, 9 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INTs). Junior LB- Sam Mattingly (28-380, 6 TDs receiving) makes the move from WR to LB and will help the defense out as well.
