2. I really wished ya'll had not posted over there. I wanted to see how long they would have gone without a post or traffic. ;D
3.

I'm a little confused with the Nederland scenario. They're in with a win OR a 2 pt win?
I understand, and I will try to explain it out because the scenario has as much to do with whether PNG wins. There is a scenario in which PNG, Nederland and Livingston all win.  That would give PNG a 5-2 mark and leave LCM, Nederland and Livingston with identical 3-3 marks.  The first tiebreaker, head to head would decide nothing, so you go to the point spread tiebreaker, which currently has LCM at +8 (57-49 win over Livingston), Livingston as -3 (21-16 win over Nederland and 57-49 loss to LCM) and Nederland at -5 (21-16 loss to Livingston.  So in order for Nederland to get into the playoffs in this scenario, the must beat LCM by 3 points or more to get a -2 or better on the point differential. Like I said, it is only in the event that both PNG and Livingston win, too.  But it is a possibility which prevented me from saying just a Nederland win gets them in.
So what happens if Nederland wins by11? Both Livingston and LCM have -3.
In the case of two teams tied (which you have stated with LCM and Livingston would be at -3) then you go to head-to-head. LCM would advance due to their win over Livingston.
4. That other site is dying. I was just over there and the last post in their high school football forum was last Saturday, almost a week ago. The last post in their Smack Attack forum was last Thursday, over a week ago, and they did not do a pickem for this week. Last week's pic'em only had 5 people participate. The most current post was made in their fantasy football forum yesterday. I totaled about 12 posts made on that entire site in the last 10 days. Pitiful!!! Basketball season will kill them for sure. They have nobody over there to do basketball. There's only 3 posts in their basketball forum and the last one was made on Oct. 3. Also, I have been watching that Lamar site that Melancon has and it's doing badly of late. Most of their regulars have just about given up on it and are over here posting in our Lamar forum. They just don't have the traffic to compete. I bet Fox 4 guys don't even go to either of those sites. James, Brooke and Nick have not posted anything on either of those sites. Just a waste of time. I will be very surprised to see those sites still going by the summer.

Basketball is fine, Brad has done a great job, I told him we need to come down, but he insists that he has enough contacts to make it work.... We'll see...
Brad probably wants 291 schools! ;D As for his contacts, he has some, but most are 2A and down.
Yeah, Brad was NOT liking this change.  He even hit me with a couple of pms yesterday.
How did he know we were changing?
6. Nederland is in with a win unless both PNG and Livingston win. Then, the Bulldogs would need a win of at least 3 points over LC-M You can view all the playoff scenarios on this thread: [Hidden Content]

