Just about every 1A basketball district in the state are 7-8 team districts. [Hidden Content] I like larger districts. I don't like 4-6 team districts when 4 teams go to playoffs. A team should have to win more district games than they lose to qualify for playoffs. That's not the case sometimes in smaller size districts.

In District 27 Apple Springs Broaddus Groveton Centerville Kennard Laneville Martinsville Wells Zavalla I thought about including this district in our coverage area because of Broaddus and Zavalla. But right now, I am going to pass. Could change my mind later.

Lufkin is petitioning UIL to be moved out of district 7 and into district 9. Keep up

Yep but they opted up to play 2A football. They will play 1A in all the other sports.

The TBD is to see if Lufkin joins the district.

Lufkin has the unanimous vote from the district that they are trying to leave. That is very important in their petition process. Not sure district 9 will be unanimous.

This district is just for football. All other sports and activities are in a more manageable district.

Very very few. Usually it's just one school that appeals their district alignment. In this case, the whole district should appeal it's regional alignment.

I wonder if the schools in the district will appeal. They do have a window to appeal to UIL. I agree, this seems egregious.

In this realignment, the two local 4A districts (18 & 19) will no longer play each other in Bi-District. 18 will play 17 19 will play 20.
