Ashly Elam with 12 News just put out his weekly numbers for the area. I previously mentioned what WB and BU score and give up a game but I didn't know that WB had the highest scoring average (45) in the 409 while BU has the stingiest defense (7) in the 409. BU also has the 3rd highest scoring differential (how much they beat their opponents by) at 27 points in the area. WB wasn't mentioned on that list. Something is going to give come Friday night...

What's surprising is that 2 of our starters that just came to BU this year, 1 I know for sure, lives in the WB zone but because of the magnet programs, are at United. Like I said, there are a few loop holes but not too many.

For the most part. If you stay on the East side of the freeway which includes BISD stadium, Baptist Hospital, Target etc., you go to United. If you stay on the West side of the freeway which includes Pappadeaux's, Parkdale Mall, etc., you go to West Brook. There are a few loopholes that a parent can use but for the most part, that's the line.

With that being said, I only think it will be a 2 year drop due to our current sophomore class being in the 650 range and our current freshman class at 757. Every year our freshman class will be in the 700 range.

As of last night's number (2,147) that they showed us at the parent meeting concerning Imelda and the damage it caused to the United campus, it very well is a high possibility. Just depends on where UIL puts that cutoff. The last realignment, 2190 and above went to 6A and I don't see UIL dropping that cutoff number. We'll either be a small 6A or big 5A. So you and your Titans could very well be our homecoming game next year in district play. 😀

No doubt they are the favorite...

West Brook’s 2018 team was a special one. I think it was more dangerous running the ball with McGhee, Holland and the QB Elie. This year it SEEMS the big plays generally come from the passing game. Despite this years team being 4-0 compared to last years team being 3-1at this same point, most Bruin fans that I’ve talked to think last years team was better at this point of the season. BU is head and shoulders better in every aspect of the game than last years team. I think neither team will pull away in this one by more than 14 points.

#9 West Brook is averaging 45 points offensively a game while giving up 27 points a game defensively. United is averaging 35 points offensively a game while giving up 7 points a game defensively. The Maxpreps computer has West Brook ranked #22 in 6A with a strength of schedule rating of 21.4 while United is ranked #60 with a strength of schedule rating of 4.1. Undoubtably West Brook has played the more difficult schedule between the two schools.

Why would it be cancelled?

The game has been moved back to Friday. Whenever we are home, as we will be in this one, I'm always sitting on the first 2 rows of the upper deck reserved section. I'll check with you later in the week to see if you are coming. We are also supposed to be tailgating...

I am limited to what I can say at this point but this option was one of the first ones brought up and was shot down once again by the Powers that be. They don't even want to mess with the early college like they did for Central and Harvey. I did here one option that I liked. All I can say is think back to the days when Central and West Brook had separate 9th grade campuses. Not saying that's what is going to happen, just saying I liked this particular option. I was hoping that Dr. Allen would have a parent meeting set up for some time next week but we will see.

1. What a difference a year can make with pretty much the same coaching staff... 2. I totally agree. Some of these kids only get to practice daily because they catch the bus in the mornings for school. BISD has to come up with something real soon to give these boys some since of being back on a normal routine. Plus too much bad stuff can happen with 15-18 year olds when left at home all alone, for long periods of time. 3. The reason why they will get into the playoffs...

1. I don't remember a sack except the one where he ran towards the sideline and lost yardage instead of throwing the ball away. This is something I've seen them get on him about but it still happens occasionally. He still brings the one dynamic that was missing last year that will keep the chains moving. 2. Just the one I text you about... 3. At least we got our field goal this time. I think he has pretty good range. I would seriously consider letting him take care all of the kicking duty's because none of the punts were good tonight except for the very last one and you were gone by then. 4. Man I didn't know what the hell was going on at first. Pretty cool though. 5. Eaglin is fine and was on the field, just not in the backfield but instead the slot. Comeaux will be the starter next year. He is currently #4 on the depth chart behind Wilson, Burrell and Eaglin. No other team in district will be at Sterling's level so you probably won't see him carrying it too much more this season with those 3 seniors in front of him.

I can respect this post and agree with it. I wish I would have known you were going to be sitting on our side, I could have introduced myself...
