I think i'll wait til thursday to give my score prediction.... I need to meditate a little more. Plus i'm not wearing my lucky underwear today.

There may be one or two plays that havent been used by WOS, but thats not going to be enough to beat La marque or Navasota... Reguardless you will have to be more efficient this week and from here forth to have the honors of making your way to Dallas. Between these 3 teams i can see it going either way.

[/quote] We actually did well in covering the short passing game but on the one side where #3 was lined up you will see probably one of the shortest corners you will ever see in high school football. La marque has a corner that is like 5'4 and he was in man coverage against someone that appeared to be about 5'11 or so... So of coarse if the receiver gets a step on him then he will get beat deep. You can tell that La marque prepared for the running game this week because they were willing to take that chance of having him one on one. But i wouldnt take that corner off the field because of it, he is one of the fastest and best defenders for the cougars, other than safety #8. It was just well played by CS.

They haven't played a team like La marque or WOS all year IMO, i think la marque will give them a run for their "rings". But offense will have to utilize a lot more of its playbook. Our plays last night were as simplistic as i've seen all year. All we did was run the ball down their throats with our two workhorse RB's and QB draw. I guess coach figured we would grind out this game and not throw it up for chance.

Yes, West Columbia is a very talented team when all the pieces are clicking at once and yes WOS won by two scores, but teams like La marque and Navasota are gonna feed off of eachother this week. West columbia is lighty above average competition, La marque is #5 in the state and Navasota #1. Whoever wins that game will have won over stiffer competition and be battle tested. Good luck to you all though, you have a great squad this season.

But my goodness these outrages score predictions of the scoring dang near 50 on the coogs get real [/quote] Don't fret, Most of those predictors either havent seen la marque play since pre-season or AT ALL this season, or are sore losing CS fans. lol I thought you were suppose to be supporting the team you lost to, so at least you could say "we lost, but we lost to the best or the next champs" . I guess they don't do that in this classification. At least not the fans. I was glad to see the comradery by the players after the game though. They obviously knew they lost to the better team last night. Coldspring did however expose some weakness in our defense after having the benefit of playing us twice, I'm sure that will be tweaked this week in practice.

To make excuses isn't very becoming especially when the game was officiated well as I saw no bias whatsoever. [/quote] If truth were told, there were multiple times where #62 for Coldsprings was illegally holding our #45 from getting to the quarterback. I counted at least 3 on my end of the field but only one was officially called. Nevertheless, i cant complain because one call never determines a whole football game. It was neck and neck until the 3rd Q when la marque gave itself some breathing room going up 2 scores.

I see a lot of offensive stats .... But WOS has one of the best defenses in the state. But i give everyone the benefit of the doubt, at least for the moment. Still, WOS wins this one by at least 3 possessions.

And that was all she wrote folks.... Well well well, did i predict it or what ?? La marque wins by two score as predicted (14). Our Defense got worked in the first half.... But came out in the Second half and took care of business. Great Game Coogs... But this is only step 1. We've got no. 1 Navasoto next, and they aint no joke. Back to work. #CTS Also i want to give a lot of credit to the coldsprings coaching staff. They knew that it would take an early knockout blow to stunn this La marque squad into playing below their capabilities.. Of course, they are 6-0 and won by an average score of 48-9. WOS has played 2 teams that averaged over 300 points (Jasper and Silsbee), they won both of those games by an average score of 22-10. Interesting to note that of all those teams only Silsbee (423 points); Coldspring, and Jasper (both with 463) have scored over 400. Navasota met only 1 school with less than 200 points scored, while WOS faced 4. I'll try to investigate LaMarque when I can. [/quote] La marque is comfortably sitting in the top 5 defenses in 3a. This season alone they have only allowed 95 points to be scored in 11 games, and has only allowed 7 points in the last 6 of those games. Offense isnt doing too bad either when you consider every skilled position has had new faces this year... They have put up 393 pts in 11 games. Maybe not as great as Navasoto or WOS but decent enough to be a threat if given a chance.
