DEC. 3-5 TOURNAMENT GAMES/POST UPDATES HERE!
AggiesAreWe replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Unfortunately, Silsbee did not get to play another game. They were suppose to play Brenham at 3:30pm but Brenham had one of their star players tear his acl and break his leg in game yesterday morning. Brenham decided to pack it up and head home instead of playing that last game. Silsbee goes 1-2 in the tourney. -

Playoff brackets are not hand picked and the state tourney brackets are set up to have #1 and #2 seeds on opposite sides. In this case, the bracket set up can be controlled to a point of balancing the field as best as possible. Again, it is an easy fix. Just move HH to bottom and Sharpstown to top. Pretty simple to me. -

Well, in this case with just 8 teams, it actually is pretty easy to set up a "perfect" (balanced) bracket. Mamba and I have shown you the options they have to do such thing. The bracket is lopsided and really easy to fix. -

It's pretty easy to see which side of the bracket is the toughest and which is the easiest. To balance things all you would need to do is switch HH with Sharpstown. -

Particularly in the 2nd half and crunch time. My jaw was dropped. Many times it looked like a senior, seasoned player taking a young gun freshmen to school, but actually the roles were reversed. -

I wouldn't say that. We lose Grubbs, Thomas, Maze and Tanton. I like our chances with them plus the others than without those four. Silsbee will still be good, but I like those 4 seniors and we will miss them. -
We are needing the results from the following games played last night (Tuesday, Dec. 1): Diboll at Crockett Hamshire-Fannett at Anahuac Good Samaritan at West Hardin Timpson at Lufkin Pineywoods Alvin Living Stones at High Island Centerville at Chester Baytown Christian at Houston St. Pius Conroe Covenant Christian at Beaumont Legacy Pasadena Faith at Groves Val Verde

Yes we have Bigcam. I know you have tremendous respect for Silsbee basketball. And yes, that Tiger football team is still a ballin!! -

I believe I can state this with confidence that as far as folks on this site, I have seen more Silsbee basketball than anyone. With that said, I honestly believe this is the best opportunity for Silsbee to win the whole thing in comparison to past opportunities. This team (and I mean the one when they have the full compliment of players) is very, very capable of winning it all. Will they? That remains to be seen and they will have to earn it. I have faith and belief that they can accomplish the feat. Might be wrong of me to put this undo pressure on them, but this team is as good a team as Silsbee has had in quite some time. I don't necessarily like to label a team "Title or Bust", but in this case, I feel that to be accurate. -

and the beat goes on. Does not surprise me. I have attended some of the pre meetings in past BISD/YMBL tourneys. The communication has lacked many times. -

Let me help you. Silsbee "Lite" played Beaumont Central last night. BTW, very big crowd last night in the Tiger Den. Just about at full capacity. -

They earned the #1 ranking because they had not lost and the #1 team did. Like ST413 stated, had Silsbee been ranked #8 in preseason, I highly doubt that Silsbee would be #1 right now based on what they have done so far thru just 4 games. Them starting out at #2 (based on what the team was returning from last year) helped them be in the position to gain that #1 ranking after Bridgeport lost. Pretty damn simple to me. -

I can assure you, Silsbee's preseason TABC ranking of #2 was based on a full strength Silsbee varsity team coming back this year. Not what is on the court now. Them being ranked #1 was somewhat inevitable after Bridgeport (preseason #1) lost two games last week badly and this Silsbee "Lite" team has yet to lose. Just a case of "next man". From what I witnessed last night with my own eyes, Central had no business losing to this particular Silsbee team. -

Knowing what they are missing because of still in the football playoffs, yep I was selling them short. Told Coach Sigler that last night. He agreed. Again I ask what's bigger. The Silsbee win or the Central loss? Lot's of folks in attendance last night were expecting a Central 15+ win. You can spin it however you want, Central was not suppose to lose to a Silsbee "Lite" team, no matter the ranking. -

Correct. I know this to be fact because the Bush's live right around the corner from my house. I have spoken with Braelon and his dad. He will be a Tiger next year, maybe sooner.
