I was fully expecting Navasota to win this one by 3 td's or more. I guess that's why they play the games. I wonder if Coach Brooks has second thoughts on playing Gilmer now.

Whoa!! That Navasota score is more suprising than the Gilmer/Jasper score. Henderson is a decent 4A School though. Not suppose to be this year and they haven't been too good the last couple of years. I have family who live up there. They weren't expecting much from them this year. That's why I was suprised.

I have no idea how much it cost to broadcast a game on TV. I only know what the costs are for broadcasting audio over the internet. Our contracts with the schools that we are broadcasting is for the whole season, not per game.

Like the man said, Barton already has contracts with schools ( Nederland, PNG, and PAM ) and he is obligated to them. It's all about money. Bmt Kelly obviously stepped up and provided some sponsors to get the telecast. That's why we are broadcasting the teams we are doing ( Kirbyville, Silsbee, Lumberton, and BISD GOW ) because we got sponsor money to do it along with them providing their own broadcast teams.. If other schools would come up with their own money and broadcast teams, we would do them also. It's not about broadcasting the best game, but about who is going to pony up to take care of the costs.

Jasper getting it handed to them. Jasper maybe got a false sense playing the slowfooted PNG and Nederland. Gilmer able to match the Bulldog speed. I am listening to the Gilmer broadcast on our sister site. Their commentators said that Gilmer has played over 34 different players tonight. Their depth just too much for Jasper.

Silsbee JV 41 Houston Davis JV 0 It wasn't even this close. Tigers played second string most of the second half and we had a running clock for the whole 4th quarter. Houston Davis never crossed their own 40 yard line. No Freshman game. Houston Davis, though with an enrollment of over 1600, did not have enough to field a freshman team. Pathetic.

Well that is the morals, or lack thereof, of a majority of the black youth (and more and more whites as well) today. Don't work and save for anything...just steal it. Don't try to make good grades in school, just get out of school and steal or deal drugs. Go to a Marshall Middle School dance sometime and you'll see what I'm talking about with the lack of morals among the black youth (wearing pants that hang down to their knees, wearing shirts with marijuana on them, wearing belt buckles that say P-I-M-P, acting like they are humping one another on the dance floor, etc.). Also, what's even more pathetic, the leaders of the school condone it by not stopping it. Sorry, this is a sports forum...I'll get off of my soapbox. So you justed assumed that this young man is black. The article never said what color he is and does it matter. A crime is a crime. Why did you feel the need to make it a race thing? If you hit the link that Stevieray provided, there is a photo of him clear as day. Looks more ghetto than black to me. I stand corrected, did not see the link. Somebody needs a haircut.
