Well, in tournament play, it's not good to look ahead. Particularly a game that takes two wins to get to.

Incorrect. If Lumberton wins, they would face the winner of Houston Furr/Stafford in the 2nd round.

These two teams do have a common opponent in Brazosport. Silsbee beat Brazosport in week 4, 49-20 Columbia lost to Brazosport in week 3, 33-15. For what that's worth.

Then folks should worry about that when the time comes.

I'll be on the sidelines for Diboll/Buna at Woodville Thursday night and East Chambers/Woodville at Lumberton Friday night. Love it when I can travel under 40 miles to get to playoff games.

Loved Art. He was special and a good man. I helped with the WO-S/Silsbee game this year. Had a lot of fun. Was nice just to walk in press box, put on a headset and talk and not have to deal with the producing of the broadcast. Hopefully I can get this arrangement again in the playoffs.

Some times you have to go out of the area to get officials because there are not enough crews locally to cover all the games.

One of my worst betting Saturday's in a long time. Ended up a -260 for the day.

Unless I am needed, no. Silsbee football broadcast are in good hands with James and Charlie. Now there is some talk of me helping with some other schools playoff games. Stay tuned.

Nothing extreme. Just a reprimand. Not really a biggie unless it continues.

No Beaumont school makes the football playoffs this season. That has not happened since the 1993 season when Central and West Brook missed the playoffs. What is the issue? Players? Coaching? School support? Lack of interest? What is it? There is too much talent in Beaumont Texas to not have at least one of their teams make the playoffs. Particularly when 4 teams go. I know having both teams in 6A did not help, but the fact remains that the football in Beaumont looks to be on the decline.

After watching this game on Texan Live and KJAS this morning, I cannot determine if it was a catch or not by those camera angles. As for the officiating crew, they did not have a good game but it certainly wasn't one sided. Missed calls on both sides. I have seen worse crews or worse called games than this one. Coach picked this crew and did not want to play Thursday because he would lose this crew. Oh well The interview I believe he will regret and just might get a reprimand from UIL. We will see.
