It's probably somewhere in the football thread but I stated interview both of the current HC's and anyone else that they chose but if I had to give it to one, it would be Mike T. Whoever gets it, I'll support them just like I support all of Centrals programs, girls and boys. Nothing fair weather here but there are a lot of them out there...

Yes, I hope this is the case otherwise it might be a pretty rough beginning. I do also know that the AD is going to be the one that puts together the non-district schedule once the new districts are aligned. I hope PA is on that list. I also hope the district is no bigger than 8 teams so that they can have 3 non-district games.

I don't know exactly but I do know the AD is meeting with the Ozen coaches tomorrow morning and the Central coaches Thursday morning. I'll get some feedback from these meetings...

Well Central graduates about 30-35 seniors this year. There were some Juniors that played but I see just about every position up for grabs, nothing on lock. Depending on who is given the keys, Central will have 2 current sophomores (juniors next year) competing with whoever Ozen has returning for the QB position. That's why to me they need to get this HC named as soon as possible so that they can do spring football in May. An extra week in August isn't enough time in my opinion when merging 2 teams.

Using Beaumont United, you could get away with using the "U" and not have to worry about the infringement stuff with the University of Miami.

Yep the 3 BISD coaches are ranked 416-418 at $86K a year. Need to get that up to about $100,000...

I vote for Ozen-Central Consolidated Lions...but it will be left up to the kids so it will probably be something like the Beaumont Champion High Hurricanes.

This is going to be a key factor in how many applicants put in. I mentioned this to the AD a couple of weeks ago about getting the pay up to at least $98K which is the state average for 5A and 6A.

Found out last night that ALL head athletic coaching positions will be open for outside applicants.

Best believe, not saying he will take it or even put in for it, but if they open the job up for outside candidates, he will know. I let him know when Foreman left this last go around . Plus his freshman son is a stud QB and basketball player.

It's one of the favorites that I've been hearing from various kids...

I can understand about moving to Houston. I hate to loose a kid with that potential from the area but as parents we have to do what we feel is best for our child and situation. I'd love to see him at Ozen-Central but would rather him be a Bruin before leaving the area.

Just another reason all my kids in high school participate in at least 2 sports. Besides the fear of me and their mom at home, they have coaches that hold them to a higher standard. They enjoy their respective extracurricular activities and know if their grades drop or get in trouble due to some foolishness, it could be the end of that.
