  1. Would you? I'd be happy to take a bet on that one. Traylor ain't leavin' Gilmer for PNG.
  2. One thing is for sure...PNG will get something different...may be better, may be worse but only time will tell.
  3. Kinda comes in handy, wouldn't you say bru? It is amazing how a coach's IQ is very closely tied to the talent of his players. I am not saying coaching cannot make a difference, because it can, but you can only do so much with limited talent.
  4. Good question, bear? I wonder what he means by "modern" football? I assume that he is talking about a spread type offense, which is fine if you have the right personnel, but it certainly is not the only way to win football games...Alabama doesn't play "modern" football and they have been successful this season...Florida beat them, yes, but that had more to do with talent than scheme.
  5. Traylor ain't leaving Gilmer for PNG!
  6. Their odds of getting someone good improve if they add the AD tag and money
  7. Dogs have to eliminate the turnovers...this was a very winnable game for them, but they will be fine as English settles on his rotation as district approaches...he certainly has this program moving in the right direction...to even be competetive with Memorial a few years back would have been a joke, much less have a chance to win...i like the direction of the program.
  8. It's not everything, but given the choice, I would rather see our kids be successful early on than not...it does seem like WOS, Nederland, and Lumberton seem to dominate youth footbal over the past several years.
  9. Coog, I agree with your assessment of LM...no program can be as successful as LM by doing things "wrong"...Nederladn has played them several times over the years and I have the utmost respect for the LM program. I still find this Credeur rumor to be crazy...I will eat some crow on this myself if he leaves, but I just don't see this happening...I'll believe it when I see it...sounds to me like Credeur is a hometown boy with a good thing going and unless someone offers him a ridiculous amount of money, he ain't going nowhere.
  10. Short answer to the question...yes, and probably sooner rather than later.
  11. You know player 666, whats creepy is the attention you are giving me. Almost like the girl that's mean to you because she really likes you Thank God I'm married with children........ That really makes alot of sense traffichippy, it sounds to me like you were one of the clowns involved in the whole embarrising situation. And if you were you were not involved you should not try to take up for idiot coaches that your league put on the field. The board is in charge of the coaches and if they can not handle them, then the STJFL should. 66 is right on the money. You can surely dish it out but you sure as heck cant take it. :'( dragon, that is a bad analogy comapring these guys to some of the most famous idiots of all time in Knight, Martin, and Hayes...were they successful on the field/court? yes...woudl I want my kid to play for any of these nuts...no...i realize that this may be my opinion only, but I am sure that many others look at these guys in a not so favorable light.
  12. I don't know anything about the situation but it seems far fetched on the surface to me.
  13. I will always be able to look back at this team and remeber them as playing extremely hard...great game yesterday and I will be honest, I really thought we were going to score there at the end and send it to OT, but it just wasn't to be...Magnolia never gave up and congrats for hanging in when it looked like all was lost for them...football is a funny game and it is funny how a few bounces of the ball can make all the difference. Proud of this group of Bulldogs and look forward to big things in the immediate near future...I know these guys are disappointed right now, but they have nothing to be ashamed of at all...they played their hearts out and represented our community and more importantly themselves, very well.
  14. Wow, ref...you missed that one about as far as you could...impressive win for Nederland especially with Forney still playing football.
  15. No question it's Kirby if he can go...if he can't, I feel confident in Smith as he helped lead us to a win last week.
  16. sounds like Brady is much less likely than Bellow...hope the best for both...I will take the Dogs in this one, 31-28.
  17. rider, I think that you mentioned a key point...strength, size, and speed...these kids seem to have a rare combination of all three.
  18. I think I'll go watch Nederland play Magnolia this weekend...is that what you mean??
  19. You are probably right, bru...i just tend to be more understated...put it this way, the future looks bright.
  20. I think what you saw last friday night was a sneak peek of things to come for Nederland in the not too distant future...the talent pool in grades 10, 9, and 8 is going to produce some very solid Nederland teams.
  21. Please don't play the "if" card...dang this is one of my pet peeves...injuries are as much a part of football as anything...it is unfortunate that this kid got hurt and missed the game, but most teams have to deal with some type of adversity and/or injuries...you lost, accept it and move on...your kids had a great year and your program is moving in the right direction...don't start making excuses.
  22. You've got to be kidding me? In a pee wee game no less...some people really need to get a life and a grip...pathetic...whoever is responsible should be banned for life, period!
  23. These kids played with amazing grit tonight..great win with the odds stacked against them big time...no one picked Nederland to win, you basically spot them 2 early TDs after turnovers, and you suffer three huge key injuries during the game and still win...great to see the sophs step up like they did and grant lovelady ran very well when grogan was battling injury...despite what the number would tell you, this defense stepped up tonight and made key stops when they had to. Way to pull this one out Dogs!! Great effort and great win...looking forward to next week against Magnolia...also definitely wish for speedy recoveries for bellow, brady, and grogan.
  24. This is purely superstitous because the Dogs seem to do better when I make a pick, so here goes. Nederland 28 CE King 20