8. Tonight, the Silsbee Tigers play host to the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at Tiger Stadium in Silsbee in the last regular season game of the year. Silsbee (5-4, 2-2) needs a win tonight to advance to the playoffs where as Hamshire-Fannett (1-8, 0-4) is just regulated to the spoiler position. The Tigers took it on the chin last week, losing to WOS, 36-8, while the Longhorns lost for the 8th consecutive week, losing to Bridge City 56-19. It's Senior Night at Tiger Stadium and Silsbee wants to send the seniors to the playoffs on a winning note. HF would love to get a win to end their season on a positive note. Silsbee leads the all-time series with HF, 3-1, winning last year's game 54-7. Broadcast time will be 7pm with kickoff to follow at 7:30. Mike Sanchez and Tim Scoggins will bring you all the action right here LIVE on SETXsports. Just click the link to listen to another Silsbee Tiger broadcast here on the SETXsports network. HF @ SILSBEE, LIVE, 7pm here on SETXsports.com!!! [Hidden Content]
9. Jereme, when you say basketball adds about 25 more, do you mean 25 more to the 66 or it makes the 66? If it adds, 91 schools is still too many.
10.
126
WHOA!!! That's waaaaaaaaay too many. Yes indeed, it needs to be reduced. No way you can keep up with that many schools and be efficient.
11. Hey Jereme, Henderson is 3A not 4A. 66 schools is still a lot. How many was it before?
12.
I am goin to say Dayton. Started out 0-3 and everybody thought it was going to be a long season. Then they lost a defensive lineman and argueably the best RB in SETX. They have won six in a row with the JV team playing in the 2nd half of most of these games. I think who ever has to play these guys better be nervous too. Also know one seems to be able to break da lil miniture horse they have(#15). He is running wild down there. Just want the competition to be aware and don't let him run wild on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this is true about JV players playing in a varsity game after playing in a JV game the night before, that is totally illegal. Barbers Hill folks, maybe ya'll do know what ya'll are talking about in regards to some cheating going on. ;)
13. We don't need to give up the ship just yet. Jereme, I know I told you that I would get over there and help but I haven't due to some personal issues. I apologize for that. I will get over there for the playoff run and I know I will help out when basketball kicks off. The site does pretty well during basketball season. As for baseball and softball, we will need lot's of help there.
14. I now see why TABC has Liberty Hill ranked #6 in the preseason polls. LH is now in Region IV, not Region I. They don't have to go thru defending state champ Lub. Estacado to get out of the region. Region IV will be an easier route for a deep playoff run and makes TABC look a little better. ;)
15. Last year Tony Wagner’s Estacado Matadors were 34-4 state champions. The return of four starters including all-state talents Clarence Willard and Kevin Wagner make them favorites to rule Region I and repeat. Danny Nix at Burkburnett has three starters including an all region pick from a 29-6 regional semi-finalist. Kennedale coach Doug Groff also returns an all-region selection from a 25-7 area finalist. They and everyone else hope to catch Estacado on an off day. In Region III Cleveland returns four three year starters including all-state talent 6’6 Cedric Reed. Coach Roderick Broussard hopes to improve on last year’s 28-5 regional quarterfinalist year. Hardin-Jefferson coach Todd Sutherland has three starters, five lettermen and players on a 23-5 JV team to take the next step for a 35-5 regional finalist. But, Travis Williams 30-5 Silsbee squad represented region III last year and he returns '6"4 D.C. Stallworth, an all-state selection now 4 year starter, '6"3 Prentice Lane 3 year starter, starting PG Kelton Gaines and nine players that made the trip to Austin. The Tigers will always be in the hunt. Two years ago Dallas Madison won the 3A state championship and last year they were runner up. Damion Mobley lost four starters from that 29-9 unit but has plenty of talent returning including eight letter winners. John King at Argyle returns all five starters including an allregion selection for the 24-10 area champ. Watch out for Lindale where three starters are back. Scott Albritton’s Eagles were 22-12 area finalists in class 4A and can’t be underestimated. Region II looks to be the toughest. West Oso is usually picked to win Region IV but someone else keeps getting in the way. Arnold Flores will build around all-state Raymond Robinson to make this the year of the Bears. The 32-4 squad last year was eliminated in the regional tournament. Liberty Hill hopes to be the team that knocks off the Bears this year. Barry Boren’s team makes the move from region I where the Panthers were 30-5 area finalists. They welcome back four all-district players and a 24-4 JV adds depth. Don’t forget to include Ike Thorton’s S.A. Sam Houston team. They were a 19-13 area finalist that lost only one senior.
16. Silsbee will be an up tempo type team this year, better guard play. They have some shooters. Probably not on the scale of Walters and Byars from a couple of years ago, but the two Barrett twins along with the PG Gaines can knock down the three. Lane and Stallworth will attack the basket as always.
17. Silsbee and Huffman are playing at Lamar next Thursday night.
18. Jamal Charles is so much better than Ford it ain't even funny.
19. First of all Soulja, Newton lost to Anahuac last week, not East Chambers (EC lost to Buna last week) Soulja and his small school knowledge, Geez...... ::) Joey, you cannot pick Evadale, they are not in Region III. They are in Region IV.
20. "They says they's big shrimps in these Viet Nam's waters"
21. Sgt Reyes has Soulja figured out on those small school predictions. Just pick opposite of Soulja and you are a winner.
22. Central/PNG predictions? To quote Clubber Lang in Rocky III when asked his predictions on the fight, "Predictions? PAIN!!!!!!"
23. Joey is a wimp not going to Livingston and broadcasting that game.
24. Silsbee will sleep through a win over Hamshire-Fannett.
25. What team from this area WILL make it out of Region III?
