If not for Bevil having a lot more control of the offense then what he did last year, United may or may not would be 3-0 but definitely wouldn't be averaging 41 points a game. This same time last year, we were 0-3 and averaging 12 points a game. Coach Jones and Frank have the defense playing light years better than what they were playing last year but I think one of the best things is that the offense is not having so many 3 and outs as last year. Just food for thought, in 2018 at this same point, the defense was giving up 32 points a game opposed to 7 so far in 2019.

They had some juniors and sophomores that played on varsity last year. They won't beat North Shore this week but to me, they are in contention. The only team I have eliminated from the playoff race is Baytown Sterling.

I rode by there today and there were contract crews working. My prediction is that they’ll be back in there on the 30th but I’ll make some phone calls Monday to see what I can find out...

I think we’ll start slow because of the lack of their normal school day and practice routine, like 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. Then again they could use it as motivation and come out like they did against St. Pius, 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. They won’t overlook this game, just hope we can get our number 1’s out healthy and give the number 2’s plenty of playing time.

They will be playing Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

The AD told me that tonight’s volleyball games will be played on Wednesday of next week.

I originally wasn’t going to start this thread until tomorrow morning but with the news of Beaumont United being closed indefinitely coming out, I’ll go ahead and do it. After getting off the phone with my contact, he informed me that this game will be played as scheduled which is Thursday @ 7pm @ Stallworth stadium in Baytown. BISD stadium will be available for both Beaumont schools to practice at due to their school fields being inundated with water. 2018 Result: United 45 Sterling 0 Timberwolves come in 3-0 while the Rangers are 1-2.

Yea it's going to be a mess and headache getting to these games now. It will add about an hour to drive time.

I disagree with this part in that the wrong coach was running the offense last year and the best personnel was not on the field. Last year it mattered more which campus you were from rather than what you can do on Friday nights...

I agree on Sterling being in the bottom spot but I wouldn’t say LaPorte is eliminated just yet. The Bulldogs probably won’t get in themselves but just as they did last year to United, they could play spoiler for a bubble playoff team. And what about Channelview?

No problem, I'll get the results from the district chairman every Monday and Wednesday. As is with girls basketball, it can be tough getting results for girls sports.

I really don’t want to jump the gun with us. Yes I am a big time believer but for the Timberwolves to make the playoffs, it is one game at a time. Nobody can be over looked starting with Sterling for us next week. I agree North Shore and West Brook should be locks. If we can get one of those other spots, great. I predicted CE King which would have my neighbors on the west side going D1 which doesn’t favor them. Either Channelview or Deer Park could get in to help out the Bruins. I personally think it would be Deer Park over Channelview...
