  1. IMO, Jasper was not the underdog in the home games vs. HF and WO-S. Yes, they were in the Silsbee game but not the other two games. I picked Jasper to beat HF but I also picked WO-S to beat Jasper. (kind of went out on a limb in that one) To be honest, 7-3 is about where I thought the Dawgs would be through the regular season.
  2. I smell someone trying to generate bulletin board material for his Panther team. 😉
  3. Who picked PAM to be dominant? All the publications and websites I saw had them finishing 2nd behind Crosby. They weren't even ranked in the preseason top 25. Dominant??
  4. [Hidden Content] Teams in our coverage area in this week's rankings: 6A #2 North Shore #8 Atascocita #21 New Caney 5A DII #2 FB Marshall 4A DI #6 Lumberton 4A DII #4 Silsbee 3A DII #3 Newton 2A DI #1 Timpson #9 Centerville
  5. Where did you get a "projected 3-7" season? Every publication or website I saw had Jasper finishing no worse than 3rd in district and no worse than a 6-4 record. I mean DCTF had them #17 in the preseason rankings.
  6. It's the playoffs and NFHS/Texan Live has the video broadcast rights to all playoff games. Now will they do the game? Nothing on their schedule as of yet.
  7. Exactly
  8. And if Silsbee doesn't turn it over and doesn't blow coverage on a couple of plays (mistakes), Silsbee wins by 10 or more. That kind of talk goes both ways.
  9. You know what? I completely forgot about Coach King. Goodrich is still in our coverage area and he is definitely the longest tenured coach in our area. I'm thinking it's every bit of 35+ years now.
  10. Well, in tournament play, it's not good to look ahead. Particularly a game that takes two wins to get to.
  11. Incorrect. If Lumberton wins, they would face the winner of Houston Furr/Stafford in the 2nd round.
  12. These two teams do have a common opponent in Brazosport. Silsbee beat Brazosport in week 4, 49-20 Columbia lost to Brazosport in week 3, 33-15. For what that's worth.
  13. Then folks should worry about that when the time comes.
  14. Isn't Lumberton playing Palestine?
  15. I'll be on the sidelines for Diboll/Buna at Woodville Thursday night and East Chambers/Woodville at Lumberton Friday night. Love it when I can travel under 40 miles to get to playoff games.
  16. Loved Art. He was special and a good man. I helped with the WO-S/Silsbee game this year. Had a lot of fun. Was nice just to walk in press box, put on a headset and talk and not have to deal with the producing of the broadcast. Hopefully I can get this arrangement again in the playoffs.

  18. Some times you have to go out of the area to get officials because there are not enough crews locally to cover all the games.
  19. One of my worst betting Saturday's in a long time. Ended up a -260 for the day.
  20. Unless I am needed, no. Silsbee football broadcast are in good hands with James and Charlie. Now there is some talk of me helping with some other schools playoff games. Stay tuned.
  21. Very winnable unless they don't contain that Brazosport QB.
  22. Thank you sir for those kind words. Means a lot. I do miss doing the games but not so much the setting up and the breaking down involved in doing the broadcasts. If all I had to do was show up, put a headset on and do my thing, I probably could be talked into doing a few games. lol
  23. No problem. My pleasure. Always enjoy coming to the Dale. Great folks.
  24. If you are talking statewide, I would have to do some research. If just talking our coverage area, I'm on record saying WO-S will beat Bellville.
