The summer play where these guys face much tougher opposition is used in ranking the players. High school play has very little to do with these rankings. IMO, summer play is about the individual player. High school ball is about the team. So when ranking a player, i will side with the experts (aka TexasHoops, Jim Hicks, Doug Jones, etc) who see these players much more than on Tuesday and Friday nights.

QB for Silsbee that year was Jasper Lewis. William Graham was the tailback and Robert "Poochie" Arline was the fullback.

If it's about head to head, then why didn't he win it his senior year? Mustangs beat the Tigers that year as well but a Tiger won WRS that year.

I am a WRS voter and to my knowledge there has never been a back to back winner. My problem with some of the voters in this situation was they used a certain criteria to vote for Jack his junior year but chose not to use that same criteria his senior year.

I was at that game. Bishop never left the field. He was QB on offense, safety on defense, kicker and punter and returned punts and kickoffs. He literally never left the field.

If he was the clear choice that year, why wasn't he the clear choice the following year when HE won state that year as well?

Thomas Had 74 total TD's (rushing and passing) total offense of over 5000 yards in one season. All Silsbee records (also pass attempts, completions, TD's passes, passing yards for a season)

If the criteria for this honor is strictly high school career, then in my humble opinion the player should come from this list: Bobby McGallion Randy Mathews Brian Doss Philip Lindsey Jeremy Johnson Patrick Reed Dontre Thomas

Former Silsbee and PA Memorial head boys basketball coach Travis Williams will be taking the head coaching position at Kirbyville next season. Coach Williams last coached Kountze girls basketball team two seasons ago.

Barbay refuses to play Silsbee. An over 70 year rivalry trumps a Jasper/WOS rivalry.

Honestly, I had no idea they were rated that low academically. Is this accurate?

Will this "jumbotron" work in the rain?

To my recollection, this will make 6 head coaches in the past 11 seasons.

Coach Jacob Hooker has taken another job in another school district. Head baseball job is now open at Big Sandy. Contact AD Kevin Foster at [email protected]

Coach Pace will be joining the staff at Lumberton HS as an assistant basketball coach.

Only one team I want to see my Tigers play. JASPER

I like all three RB's (Arline, Martin and Taylor). But my personal preference is Arline. Kid runs hard every carry.

PLEASE KEEP IT IN SA!!
