  1. Okay, what is the over/under line for how long Coach Landry will be there? BTW, Congrats( I think ) and good luck Coach Landry.
  2. Get your facts straight. First off, Buckner is not '6"4, he's '6"1, and he did not lead his team to the playoffs this year. Memorial did not make the playoffs this year.
  3. I think BISD will start building the stadium very soon. I would bet dirt will be flying before Summer is over. Wanna bet? Name your price.
  4. I may even have to go out and broadcast one of their games this year for our site.
  5. You're joking, right? They'll probably build a 12K stadium for that price. PNG is spending about $10M on renovating their stadium, and it costs a lot more to build a new one from the ground up. The BISD will look like a nice high school stadium while Lamar will have a nice college stadium. Coachacola, you forget who you're talking too. UNLV is the king of pessimism when it comes to Lamar's football stadium. He is so clouded with negativity that he can't even see the numbers correctly. You are right, BISD will build a 12,000 to 15,000 seat high school stadium, nothing more.
  6. Most likely games won't be played there till 2012 or 2013, if not later. BISD knows how to drag their feet.
  7. BISD Board Approves Land Purchase for Athletic Complex Comments 0 | Recommend 0 June 19, 2008 - 8:58PM Ashley Rodrigue & Scott Lawrence The Beaumont school board has approved the purchase of land for a new multi-purpose athletic complex, and as KFDM News first reported in April, the land is off Interstate 10 near Brooks Road. The board met in executive session during its Thursday night meeting, and it emerged shortly before 9 p.m. and approved the purchase. The pricetag is $3,655,000. The land is near the baseball fields at Ford Park. It's on the same side as Ford Park, but not within Ford Park. 6 News reporter Ashley Rodrigue will have more on the story at 10.
  8. Non district- Lumberton @ Silsbee District- Silsbee @ WOS Playoff- Silsbee vs. Jasper
  9. From this outsider's view point, if I am Coach Green, I stay right there in Vidor.
  10. Great info, good post.
  11. Silsbee QB Jeremy Johnson, but I think he has larger more prominent schools already looking at him. Even so, you can bet Coach Woodard will be in touch with him.
  12. I knew that was coming. Can always count on you for that particular remark. As for the suuport for Perk, like I always say, better late than never.
  13. No changes. Silsbee still will run the multiple defense scheme, predominately the 52 defense. Hiwatha Hickman will take over the DC duties where he will have 7 defensive starters returning, including top 300 Texas recruit in DE Josh Skinner. Silsbee still needing to fill one more assistant position. Craig will be sorely missed but it's a great opportunity for him.
  14. I never knew LCM been a 3A school If you look at the years, that was before they moved everyone up a class and did away with the class B. Class 3A was the old 4A.

  16. I agree, if we are going to include Jasper, we need to include Dayton and Barbers Hill.
  17. You actually have to ask, Coop. Silsbee, of course. ;D

  19. The answer to the trivia: The last non-scholarship player to win the Heisman Trophy was Ricky Williams of Texas. He signed a minor league contract with the Phillies and in the contract, they paid for his college. Texas never had to claim him on the scholarship list in the 4 years Williams was there.
  20. No way. With the Japanese horse scratching this morning, if Big Brown doesn't win by double digit lengths, it will be considered an upset. Big Brown by 13 1/2 lengths.
  21. You got me....I give. Actually, it's pretty recent. The baseball/football connection is a big hint. I'll give it some more time.
  22. The comments about athletes playing pro baseball and college football remind me of a little trivia question. Who was the last non-scholarship player to win the Heisman trophy?
  23. Seems that there is another REAL important golf tournament happening on those dates too. Now just what tourney is it? Hmmmmmmm....
