  1. Maybe. Pass rush will help. Hitchcock put some pressure last night. HF run game was what hurt Hitchcock. They were determined not to be beat by the pass last night. I think by the time these two play (Oct. 10), Silsbee secondary will have figured it out.
  2. Silsbee QB Johnson's numbers for this game: Passing 18-22, 187 yards, TD 2 INT's Rushing 18 carries, 71 yards 2 TD's Total 40 plays, 258 yards, 3 TD's RB Hafford 25 carries, 150 yards
  3. Just a little. But given the fact that Nederland beat WO-S, that game last week doesn't make Lumberton look all that bad. Also, I was told WB didn't play that well. Played down a bit.
  4. The two surprises to me was Livingston beating Needville and Liberty playing a one point game with Splendora. Everything else was pretty much chalk.
  5. All correct. Silsbee did stop WO-S district win streak the next season (2009) and won the DC.
  6. I can remember a Silsbee QB mistakenly taking a knee instead of spiking the ball at WO-S that cost the Tigers a win. Silsbee had the ball at the Mustang 1 yard line with the clock winding down, score tied 7-7, and instead of spiking the ball, the young man took a knee and time expired due to Silsbee not having in timeouts left. WO-S ended up winning the game in OT, 14-7. That was in 2008. I know for a fact the Silsbee coaching staff was telling the QB to spike it. Was quite clear from our broadcast booth. Saw several giving the signal to do so. QB just got confused. It happens. I don't know that the QB was confused in this case but it's very possible. I just don't think you can automatically blame the coaches on that situation. Sounds like there are other things that cost WO-S this game, not just the kneel down.
  7. Right. And so will half the teams that play Sunday. LOL
