The crazy growth around Hwy 59/I-69 corridor
AggiesAreWe replied to TrojanWarrior08's topic in High School Football
I want to say Cleveland was 4A in 2018. 7 years later they are 6A. Went from a 900 high school enrollment to now 3736. 4x larger in a 7-8 year span. Those are just the numbers, which is very unbelievable, but does not account for who those numbers represent. That's the real issue. There are only 32 schools out over 1200 in the state of Texas that has a larger enrollment than Cleveland. Just about every single one of them are larger metro area schools. No one could have been prepared for what Cleveland has had to go through. NO ONE!!! -

You are wasting your time trying to explain that situation to that guy. He don't get it or want to get it. -

Lumberton growth is nothing like Cleveland growth. If you can't see or understand that, then I am wasting my time. -

They have been ranked a couple other times as well over the years. But it's been pretty rare for the Cards. -

Not the first time. BC was ranked as high as #4 in 1981. -

I don't think they are worthy just yet. I also don't think a lot of the folks involved in the rankings knew about the transfer to HJ. But even with Lowe, not sure how good they will be. Time will tell. -
I will be attending this Saturday's game. Wife wants to go see some of her friends for Homecoming. Will be tailgating before the game. Look forward to it all.

I feel like the Bruins gets some points via defense or special teams. -

Coaches fill out a form and rank a region then return it to TABC. So if a team is ranked, it's mostly due to the coaches input. But I am certain some coaches and media are not privy to all info on some teams. I knew about the two transfers for West Brook. I would have them right there with BU. -

I was asked to have input on these preseason rankings. For the preseason rankings, they try to have every region covered. They like to see at least 4-5 teams from each region in the rankings to start the season. I stated that I thought Memorial could be one of the top 6-7 in the region but would not have issue with them not being ranked. Same went for Silsbee. That situation was a little harder since there was many more teams in the region that should be ranked over them. -

Been a while since Silsbee wasn't in the preseason rankings. My guess would be at least 23 years ago. -
