  2. I agree bullets. I watched EC early in the year and they really were struggling. I was able to broadcast one of their games later and I saw a real improvement from the first time I saw them. It's a tribute to the players and Coach Andrews and Coach Fontnot for their determination to keep the Buc Basketball tradition going, by making the playoffs once again. Congrats gentlemen, good job!
  3. Round 2 of the battle between top dogs in 21-3A will take place tomorrow night as the #2 (HoopInsider) #11 (TABC) ranked Hardin-Jefferson Hawks will come to the Tiger Den to take on the #1 (HoopInsider) #8 (TABC) ranked and district leading Silsbee Tigers. The Hawks need a win to get a district co-championship and force a possible game 3 (could be coin flip also) to determine #1 seeding. The Tigers on the otherhand with a win would be sole district champs with an undefeated district record and would be the #1 seed and get the first round bye. The first time around in district Silsbee took down Hawks at HJ, 65-55. This should be another great game between these two great programs. Broadcast time will be at 7:15 with tipoff around 7:30. Come on out and watch some great 21-3A basketball or catch all the action right here at Setxsports.com!! Mike Sanchez, Tiger Sports and Setxsports.com broadcaster
  4. They have had HJ's district record wrong for the last 2 weeks.

  6. I totally agree. But that's TAKS for ya. I would have rather seen the TAKS testing be done the following Monday and Tuesday, the 9th and 10th. There are no games played those days. Most schools are on Spring Break that week. You are right. I didn't think about that.
  7. They are not that bad, and I don't remember any air balls in that game. They've hit a tough stretch now but they could have easily won 3 of the last 4 conference games with a little luck. Change that quote to a "little better coaching" and I'll agree with you. If a team is relying on "luck" they are doomed. Any fans putting these losses on lack of luck, is reaching.

  9. The boys regional quarterfinals (all classifications) were to be played on either March 2nd or 3rd. But due to TAKS testing, those playoff games will be played on either Wednesday March 4th or Thursday March 5th. The regional tournament dates (all classifications) will still remain Friday March 6th and Saturday March 7th.
  10. and there's nothing wrong with that.
  11. You know, you Orangefield fans seem to think that Navasota was the one that cheated you guys last year. If I recall correctly, it was an official that let you guys down, not the Lady Rattler team. To me, Navasota has not done anything to warrant such bad feelings from Orangefield towards them. The Lady Rattlers did nothing wrong, they played hard like the Lady Bobcats did. I just hope that Orangefield fans frustrations from last year's game is not directed at the Navasota team. That would be wrong.
  12. Sounds like the AD Hooks should get more involved.
  13. I agree with you, Lazeek. I am a season ticket holder(11 years now), and from the beginning of Roc's tenure I have never been impressed with his on court decision making. Roc may be a great recruiter, motivator, and even a good practice coach, but his in game decision making and in game adjustments are not very good. Tony Branch, Grey, Deane and Newell were better game type coaches with their x's and o's.
  14. Our boys basketball forum has now moved up to the #2 spot in most posted forums on our website, behind football. It was #4 behind boys baseball and girls softball forums for the first 3 years of our existance. Now it has moved on up in it's "rightful" spot at #2. Thanks to all who post here and continue posting on all our forums.
  15. Prentice is out for the rest of the season, including playoffs. His injury requires at least 6 weeks recovery. Lane had 2 points against HJ the last time but was one of the better defenders in that game.
  16. Roc sounded like a whooped man in the post game interview.
  17. When you lose to what is quite possibly the worst team in the league at HOME, your season is over! Pack it up Cards, season is over!
