Few more decisions from UIL
UIL declines to install a punishment for players who are ejected. Punishments will remain under local control.
Standing committee passes motion to create a separate championship for Class A's baseball and softball seasons. Done in volleyball in 2015. There would only be two from each district going into playoffs.

Really love that this is being at least discussed. Baseball Playoffs need to have some uniformity. I am a series guy. Also saw where for football they discussed possibly giving top two seeds in each district home playoff games for 5A-6A. Really like the idea of this as well. Hopefully this will continue to be discussed and will trickle over to baseball as well. With four teams from each district getting in playoffs now many teams are playing home and home for bidistrict rounds anyway.

Can't leave us hanging! When are they going to announce?
No clue.

If its true that Jasper got who I hear they did, I can't think of a HS baseball resume better than this guy has put up the last decade.
Is Davis to HF official?

I hate to see them go too. However, now those 4:30 games are someone else's problems. I hope they get lights soon. Good luck to HJ.
Hear they voted them down again for next year. Big disadvantage for their kids. Along with the fact that if they get much rain at all they are forced to play home games on the road just to get games in.

Both teams still looking for fields to play tonight's game.

can this round of the playoffs spill over into saturday? or does the winner have to be determined by the end of the day Friday?
I have heard both.
You have until Saturday, but state semifinal round begins Wednesday. Benefits you to finish by Friday, but have to get there first.

Robinson Twitter just sent this out.
Game 1 vs. LCM at College Park has been cancelled. Alternate sites being considered. Stay tuned for updates.

Definitely benefits LCM if this is forced to turn into one game playoff. Tough thing is that they will have two days to get at least one game in to save the series.
-
HJ will be good enough to compete with Huffman for DC. They get in the playoffs they essentially get a first round bye being matched up with HISD schools. Then should face old district foes in area round.

He was very successful at Diboll when they made a pretty deep run a few years back.

24-4A slides to 22-4A and will matchup with 21-4A in bidistrict.
21-4A
Jasper
Hudson
Diboll
Huntington
Shepherd
22-4A
BC
HF
LCM
OF
Silsbee
WOS

With the new realignment for 2017-2018 if these schools finish in same slots this would be a bi-district matchup rather than a regional semifinal.

LCM is having a very similar run to what WOS did last year. When you get hot, anything could happen. This team is never out of a game and their belief level is through the roof. Nothing scares them. I think they win this series and head to state!!!!
Completely different runs. WOS had three dominant pitchers and were able to outlast people in a series. If you ask most people that follow HS baseball closely (coaches, and fans) most would tell you that one gamers and series are completely different animals. It is much easier to knock off a dominant team once than it is twice. The only similarities I see between the two teams are they are both finding a way to get the job done.
-
HJ job looks a little more attractive now since they are moving to a weaker baseball district. Should be competing with Huffman for that district title the next two years.
-
What makes LCM's run more impressive is that they do not have overpowering pitching and yet they find a way to go out and score more runs than their opponents.

It was a great game last night between Jasper and LCM. I believe we could have been neck and neck all night. But as the game started getting later in the game LCM started playing good ball. I believe we can't struggle early against any team this deep in the playoffs. I'd like to know from the Bridge City folks how Robinson looked?
Bears gonna need to win flip for one game to have a shot.
