The Evadale Lady Rebels won their third straight District Championship by defeating Sabine Pass 89-16 on Tuesday.
The Lady Rebels are (25-5) for the year and have won 32 straight District games.

Southeast Texas Coaches Association selected Debbie Hollyfield as GirlsVolleyball Coach of the Year. Coach Hollyfield led her team to a 32-7 record last season. Evadale lost in the Regional Final to State Champion Iola.
Hollyfield started her Coaching career in Spurger and has been at Evadale for the past 13 years. She has a career District won loss record of 118-10 at Evadale

Southeast Texas Coaches Association selected Robert Hollyfield 2015-16 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. Hollyfield led his Evadale Lady Rebels Team to a 31-6 record. Last season Evadale lost to LaPoyner in the Regional Semi Final 55-53 in double overtime.
Hollyfield is in his 20th season as the Head Coach in Evadale and his teams could eclipse the 500 win total next season.

We saw some great games and entertaining basketball. Hope all the fans enjoyed the tournament. Thanks to all who provided for the hospitality room and all the volunteers,parents, faculty,students and administration, who helped with the tournament. As a loyal cub fan of 69 years I have to admit it is such an emotional game for me. I have watched the cubs all my life, ever since I was old enough to walk, it was just something you grew up with where I was born, much like a Dallas Cowboy fan of the 60s. Moving to SE Texas in 1978 I left behind my roots except for one my love of the cubs of summer. Now I am asking myself is this really happening. I watched my dad wish so much he could see the cubs win the world series but that was not possible. After years of frustration and being poked fun at by my friends and all the kids I played ball with and yes even adults who thought I was crazy for rooting for the loveable losers, I now wait for game 7 of the world series and I sit and wonder what could go wrong. A win will let me breathe a sigh of relief and shed a tear of joy for all those years that only a true cub fan can feel. I will celebrate quietly and thank all the players this year for what they have done for me and all the other faithful cub fans around the country. Yes even those fans and players who have left us will smile down upon them tonite.
ON THE OTHER HAND IF IT DOESNT GO MY WAY I WILL TURN TO MY WIFE AND SIMPLY SAY "MAYBE NEXT YEAR"

Evadale takes third in YMBL.
After sweeping thru pool play on Thursday the Lady Rebels fell a little short in the semi-final to Hardins Lady Hornets,
(26-24,25-22). They regained their composure and posted a (25-20,25-19) win over Woodville to claim third place in the small school division of the tournament.
Lady Rebels defeated Hardin in pool play (25-23,25-23) on Thursday but couldnt turn the hat trick on the lady hornets this season. Hardin played very tough and as usual are well coached.
Deweyville captured the championship again this season.
