From the meeting I attended last night, the next board meeting is Thursday, December 14th but BISD is not planning to release their final decision until Thursday, January 18th at that board meeting.

Going to a meeting tonight concerning Central, Ozen and the possible merger. Hopefully will have some more insight into the situation...

For the sake of their football team only, they needed to drop or for the merger to occur. In anything else, they hold their own. Just not getting the kids to turnout for football.

After that article and some phone calls, I don't think the merger will take place for the 2018-2019 school year.

With PN-G and Crosby being in the same district, we won't have to wait until the playoffs to see another 72-69 game...

Nope, I was talking to someone about that the other day. The old AD made Ozen and Central play West Brook despite having half the attendance numbers. Central and West Brook has been a competitive game over the last couple of years with the Jaguars coming up short but it's been real rough on the Panthers. They don't make West Brook play Central in basketball but we are forced to play them in football. Many West Brook fans have said the games don't benefit them when it comes to district play.

Well looks like my oldest son will get the opportunity to graduate as a Jaguar in 2019. Barbers Hill (1559) Central (1309) Crosby (1779) Dayton (1513) Nederland (1546) Ozen (1151.5) PN-G (1493) Vidor (1331) If this district comes to fruition, I would like to see our 3 non-district games against WO-S, Lumberton and PA-M.

So the saga continues. This is why I said on an earlier post that I wasn't feeling so confident anymore that the 2 schools would merge along with all the work that is going on over at the main campus.

And the saga will continue...

With Ozen's number putting them at the bottom of 5A-D2 and Central being near the bottom as well, I'd prefer the merger for athletic purposes. Hopefully we can still set up a non-district game with the Indians and Titans...

It won't matter, they are merging with Central...

Yea and Ashley won't share the helmet program so that we can all play and be creative...

Now I just need an answer on what BISD is going to do...

Too close to the color scheme for the school from across town. I have no problem with the name but color scheme should be different. Don't want the other school thinking we are copying them. And Wildcats are not "big" cats bro. I don't have a problem with the Wildcats but if you want a big cat, use a Lion or Tiger.

Ok, we now have an understanding on the "East" Beaumont part. Nothing towards you man, I just have 4 kids that will be on that campus next year, whatever the name, mascot and colors are. I'm not just on this site but I'm on a couple others on Facebook pertaining to the possible merger and status of Central. I've been at most of the public board meetings since Harvey that I could make and even one that was private that they nearly had to get a police escort to make me leave. Just a concerned and invest parent...

You may have to go to the basketball forum for that. There hasn't been much activity on the football side from them for a while.
