Yep there is a lot that goes into a Friday night of high school football in the state of Texas and I sure would hate it if all the kids wouldn't have the opportunity to participate in whatever club/group they belong to.

Well an e-mail was sent out yesterday stating that the BU varsity cheerleaders will perform at Thursdays game in Baytown by their cheer sponsor. Just hoping for some good news from the band and dance team.

Not good. My daughter (cheerleader) said they hadn't been told whether or not they will be going. Well if that's the case, guess I'll bring my air horn to make up for the band and everyone else not being there...😀

I'm quite sure there are a few kids that had their homes flooded. They had practice today at our game stadium due to the school fields being flooded.

Why wouldn't we? Our kids may not be in school this week but all extracurricular activities are going as scheduled at The U. With I-10 back open, I should be at the stadium to do my usual updates about 6:30...

A lot of drying out work going on over at The U. I was told that both gym floors are fine and the field house didn't get any water in it (go figure that one out). The boys are currently at the Butch having practice...

Coming from a 2-8 campaign, no doubt it would be an exceptional year.

I'm just glad it wasn't a week when we played WB, King, Channelview, etc. but instead have Sterling. They will probably have 3 kind of light practices focusing more on conditioning and getting their timing back after a week off and all of the other distractions. I don't know of any kids that suffered any loses even though I'm quite sure there are some. I do know the coaches reached out to the kids during this time. Probably one of the best things for all the kids (football, volleyball, band, dance, cheer, etc.) besides being back in school altogether is to get back in to practices and then having a football game on Thursday. The volleyball team has games Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of this week.

Name the school official. Because the e-mail that was sent out to staff and students didn't have the word "indefinitely" in it nowhere. The Beaumont "Suprise" Enterprise use the word "indefinitely"... And I don't think I would have told you to use Google if I didn't already know the difference...

Nooo, Beaumont needs to be a 2 high school town with it's current population and should have NEVER been a 3 school town...

If not for Bevil having a lot more control of the offense then what he did last year, United may or may not would be 3-0 but definitely wouldn't be averaging 41 points a game. This same time last year, we were 0-3 and averaging 12 points a game. Coach Jones and Frank have the defense playing light years better than what they were playing last year but I think one of the best things is that the offense is not having so many 3 and outs as last year. Just food for thought, in 2018 at this same point, the defense was giving up 32 points a game opposed to 7 so far in 2019.

They had some juniors and sophomores that played on varsity last year. They won't beat North Shore this week but to me, they are in contention. The only team I have eliminated from the playoff race is Baytown Sterling.

I rode by there today and there were contract crews working. My prediction is that they’ll be back in there on the 30th but I’ll make some phone calls Monday to see what I can find out...

I can’t believe you even started this topic. But then again, “if you can’t beat them (football & basketball), recruit them”...

Some people need to Google DEFINITELY and INDEFINITELY and realize that they mean two different things...

I hope Lumberton beating Kirbyville, Houston Furr and Evadale has them ready for Silsbee and district play.

I just THINK it’s water this time. At Central we were dealing with years of neglect that Harvey brought to the forefront.

I want them to win too, just not this week...

As soon as I have more information, I’ll be sure and let you all know. Personally I hope back on the BU campus...
